After a lackluster dinner, we needed something sweet before bed and scrambled to find a place open late at night. Luckily we found the Revolution and wow!! Sitting at the end of a strip mall with little outside to attract attention, this place is a hidden gem!! Fun flavors with quirky names, everything tasted fresh and homemade, and served by the friendliest young man behind the counter. To the owner : You should know whoever the guy behind the counter was on Friday night (I forgot to get his name) deserves a raise. A small crowd was there when we came in and he handled everything like a rock star! Fast, friendly, knowledgeable, he's great! And the ice cream itself? Just as amazing! I got a freshly made waffle cone stuffed with peanut butter ice cream and a "jelly" drizzle over the top, while the lovely Spensyr had a 'Breakfast Sundae' that was an eclectic mix of flavors that combined perfectly ! There isn't a lot of decor or ambiance here, but that's not why you go for ice cream at 10pm.

Revolution Ice Cream is the perfect spot to stop by after a fun-filled day at Lowry Park Zoo. Instead of settling for overpriced zoo ice cream, take your kids here to unwind and enjoy some truly unique or classic flavors in a welcoming, laid-back environment. The location itself is cute and inviting, and the staff are always super helpful, especially when it comes to answering questions about the flavors. They're more than happy to offer samples, so you can try a few before making your final pick. The PB&J ice cream is a standout, but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Whether you're craving something adventurous or a familiar favorite, Revolution Ice Cream is a great way to cap off a day at the zoo!

I want to give this place 3.5 star for overall. Ice cream itself I can give 4 star, price is ok. My concern overall how clean is inside, and I'm not satisfied. I found about this ice cream shop that it one of the best ice cream shop in Tampa area. And if it's really true, I'm regret about Tampa Area. Because ice cream shop be clean, because is food, because is milk product and a lot of factors. Taste overall was ok, I can't say is best, and is not worst. But overall they need to improve inside experience. Also I don't see ice cream, how it goona look like, only names and it was really hard to read. It was their concept, but is not my experience with ice cream shop.

One of the best ice cream spots in Tampa! We always receive the best service when we visit. I love the that there's enough seating for guests inside and a few outside. The decor is so cool and I love that they showcase local artists work. I really enjoyed the banana pudding ice cream and my son loved grandma's Oreo ice cream. If you're looking to try new and delicious flavors, this is the place to visit.

How I heard of this place: We found Revolution Ice Cream while searching for yummy treats in the area, and a friend recommended it, after we enjoyed lunch within the same, tiny strip-mall. We had to check it out.Type of cuisine: Sugar-rush infused ice cream creations! Sure to please all palettes, all cravings and fully stocked with every sweet treat.Ambiance: Dark and alternative, the space feels like it would fit better in grungy pacific west coast cities like Seattle or Portland. Quirky stickers, seating and painted decor sparsely cover the space, where a young man works by himself. He's friendly, welcoming and enjoys the lighthearted banter with customers. What I ordered: The Cookie Monster Sundae - with Mint Want Cookies ice cream, Grandma's Oreo ice cream, Oreo crumbles, chocolate syrup and the addition of triple chocolate brownies - at the gift of our server. Kids selected waffle cone bowls with ice creams of choice (strawberry, caramel vanilla pralines) topped with whipped cream, gummy worms, vanilla wafers, Biscoff cookie crumbles and salted caramel drizzle. For my husband, the Breakfast Sundae with Beauregard's Blueberry Muffin Tops ice cream, Callie's hotcakes ice cream, Matty's Fatty Rolls ice cream, bacon brittle, streusel, maple syrup and cinnamon sugar. What I loved: The Mint Want Cookies ice cream and the Oreo ice cream. Strawberry was amazingly flavorful and light, tasting of real strawberries. Why I loved it: The creations are fun! It makes for the perfect (large) treat, especially after an overpriced and tiny lunch next door.Cost: High

On my daughter's birthday, we went for ice t cream after dinner. Revolution was next to one of my favorite sandwich shops, so thought we would give it a try. Folks behind the counter were quite nice, didn't rush us, and helpful. Atmosphere was quirky, which i like. Interesting flavors with fun names. But i am an ice cream snob. If you are quirky and have fun names, you set expectations high. The ice cream was just ok. I expected flavors that stood out, they were just average. The texture of the ice cream seemed like it was half melted, which i am not a fan of. Prices were very reasonable. So price point, service, and atmosphere are very good. But the ice cream, at least the night we went, could have been better. Improve the ice cream and this is a 5 star place.

Super fun flavor choices and the workers are very patient with samples and such. The ice cream is also super creamy and delicious! I wish the sundaes had more of the toppings on them, but everything was delicious. The decor is really cute as well and makes it a fun atmosphere.

Probably one of the best, if not THE best ice cream in Tampa, in my opinion. They are located on N.Florida ave , right next to another great place to get biscuits, Hey Giant. As you walk in to the Seminole Heights location, it is a small but cozy feel. With tons of artwork and cool stuff on the walls, booths and chair seating and a funny menu that's handwritten and some with sticky notes featuring all the flavors they carry and some special seasonal concoctions. I usually go for the sampler which I have pictured here. It is six flavors of your choosing in a nice carton that just is aesthetically pleasing for some reason. Idk , maybe it's just me, but I've never been more satisfied looking at ice cream scoops. Plenty of different flavors here to make you happy, all though I recommend getting the drunken brownies. So good with the Chardonnay. Only reason this place isn't five stars to me is the customer service. The last two times I've gone the cashier has been short and really didn't look like she wanted to be there. Also as I walked up she just stared at me and didn't even say hello. I mean, a simple hi would've been cool. Either way, if they can shape that up a bit, this place is an easy go to

First of all the customer service here is BOMB. The ice cream is amazing but the people working there are true gems. They care so much about the customers and it shows. When you walk in you instantly feel like you are in someone's house getting ready to eat dessert! I went to dinner with a few friends at Mekenita next door and decided we needed some ice cream after. We walked on over and I had a sample of the coffee, caramel, cinnamon ice cream (I think that's what it was) which combines like all my favorite flavors. It was amazing. My husband got strawberry ice cream and our friends tried the vegan selections. Everyone was so satisfied with their ice cream and the service.

I really like Revolution! They are a solid Heights staple for me now.Service is fast, and staff are super great. The place is a little small, but I haven't had a big issue getting seating when I'm there.Their flavors are really delicious and super unique. Ever had syrup on your ice cream? No? Well you can here, and it's suuuuper good! Euro trash, Matt's Fatty Rolls, and the 813 are probably the best flavors they offer to the non-lactose free community. However, they do lack multiple vegan/dairy free options. I try to stay away from dairy as much as I can, but sometimes having to eat the coconut/vanilla flavor wears on me and I just want a different option. When they have the coffee and Oreos, I get excited because it's a great dairy free alternative! Also, the seasonal Christmas dairy free option IS SO GOOD. My favorite ice cream they make for sure.Overall, 4 stars. If they could bring in some different dairy free flavors, I'd rate it even higher!
