A MUST TRY FOR AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD - This Place Hits All of the CheckboxesLet me pre-empt this with I have been married to a Cambodian/Thai woman for over 20 years. I have had no shortage of authentic Thai, Cambodian and Loas food.By the way, my wife and son did truly enjoy this place, I just caught them with their mouths full and didn't go back for a retake, haha. This place is the real deal. We have eaten at many, MANY Thai restaurants around the country from Seattle, to Los Angeles, to Dallas to Philadelphia to Tampa and this is the best one we have had in 15 years. When I say the best one we have had in years, remember, I am speaking from Asian taste bud perspective. If you want American-ised Thai food, then this is not the place. They use the write fish pastes and sauces for flavor and in the right quantities.Let's break this down by a few key items for you to utilize.1) Flavor/Taste: The flavors were AMAZING. Exactly how we would want them from an authentic standpoint, ESPECIALLY with the Laos style Papaya Salad....soooo good. Let's put it this way, even when full "Our stomachs were telling us to stop, but our mouths were saying, Keep going", hahaha.2) Portions: Holy Portions Batman. Of all of the places we have been in the last few years, these portions were quite big. We were actually surprised as they were bringing eat plate out.3) Spice: Yes, Yes and YES!!! My wife and always want it as hot as you can make it. Typically, we order 5 Stars and some times ask for 7 stars (And specifically ask for Thai hot), yet we are always disappointed. NOT HERE. When we asked for 5 stars the server said "Are you sure?" and we were like "We are now that you said that", haha. They nailed it. Definitely 5 stars. Only order the stars of spice you actually want here.4) Service: This server was PHENOMENAL and for the life of me, I can't remember her name (Which is rare). She was right on top of everything, asked all of the right questions to get us what we needed and was there just the right amount of times. We definitely provided a nice gratuity for this one.Overall, if you are within driving distance to Roya Thai off of W. Hillsboro, then make the drive. Show up on a Saturday or Sunday so you can take your time and enjoy.

This new restaurant has the BEST Thai noodle soups in Tampa. No more driving to Pinellas Park for Thai noodles.⁉ Tired of the same old Thai dishes and want something authentic ⁉Royal Thai is the newly opened hidden gem for you.In video:1 Thai Boat Beef Noodle Soup - Hearty, beefy goodness. Perfect for a rainy or cold day.2 Thai Tea - Added boba for only $13 Papaya Salad - So refreshing, perfect with all dishes. 4 Ruammit - Rare dessert parfait, serve chilled, with coconut milk base fruits and coconut. Pairs wonderfully with spicy food and not too sweet.5 Tom Kha Soup - The seafood version is loaded with quality seafood and fish, decadent and bright flavors all in one.6 Sticky Rice in Basket - One of my favorite ways to eat rice. Use your hands and dip in all of the mouthwatering sauces.7 Roast Pork BBQ - There are quite a few pork barbecue dishes on the menu, melt in your mouth sweet flavors to balance with the acidic citrus sauces.8 Shrimp Sashimi - A truly unique dish for Tampa Bay. Slathered in addictive spicy marinade.9 Crispy Pork Belly Salad - One of my favorite dishes here, pairs best with sticky rice and papaya salad. Larb - Choice of minced protein with fresh vegetables.11 Mango Sticky Rice - The best I've ever had.I've been here multiple times now and could seriously eat here 7 days a week. It's that delicious.Excellent service, ask questions and get recommendations from the kind staff.Lowkey hidden gem diner atmosphere, across from airport field.

This place is a hidden gem. The food was very delicious and cooked perfectly. I've tried many Thai restaurants in the Tampa Bay area and this is one of my favorites. All the dishes we tried, we enjoyed, especially the drunken noodles and tom kha. Give this place a try if you like authentic and great Thai cuisine.

This Thai restaurant just might be my current favorite! It definitely holds the title for best lao style papaya salad I've ever had in a restaurant. It had the perfect amount of sweet, spicy and sour. It was literally perfect. I really wanted to try all their stir fry noodle dishes but decided to save that for our next visit! The sauce for the fried fish was sweet and spicy and complimented the fried fish well. My son really enjoyed the pad kra pow as well and said it wasn't overly spicy. My husband got the Tom yum noodles and we all kept trying his brother because it was the perfect sour. The strip the restaurant is in looks a little sketch but it's really adorable inside and the servers were the nicest servers Ive ever had in an Asian restaurant! 10/10 would go here again!

Such a hidden gem! Food is delicious and authentic. My husband ordered chicken wings which were crunchy and came with 2 sauces which were both good. The Thai noodle soup and the rad na are also amazing. I can't believe it took me so long to find this place!

We have almost eaten through the entire menu here! Can't say thank you enough for all the delicious food experiences that keep us coming back for more. Tom Zaap with Tendon, Som Tam Pla Ra, and Salt Fish Fried Rice with Chinese Broccoli were highlights of our lunch today. Thank you, Chef, for allowing us to try this amazing Rice dish!

This place is top notch. My partner and I stopped in for an impromptu lunch on New Year's and everything was delicious. They were extremely busy and you could see the staff was doing everything possible to assist the customers. Our food was definitely worth the wait. The Royal Thai wings were perfectly crispy and had a wonderful freshness to them from the lime. I had pad thai which was very nicely balanced with a sour, savory, and slightly sweet profile. Can't wait to return!

Meh. The food here is ok. It did not wow me. It was a little bland. I got the crab fried rice. Very little crab throughout the dish. Could have use more salt. The Pad Thai was too sweet. And again no real flavor. I got the combo and it came with two shrimp. My server was sweet. And the restaurant is small and it has a to go counter.
