I stopped into Red Mesa for work lunch with a friend. I had the special Steak and Chorizo Quesadilla. It was really good. Their salsa has a smoky, chipotle flavor to it. Their guacamole is always on point!I've never been disappointed by a meal or service at this location. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend & I came here for lunch, Initially we were excited because the place looked really nice & the staff was very friendly, but the food changed our minds real quick. We started off with the chips & salsa, & my girlfriend got a cup of the tortilla soup. The chips & salsa were alright, barely any flavor or salt on the chips & the salsa was really runny, like it was out of a jar. My girlfriend wasn't impressed with the soup either. It wasn't really hot & and again, no flavor (this was the theme for everything). My girlfriend ordered a taco salad with ground beef, something she gets at most Mexican restaurants due to her dairy allergy. She said the ground beef had next to no flavor at all & the taco shell for the bowl became really soggy really quickly. The fact that they charge $13 for the salad bowl & upcharge you another $7 just for flavorless ground beef makes it absolutely not worth it! We understand upcharging for certain proteins, but every other restaurant we've gone to that has this on the menu gives you the choice of at least either chicken or ground beef for no extra cost.I ordered the chicken enchilada, & when I say the portion size was small, I mean I was done with my meal before my girlfriend even started hers. The serving size was 1 small enchilada, maybe 4 or 5 inches long. The chicken was cooked all the way, but yet again, it had barely any flavor, and the tortilla they used for the enchilada was a bit overcooked. I had ordered the cilantro lime rice with it, but it tasted like plain jasmine rice, which was really disappointing because I love cilantro lime rice.We did order a couple of drinks, which were good but a bit pricy comparatively. They were $12 each which isn't terrible, but considering I could potentially get one of the fish bowl drinks for about the same price somewhere else.Overall, we ended up spending around $85 before tip on lunch for the 2 of us, & it absolutely was NOT worth it. If they did a happy hour or something & I was in the area, I may be inclined to stop in for a couple of drinks, but I would definitely be eating either before or after I came here.

We went to Red Mesa after the Grand Prix. I had been there once before and it was amazing. However, today was the worst dining experience I've had in recent memory. We sit down, and the waitress takes our drink order. But she forgets it and has to come retake the order. I'm understanding so it wasn't a big deal. Cut 2, everyone around us arrived after us had been seated, drinks, and entrees at the table. They also brought a half container of chips for a table of 4. She takes our food order, and it takes 45 to be served. The food was cold and I spoke to the manager who replied, "Can't you see it's busy. We can reheat the food or get you a new appetizer." Just a horrible experience. I will never return to eat here...even if offered a free meal. -10000/5 stars.

Consistently delicious. We came here straight from the airport (FL is our home). We were craving margaritas & good food. We were not let down. The chips were served warm with salsa, very good!I had the salmon plank, gluten-free with mixed vegetables. Delicious!!! Salmon cooked perfectly, moist not dry. My hubby had his usual (puntas de filet) an off menu item that is a ol fan favorite from back in the days. The service was outstanding, very accommodating and kind. Price is reasonable and my margarita hit the spot.Ambiance - upscale casual Mexican. We highly recommend

If you're looking for outdoor seating, Latin food, drinks, and football games, come here! There are tables and an outside bar and the bartenders are super attentive. I never had to wait long for a drink. (Try their espresso martini!) Oh, if you're vegetarian like me, the grilled veggie enchilada is good. It comes filled with mushrooms and zucchini.

I ate my food so fast, I forgot to take a picture. Whoops. This is my second time at Red Mesa and my first meal was divine, second edible. Order the short rib. Succulent and a flavor bomb in your mouth. Chicken enchiladas.... Well, order the short rib. Enchiladas were okay, the corn tortillas were freshly made, the way I like it. The chicken and salsa fairly bland. I'll return again. The salmon and birria has caught my eye. Until next time....

Good portions, great tasting food. The typical ingredients for a 5 star review. Why then only a 4? You have to pay for chips and salsa.

The server was nice, but didn't introduce herself (found it on the check, Olivia K). She already had waters for us which was awesome; we requested lemons on the side. She did suggest some specials for drinks and food for the day. She did ask us how our appetizers and food was, very prompt. The food was delicious came out faster than expected, today is a pretty chill day here though, the food was hot and fresh. The pickled onions went well on the chicken taquitos. My brother loved the scallop ceviche, he ate all of it and loved the coriz-tacos he could barely eat them because we had the traditional guacamole with hot chips before our food. The ambiance is relaxed and has chill music, very Tex-mex.

The loaded queso was delicious! I didn't know they charged for chips and salsa. Where I come from, it's normally free. Had I known, I wouldn't have gotten salsa and just kept with the queso. They do their enchiladas traditionally, crispy from being fried in a pan.

We ordered the Mofongo(mashed plantains and pork) appetizer which tasted like a mix between the smell of a moldy refrigerator and sanitizer spray. The burrito with steak was 90% rice and very little meat. This place used to be Great but no longer. The waitress was attentive and friendly but that's where the Pros ended. Just sad to see this place go downhill. Will not be returning.
