PJ's Oyster Bar

I am a huge sucker for oysters and I was so excited to try pjs oysters! I will say I was a tad disappointed when I got my baked oysters. The taste was great, super flavorful, but the size was tiny. I've ordered baked oysters for a while now, and I'm comparing them to others pjs was very average. Now the service was great and we had a super attentive server. We were sat immediately on a Saturday, early evening, which was a plus as well. I've been to pjs a few times and I have never had any issues with the services, but the food is usually sub par for what I am looking for. When it comes to the ambiance and the atmosphere of the restaurant I love it! It is retro and gives dive bar vibes! I still stand by one of their best meals is their grouper sandwich!

Good food. I started with the house salad and the house dressing (Greek, I think) was very good. Then I had the grouper sandwich and it was very good. We ate outside on the deck and while crowded, it was not overbearing. Service was good. We will be back!

The grouper fingers lunch special was the best! Blackened grouper best I've had here! Even beats Dockside Dave's! Our server, Nicole, was the best!!Do yourself a favor, walk by crabby, Bill's and come to PJ's oyster bar, the best service and food !

Chumbo (50/50 mix of gumbo & clam chowder) with a side of garlic bread hit the spot! I just needed a quick snack before heading to the airport and this was delicious.

It's Stone Crab season and this is the place to get them. Served hot or cold with 2 sides and of course that yummy drawn butter. Make sure you grab your people, sit outside, order a cocktail and bring your appetite.

Couldn't say I enjoy this place. Food was meh at best and the price was definitely not matching the quality. Drinks were refilled twice and we just kept drinking the ice off the cups..

My second visit to PJ's was on par with my first. This time I sat inside where there is so much to look at, it kept me occupied throughout the meal. Service was good, drinks were fine but the food missed the mark. I was very put off by the fact that the shrimp I was served weren't deveined. The oysters were a hit with horseradish. Out of the three drinks our party tried, we liked the Bahama Mama the best and the Mermaid Water the least.

I haven't been here in six years and this place is worse than before. I had the buffalo shrimp as an appetizer and the hot sauce is very mild and nothing but pure grease. I sent the shrimp back because they tasted old and fishy. My husband had a buffalo chicken sandwich which he said was completely tasteless also. I doubt I'll be back in another six years.

On a Friday night our party of 6 was able to walk right in just after 6pm. The hostess stand is outside so as we were approaching the hostess greeted us and asked how we were. She brought us right to the table and informed us that the waitress would be with us in a moment that she was currently in the back assisting someone. I thought it was nice that the hostess informed us it might be a minute or two longer before we were greeted at our table. I would not recommend the shrimp scampi if you were looking for that lemon garlic flavor. The shrimp scampi was basically just butter, and for me was definitely a turn off. The grilled shrimp and broccoli dinner looked phenomenal. Forgot to take a picture before my sister dug into it. My dad got the oysters in the picture below and he said they were the best oysters he has had in a very long time. He enjoyed them so much that he ordered another dozen. Highly recommend coming here. Popular Indian Rocks Beach establishment with good everything. The French fries , if ordered "extra crispy" are so danged great. Popular place. I think they take reservations. It's not fancy.
