Sakana Sushi Asian Grill

This is honestly the best sushi spot in Tampa in my opinion.The service is consistent, and the atmosphere is chill. Good spot for a date night or a work lunch.

Our friend recently had Sakana cater his party and they created beautiful boats of sushi for him. He just had to pay a deposit for the wooden boats, which was released when the boats were returned in the same condition.The presentation was beautiful and they provided plenty of soy sauce, ginger and Wasabi on the side.I've only dined here once years ago, but I'll be back in thanks to the reminder from the party.

This place has amazing steak lo mein, steak fried rice and various sushi options. They have very big portion sizes. We also had edamame and wontons for appetizer that were delicious. This restaurant has become a regular in my household.

My favorite sushi spot in Tampa! We probably eat here about 3 times a month. Their rolls are always fresh and flavorful. The Mr. Lonely roll and Angry dragon are my staples I order every time. They have happy hour and a twilight sushi menu that ends at 7 on weekdays. Staff is always super friendly and we always get a table within 10 minutes of walking in.

Very nice little spot! Great food, great service and some one of a kind appetizers that you will not find anywhere else. I would definitely recommend the grilled baby octopuses and the Asian beef tartar for the starts. Will be coming back soon for sure!

This sushi spot exceeded my expectations. This is probably one of my favorites I've tried in the Tampa area. This fish here is so fresh and tasty and I loved the rice and their sauces. To start we were offered complimentary edamame which was seasoned so well. I think they add sesame oil to it which was a nice touch. We ordered the coconut shrimp and omg it was so flavorful. It had a glaze on it that was like a donut glaze. We also ordered the cheese won tons and loved them.For dinner I ordered the pirate roll and substituted the spicy shrimp for spicy salmon inside. I also ordered the scallop nigiri, salmon belly nigiri, and the sweet shrimp nigiri. All were phenomenal! This place still has me salivating at the pics I captured. I would come back again today if I could.To drink I ordered the elderflower martini, wow was it good and strong. Got a great buzz off two of them. The service here was also very friendly. I wish I remembered our servers name, he was great !!!

Love this place! Freshest sushi. Had the duck egg rolls...yum! Highly recommend. Had the salmon twist roll. Nice little spicy kick at the end of the bite. Friend sharishi, which is never heard of. Looked amazing and she enjoyed it. Also had saki, which I don't usually. It was pretty good. I recommend you try Sakana if you're in the area...(also great service!)

This place was extremely busy on a Friday night. Our waiter started off with really good service, but progressively got worse and worse. I felt bad because I know he was busy, but made the same errors repeatedly. My friend's check came out wrong and she politely asked them to fix it, but the lady who came out with the iPad was quite rude and unhelpful. Besides the poor service, sushi was average. Their happy hour deli was 2 rolls for $15, which is an absolute steal. I wasn't blown away by my rolls, but ate it all because I was starving after waiting an hour and a half for the food to come out.

This is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant! I absolutely love their menu overall. The fish tastes fresh and the rolls are prepared beautifully. There's many different rolls to try and I still haven't tried all of them despite how frequently I stop in! Their pricing is comparable to other restaurants in the area. There are no hibachi tables here. The restaurant is on the smaller side so if you have a large party, I'd make a reservation at the least.Parking is terrible here! I have to be honest. Sakana is in a teeny-tiny "plaza" very close to Bayshore so unfortunately there isn't space for a big lot. You will get a spot, just be patient! Enjoy, xo!

Came for a light lunch. Started with edamame which were perfectly salted and came out quickly after ordering. I got the lunch roll special with the Bahamas roll and the New York roll. And the salad. I was surprised you get a choice of soup or salad. Most places give both.Salad portion was generous! And lots of yummy dressing. Salad was super cold- loved that.Great ambiance and sensuous music which I enjoyed although I was dining alone. I liked that they gave me a nice big booth although I was a party of one. The r booth faced the bar which had a TV. Jenn provided excellent service and lovingly provided a well equipped bag to go for my leftovers. The place had a steady stream of customers. I highly recommend!
