I was treated to an early Birthday dinner by my cousin at Raaga. I had heard it opened in the last year, and while it had good reviews by some other well-trusted reviewers, I had not managed to get to eat there despite it being basically a hop, skip, and a jump away.Raaga is in the same plaza as Bank of America, Crunch Fitness, Peabody's, and Hungry Howie's. Upon entering, you are basically entering a yellow and brown cafeteria with a single Hindu statue at the front. There are a few Indian paintings, but the main seating area is bland as heck. There is no Indian music playing. Heck, there is no music playing at all which is weird. There are some TV's with Bollywood stuff muted. Ok then.Raaga is apparently owned by Andra Pradesh people, which is part of South India (but not my peeps). However, they serve many of the North and Central Indian staples as Chicken Tikka Massala, Tandoori etc.Instead of tap water in a carafe with ice, we were given bottled water at room temp. One should note that ordering sodas is "a la carte", meaning you get the can and are charged per can. (No free refills like most US sit down restaurants)I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh and 1 garlic naan. The curry came with some plain rice. The servers checked on us every so often. While the food tasted great it was lukewarm on arrival and in 10 minutes it was stone cold. I suspected they just reheated pre-made food out of a container. Thankfully, the naan was served hot and fresh. I probably should have complained , but I'm usually not the type to make a scene especially since I Was not paying. There were only 4-6 other people in the restaurant1) on a Saturday night2) during Xmas season, 3) and in an upper middle class area (Tampa Palms).Brainiac: This is highly improbable, Kal-ElSuperman: Life's been full of surprises these past 21 months.Overall: Potentially good food , but diminished by temperature and ambience. I would suggest Taj for better ambience for similar prices.I haven't really eaten Indian much outside of grilled meats as Apna Bazar/Grill. since Jai Ho went out of business last year, it would be nice to have a nearby Indian restaurant that could be great, but I doubt it will be Raaga.

Food quality is great, but service is slow. Lovely place to eat if you you have time.

Worst Indian restaurant in Tampa. They give food with missing ingredients and still charge full price. Pickup orders are messed up too. Never come here.

This newly added restaurant. They are new restaurant that in Amberly Drive. Their menu is not ready when I first visit. I decided to have takeout and try their food. When I was there, they still decorating the restaurant. They are doing some final touch. They do have 4 pages of the menus. They do recommend a few dish is must try. I did not go for it. I leave it to next time. I got the Apollo Fish. It is a dry curry fish. Good number of pieces. I like the curry. I was able to select the spiciness of the curry I choose medium because my wife cannot take the most spicy. I would try a few dish that is must try as suggested next time. This include the Chef Dadang Dosa, Desi Lovers Curry Leaf Chicken. I also try the chef special curry goat and chicken Manchuria.

Finally walked over to our new nearby Indian restaurant! We came in on a Sunday right at there dinner opening hours and enjoyed a very quiet meal. With how delicious the food is, we were surprised we were the only ones eating inside for our whole meal. They did get a couple to go orders though. Anyways! To the food! What we ordered: Appetizer - Onion PakoraMains - Raaga special lamb biryani and House special goat curryDessert - Gulab JamunThe appetizer was like a crunchy onion tempura. It was very flavorful and the green sauce on the side was very refreshing. Everything. Everything was delicious. I love that they don't even ask you what spice level you like and just make it the way they know it to be done. We love spicy food so of course we loved our main dishes. The portion sizes are massive! We took home the rest of our main dishes and enjoyed each dish together a SECOND time. Btw, if you love a wonderfully spiced, sweet chai tea, please order their Indian Tea. It was so wonderful. The dessert, gulab jamun is perfectly sweet. It's a pastry that's been soak with sugar rose water. Delicious! Our server was very soft spoken and sweet. We would definitely come here again!

Really good! I took my friend who said she didn't really care for Indian food too, and she nibbled off our plates on top of eating hers and changed her mind. She really loved it! You may have to ask for ice if you like your water cold, we were served lukewarm water in glasses then handed warm water bottles before our plates came. I don't mind, but I know some people do. I had butter chicken and naan and I ate it all! My Bf also ate all of his chicken tikka and garlic naan. It's too bad I don't live closer to this place! The service was nice too!

We went there for lunch today and it was a disappointing experience to put it mildly. There were probably about a dozen people when we got there. They are seriously understaffed - a single waitress who was running back and forth trying to meet the needs of the customers. There was a buffet but several of the dishes needed replenishing and only when we finished eating, were some of them replenished. The food was quite honestly disappointing both in terms of taste and much of it was cold. Ambiance? There was none! Plastic forks, spoons and knives.I am sorry that we did not just go to a couple of the tried and true places which serve much better food and offer way better service. They need to get their act together!
