Rumba Island Bar & Grill

Stopped by Rumba Bar & Grill for their buy-one-get-one drinks and some nachos, and it was such a great spot! The nachos were the perfect size for two people to share. My boyfriend got a beer, and I had the Rum Punch--it was so good!They had live music playing, which made the whole place feel like a beach getaway. The vibes were amazing, service was quick, and even though it was packed (as always), everything ran smoothly. Plus, the prices are super reasonable! Definitely coming back!

Hugo was my server and he is wonderful!Eating outside among tropical trees. Dog friendly.Loved the hot chicken, if you like hot this is your dish!!Good fries too.

Total score is 3.5 stars. The dishes are your typical Caribbean dishes. Service is 5/5 for me. He was friendly but I got the impression that he wanted us out sooner than we want to when he gave the check before asking if we wanted some desserts. But, we still ended up ordering the rum cake. The cake came in with ice cream drenched in rum. LoL, as pleasantly expected. He was still nice overall. Kudos to the team and friendly service, fresh food served but I personally was not satisfied with the flavors. But, will recommend it if you just want to chill and try other dishes with the warm service.

The first top spot when we hit with our family when we visit our condo in Clearwater, Florida for 15 years. Great Drinks Rock Star Food. Reasonable prices for the quality of there seafood. Wish they could open one here in San Francisco. Don't forget to het some key lime pie to go and an order of the cornbread for later. They even were going to comp us once when the power went out but then the power magically came back on when we were leaving. Great services team also Best Stanley

Really fun tiki bar atmosphere. The happy hour is amazing. We have the nachos and they were the best nachos I've ever had.This place is fun, affordable and delicious. There are several early bird meals that we have to come back and try.

We have driven past this place many times. This time we were looking for dinner someplace we hadn't stopped before.First of all, I love the ambiance. The hosts station is outside, in front of the outdoor bar. There is plenty of outdoor seating, and they had live acoustic music on a Sunday night. But we chose to be seated inside.The inside area still feels like an island bar. High open ceilings adorned with wicker ceiling fans over an open floorplan. The atmosphere helped foster a relaxing end to a day at the beach. I would visit again just to sit and enjoy the environment.Everyone from the hostess to the server to the person who brought out our meals was welcoming and friendly. Everyone genuinely seemed to be enjoying their evenings, and showed a sincere interest in creating a positive dining experience. Our server could have perhaps been slightly more attentive, but overall we were pleased.Now the food... That's the key, right? They started us off with cornbread muffins that were delicious. My wife isn't a cornbread fan, but even she found them enjoyable. She ordered jumbo shrimp (they were definitely jumbo), along with vegetables and parmesan mashed potatoes. I had pulled pork with the same mashed potatoes and fries (loading up on the carbs). The fries were simply ok. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy, topped with fried onion straws and fried plantain. Fantastic. The menu says the pulled pork is smoked fresh daily, and I believe it. But next time I'll have them put the barbecue sauce on the side. It was a bit much for me.Overall, I felt we got excellent value for our dinner. $35 bought two dinner plates and a soda (one of us had water to drink). Considering we had the cornbread, and each had a tasty entree and two sides, and as good as the food was, we were pleased.In short, do I recommend? Absolutely. And we will for sure eat here again!

My husband, puppy and I had an amazing dinner in the outdoor area. We were so happy that it is dog friendly restaurant. We love the all-day happy hour. I loved the 2-4-1 red sangrias and my husband enjoyed his 2-4-1 margaritas. The island smokin meatloaf totally hit the spot and included two sides. My husband's patty melt was amazing, and he's addicted to the lobster bisque and Maria's muffins. The atmosphere was great with the guitar player singing away. There were plenty of fans to keep us cool as we dined outside. We were pleasantly surprised how reasonable our dinner was when we received our check. The food is truly amazing, and we look forward to returning again soon for their early bird dinner, and also bringing out of town friends and family.

We had wanted to try R I B & G for quite some time so we were in the neighborhood and thought we would try to get in even though it was dinner time.When we arrived, we had about a thirty minute wait, so my cuz, and I decided to try a couple of their two for one drinks which were not bad, but were not very strong, we did enjoy from the regular drink menu a blueberry lemon drop, and a Pain Killer (navy rum, coconut puree, pineapple juice, orange juice, and nutmeg, I had that one)When we were seated at our table , two of us ordered lobster bisque, that alone will have me coming back, that soup was superb, I almost wanted to lick the cup. We also ordered the cedar key clams, smoked chicken nachos ,and Mexican Street corn.The three of us loved the clams, dipping the triangle of toasted bread into the great broth. The nachos unfortunately did not hit the mark with us, the combination of crema, and smoked chicken was not a favorite.By this time I was pretty full, but one of my dining partners ordered from the early menu, filet k-bob, and one ordered the Rumba salad which had avocado,roated corn, candied bacon greens, tomato, and onion, with a poppy seed dressing. Both MDF. and our cuz both enjoyed their entreesWe all shared a piece of excellent coconut care, and vanilla ice cream, which was a perfect ending for our dinner.What made our dining experience really excellent was Jerr, our server, he was just great, and by the time we were done we were like old friends, we will definite be looking for him on our next visit

Very crowded parking lot, but we got a table after a short wait. We sat outside and it was a nice atmosphere. Our sever was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. I had the tenderloin sliders and they were some of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time, highly recommend!

Our party of six took advantage of the early bird dinner specials. The food was quite good. Portions were adequate. They have happy hour for cocktails too. The service was excellent. We had a lovely server-her name is Dawn and she did an amazing job. She was very attentive. The ambiance is busy and fairly noisy. We will definitely dine here again. There's great outdoor seating and an outdoor bar too!
