Portico Coffeehouse

I had a wonderful visit at Portico Coffee. It was lovely to be back on a college campus again. I had difficulty locating the shop and when I asked to be pointed in the right direction, two young men escorted me across campus to the door! What a wonderful courtesy. I found the Portico a small entry way area to the book store, basically a coffee cart, with some minimal nearby indoor & outdoor seating. There were plenty of drink options and prices were cheaper than most coffee places in Lakeland. The barista was friendly, not particularly chatty but served a great drink. Seating was unavailable so I took mine to go and enjoyed the walk across the beautiful campus. I plan to return as the weather cools. *I will add that the one-star poster was dishonest on parking-there was plenty, it's a campus for pete's sake! And burning her mouth is on her. A case of sour grapes rather than fair reporting. Give the place a try! Always nice to change things up.

The pictures shown on the account are fake . False advertisement. No ceramic cups inside the store & no latte art at all . Barista totally over-steamed my milk making me burn my whole mouth . My tongue was swollen till next day . Also this place is located inside the university and there is not much parking available . So if your looking for a real coffee shop - go elsewhere.

Coffee can be done really well, or really poorly, and Portico does their coffee with excellence. The employees are friendly and they're ability to create latte art is mind blowing. I don't even want to drink the latte, because the art looks so gorgeous. They also have tea and it's not bad either, not the best tea I've had, but it's alright. All in all, this spot is an excellent place to relax and sip some amazing coffee.

What really makes Portico such a great place is the very friendly staff, which comes second to the great coffee they serve. The baristas are some of the best of I've come across. Portico, without a doubt, has some of the best coffee in Lakeland. They have plenty of seating and a wide variety of coffee to chose from. My go to drink is a caramel latte and I've yet to find a place that makes it better than their baristas. The only downside is that parking is hard to find on the University Campus. Don't let that stop you though. You have to get to the shop and get a hold of some really incredible coffee.

Deliciously made & brewed coffee. Located within a college campus, and yet the fresh bean coffee is so good. Cool vibe and amazing people. The barista Nick is a real pro who serves up rich tasting brew with the creative style of foam art!! Such a pleasure

Love this shop, baristas are friendly and there is plenty of seating. The menu is very creative and had something for everyone. Whether your taste buds lead you toward the sweeter latte's like the Ron Burgandy (a butterscotch and brown sugar latte) or the strong and simple cortado, you won't be disappointed. Also be sure to try the Cold Brew White, it's brewed and bottled in house and perfectly sweetened with cream honey and vanilla. When I'm in Lakeland, this is my favorite place to get coffee. The only downside is that parking can be a little hard to find on the university campus some times, but the coffee is worth the walk.
