My boyfriend loves Mexican food and is very particular about how food is prepared. We love this place. Both times we've been here the food was awesome! The salsa's are tasty and spicy, I recommend the fresh habanero if you like spicy. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and hospitable! We will always come back any time we are in Tampa!

Great food, in a no-frills casual restaurant.Menu has the standard fare you would expect, plus a bunch of specialities I hadn't heard of before, but that sound so delicious will have to go back to try more.

Ventured out for some Mexican food today and stumbled upon La Cascada. We dined at around 2pm on a Tuesday, and there was no one in the restaurant..so we had the place to ourselves. Naturally the service was focused on us, and the server was very attentive. My lunch mate (she is spanish) and I decided on the enchiladas platter and she had the steak and chicken fajitas.2 cokes accompanied the meal. The food arrived quickly but not before we indulged in complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is not red, because it is made with green tomatillo's and it was delicious.Once the food arrived we dived in. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. It came with a heaping helping of rice and beans and covered in lettuce, pico and sour cream. There are 4 enchiladas wrapped in corn tortillas. The food was fresh and delicious- almost as though you were eating Mexican home cooking. The chicken was moist and the red sauce very very tasty. I loved my choice. The fajitas were delicious as well and there was a lot of food on the skillet and the plate with the rice and beans. The meat, though a little tough, was full of authentic flavors.I am really glad we stopped by and will certainly return again!

A bit of a language barrier, that can be a good thing in terms of the authenticity of the food. Great variety of food and choices to choose from. The chips and salsa that we had ordered, the chips were slightly stale and was not given a refill before entrée.The cheese quesadilla appetizer in which we ordered came as chicken instead, (possibly the language barrier). The food came out quickly and as what we ordered.Good, filling, and authentic.Waters were only refilled initially when we got them, and once after the food had been eaten and we were n done.No ice in the waters at all.Had to wait longer than desired to get the check after asked.Overall 3/5

I returned here after being gone from the area about 10 years and their burritos still tasted like I remember, huge and tasty! The owners are kind and inviting and the menu has more options than I anticipated. My mom tried their "pescado frito" and she absolutely loved it, which is reassuring because she has discriminating taste when it comes to Mexican/central American style fried fish. This is a great place to try, the burrito alone is worth it!

Blacked-out windows on a restaurant in a strip mall in a sometimes-sketchy part of town don't usually signal good things but we'd just gotten back from Lowry park Zoo (another less-publicized gem) it was dinner time for the Young Miss R. So we pulled in to the parking lot. I peeked inside and saw the windows were only darkened on one side. Inside was bright, clean and (the young Miss R remarked) very pretty with Mexican blankets and serrano chile Christmas lights on the walls. And the food was really good, really authentic. Nice homemade corn chips Some of the best chicken Mole I've had north of Oaxaca. Spousal unit (who has savant-ish knack for picking best items on restaurant menus) chose the grilled chicken, which turned out to have been marinated in lime and chile until it got too delicious for words. I finished out feed with some nice flan, which I was obliged to share with youngest member. We drove back on 275, full of nice chow and suffused with satisfaction

I ordered Caldo de Pollo and it was absolutely delicious. The quantity was plentiful and the service was great! I will definitely be returning. Family owned and they are hands on with customers making sure their dining experience is a good one.The restaurant is clean and again the food is amazing. Starting with the chips and salsa!

It was definitely not a place where you think you will get good Mexican food by just looking at it, but the food was actually decent. I had the check flautas and my partner had the chicken fajitas. I also had a michelada which was pretty average for a Mexican drink in Florida. At least for this Texan. The service was great and the waitress was very helpful.
