I actually thought I already did a review of Sabu. After all it's my go to when I come to the Joinery.Sabu is one of several in this food hall. Definitely the cool place to be in downtown Lakeland. I only mention this, but I've been to the restaurants here except for Mexican place GallGallito Taqueria. I have nothing against the place, but it's hard for me to turn down ramen. With that I think it says a lot about their ramen. I've tried most of the variations but tonkatsu is by far my favorite. Sabu has upgraded a bit. They have added a counter at their little place. Definitely adds some authenticity to their vibe. Service is at the little window. It's kind of tight there considering it's next to where you pick up you food. So if there's a line it all sort of causes a back up.Now my ramen has near perfect presentation. The flavor is a bit stronger but in a good way (IMHO). ThThe chashu has a fatty but tender charring. There are plenty of shitake mushrooms and the ajitsuke tomago is spot on. Now there are several places in the downtown area that would recommend but this is the cool place to go if you're in a group and no one can settle on one place.

Okay, so, The Joinery is like this weird, hipster, industrial chic spot. It's got exposed brick, hanging plants, and the kind of lighting that makes you look mysteriously brooding. Gorgeous view overlooking Lake Mirror. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: Sābu Ramen. Their Steamed Pork Buns? Chef's kiss. Fluffy, tender pork nestled in a cloud-like bun. I And that Thai Boba Tea is the perfect balance of sweet and chewy. I visit for those two things alone. So, if you're looking for a place to treat yourself, The Joinery and Sābu Ramen are your ticket. Just be prepared to wait for a table because this place is always packed. Worth it, though. Trust me.

WOAH! We already know i loved the food the end...... lol came here on a ladies night out. My new lady friend wanted to pay since i made her home made Ramen the other night. I cannot argue with that. Sabu is inside a little modern food court. Similar to Armature Works but smaller. It has many other shops n bar. Its a great concept n place for date night. That way everybody picks what they want n share at the tables. It has many places to sit inside or lake view. U can definitely see the water n moon. I already knew what i wanted. Went with the Tonkotsu ramen, pork buns n Taro boba. I gotta say in the flavor index is phenomenal! Ramen noodles were great too! All of the fresh ingredients mixed in made damn well dinner! I watched the chef do his magic, everything is done to order. You can see them operate in front of you. It has a couple bar seats but i gotta warn ya, they heavy! O_o but i understand why. The bowl was huge n deep. I ate the hell outa it n the two buns. I was stuffed! I watched my lady friend eat her double noodle order n buns n then a second boba. She is tiny compared to me. I was impressed! Lol now i get full fast. I added 2 buns to go, i always bring stuff for mom. We then moved the car to walk the lake. It was such a beautiful night. I recommend for date nights. Cant go wrong here! Even if its just u n the kids. Theres everything for everybody n free parking!

I was excited to try ramen in Lakeland and discovered the Joinery, which is a warehouse style multi-use space for restaurants and shops. There's also an in-house brewery.Sābu is one of the stall restaurants onsite with a trendy feel. You place your order at the counter and there's a shared eating space next to a bar lounge. The total vibe of the Joinery is clean and bright, so it's a great place to go for a quick bite or date.Although I did like the presentation, the food was not up to expectations. The spicy ramen bowl I ordered was not spicy, the broth was thick and had a slight kimchi flavor. The toppings were average and not much to talk about. My friend ordered the Tonkotsu bowl which looked flavorful but it tasted mediocre at best. We ordered a Bao appetizer that was suggested to us. It was all crunch and no real flavors that jumped out. I didn't enjoy the texture, which tasted like ground beef and left a bit too long in the fryer.I really wanted to love this place but there's too many misses in this ramen bar. I gave it a 3 simply because the ambiance, style, customer service, and effort so it deserved a rating. There's plenty of parking in the lot.

Easily my favorite place to eat at the Joinery. Any given time I'n here for ramen, I am surrounded by several other tables that were on the save wavelength holding bowls of noodle goodness.Tonkotsu ramen. After that is a preference of fatty or crispy pork belly, if youre looking for a traditional experience you'll find that with the fatty but if youre willing to try something new, lets make it crispy. I'd suggest being consistent of you get extra because it doesnt work to get both. The noodles are fresh, pork is delicious and toppings make the bowl drink worthy.Staff is friendly and knowledgable of each and every item on the menu and willing to coach you on what's best to get for your tastebuds. The ONLY thing keeping it from a 5 all around is I did experience the broth being a tad and I mean a tad too salty which can be expected with extra pork. A little tweaking and this could be absolutely perfect, but never stopped me from getting another bowl.Thanks.

Sabu Ramen located at the main hall. They have the longest line among all the Vendor. After order, they will issue a beeper for your food ready to pickup. Price is reasonable for a meal. We got the Tonkutsu Ramen with pan fried braise pork belly. The pork belly is delicious. We also got the Karaage. Their Karaage need to be more crispy. It also come with red sweet sauce. Food is good. We also got a strawberry boba. This is a good drink to have.

I never expected to become so addicted to Sābu Ramen, a restaurant located in The Joinery in Lakeland. Their service is fast, and the food arrives promptly; Sābu provides a pager so you know when your order is ready. Since trying it for the first time three weeks ago, I have already made the short trip back to enjoy their delicious food again. As a huge ramen fan, I found their broth, noodles, and meat to be perfectly cooked. The chicken sweet cucumber buns were the best part of my experience. The chicken was sweet and crispy, the buns were incredibly soft, and the cucumber blended the flavors together perfectly. I've already dined here twice in the past month, and I'm considering going back for the third time tonight!

The staff was rude. I respectfully made this known to the owner, and he defended the staff member's bad behavior, then proceeded to insult me.
