While picking up food from Martin's Indian Restaurant, I noticed Puerto Rico Bakery and was immediately impressed by its beautiful decor. Out of curiosity, I decided to step inside and explore. The server was very friendly and guided me through the various sweet options available. I decided to try the Flan from their menu. After lunch, we enjoyed the Flan, and it was absolutely delicious. The taste was perfect, with a smooth and creamy texture that we loved.I'm looking forward to returning soon to explore more of the bakery's offerings!

If I could, I'd give this new bakery 3.5 stars. I rounded it up for the coffee and great service. There's not many Puerto Rican bakeries in this area. One of them recently sold their business to Ricopan. That's very sad, because I really loved their guava & cheese quesitos and turnovers. This particular bakery is in a shopping plaza on the corner of Kingsway & Windhorst Rd. I was greeted right away by a very pleasant gentleman. He offered samples of bread pudding. It had good flavor, but the texture was different than what I'm used to. My aunt used to make the best bread pudding. I really need to stop comparing things to what I've had in the past.I decided to get the mallorca with ham & cheese, some pastries, and a café con leche. The coffee was very good. I like that he made it stronger for me. The sandwich had a nice presentation, but there wasn't much filling. They used American cheese instead of a white cheese. Let's just say that it's not my favorite mallorca sandwich in the area. As for the mallorca pastry/bread, it just didn't taste as good as what I've had on the island. I like the sweeter & softer version. However, I do like the tornillos, palmeras, and quesitos. This bakery has a lot of potential. It was somewhat busy on a weekday morning. Hopefully they do well in this area.I really need to go back to try other things like the filled donuts. I did see flan, flancocho, tembleque, and tres leches in the case. I'm just picky when it comes to anything Puerto Rican. Both sides of my family used to make some amazing comida. Please don't let my review discourage you. Try it for yourself.

I wanted to like this place so much. We stopped by at around 5pm on a Tuesday (they close at 7pm). The young lady that attended us had an attitude as if we were bothering her (although we ere reallynice, didn't ask any questions and only ordered 4 slices of cake). We all felt as if she was bothered by our presence. I was still eager to try the cakes though. I had order a slice each of Bizcocho de Novia (which is supposed to be very moist and soaked but to my disappointment it was the driest cake I've ever had. Like NO moisture what so ever. I was confused). The chocolate cake was ehhh, ok, not nasty but not good either. The quality tasted very cheap. The carrot cake was moister than the others (slightly) but we all agreed that the amount of cinnamon was really overpowering. The tres leches was not horrible but it definitely wasn't a slice I'd crave or need to try a second time. We paid $17.26 for the 4 slices of cake which wasn't bad but unfortunately we have no intentions of returning.

We stopped by for anbite to eat on a Tuesday about 11:30a.m. There were a few people waiting on orders as we came in. We took a menu and sat to read it over. I ordered at the counter an omelette with just tomatoes and cheese toast along with a cafe con leche. It was a bit of a wait but our food was brought to our table. The cheese toast had a bit too much butter on the outside and I wish I had been offered other cheese as I think is was velveeta. The omelet had the tomatoes cooked in the eggs which made them look more like scrambled eggs. She said it was good along with the toast. The shop was busy with many orders to go. We ordered six doughnuts to go (Bavarian, Apple spice, old fashion glazed and old fashion chocolate glazed) The doughnuts were very good. PositivesThe gentleman making my coffee asked if I wanted bold or light. It was very good and I could drink without sugar. Shop was very cleanNegativeThe woman at the counter when I asked about catering said yes they do and call and place order. She did not offer any other information or a menu. She also could not tell me what was in the omelette, she said all the omelette stuff.

I love the baked goods and cafecito but the infriendly young ldy behind the counter was a turn off. She acted like she hated being there and was bored while we browse. Mind you we didnt take long to browse. I's give it a four since the older lady made up for the dull young one's service.
