I was in the area and for quick food I decided to have Falafel and Hummus Wrap from Pita's Republic. The owner was good and he got my order ready in 10 minutes.I togo the wrap and ate the food at my place. The wrap was good but i believed that falafel could be crispier. As i have had better falafel than this one.

We've tried four Greek places locally, and this has been the worst by far. Getting our food delivered, there was no issues that were due to having it delivered and found everything present. Our gyros both had rotting romaine lettuce on it, which was off putting, and although we typically prefer romaine on most things, it was a let down compared to the iceberg traditionally used at most restaurants. The meat was very dry, and overall not very enjoyable. The hummus, we figured couldn't be bad, and I was excited that they had my favorite soft pitas included for dipping and were nice and warm. I tried one bite of the hummus and was weirded out... what was that flavor? Not like a lemon, but certainly something throwing it off in the worst way. I tried two or three more bites and let my boyfriend know of the flavor as my concern grew. He tried it and was disgusted, how can hummus be done so badly? Perhaps the product was old and had gone bad, and that's why the taste was sour. The pita bread ended up being the best part, and thankfully I had a container of Good & Gather Garlic Hummus from Target that we pulled out to replace the one purchased. The hummus from Pita Republic went straight into the trash and the Target hummus was much better. We agreed that this was the worst Greek we've had so far and have no interest in being back.

I can't believe I just discovered this place, better late than never! The food is super fresh and tastes amazing! I had the California Dream. The meat was well seasoned, the spices and sauces were perfectly balanced. Everything tasted so fresh, I can't wait to go back and try other menu options. I got my 9 year old son the chicken and rice bowl from the Kid's Korner menu and he pretty much inhaled his food. He's a super picky eater so Pita's Republic will be going on my short list of places at which my son will eat.

Quick, healthy, and tasty - all the ingredients I look for when I need to grab a lunch on the go. I have always been a fan of this food chain, but I have never been to this particular location. When I walked in, there was no one else waiting, so the woman took my order, then made my to-go order immediately. My Mid-East Peace wrap was delicious-the chicken in the wrap was well seasoned and very flavorful. Since I ordered my meal as a platter, it came with a generous serving of potato salad and regular salad. I love that all the vegetables seem very fresh.I definitely recommend Pita's if you're in the mood for a quick Mediterranean-style lunch.

Last week I was at a party that they catered and the food was fantastic. At the party, they had different chicken and gyro pitas, hummus, Greek salad, Spanakopita and more. Today, I decided to check out Pita's Republic for lunch and chose the Mid East Piece wrap $7, which was messy, but tasty. The service was great. There was one employee at the register and one preparing the meals. During the lunch rush, they were friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back.

Great selection of mid eastern foods such as hummus, Greek salads, gyro's, ect. Small lunch place. Employees do not engage you in any conversation. They do a good business in protein shakes as there is a fitness place in the same shopping center. The only thing I have had here that I did not like is the grape leaves, but it's not my thing. The gyro's are my staple here with potato salad and a Greek salad. It's the gyro platter. They have many other items as well including Philly cheesesteaks and chicken in pita's as well.

Pita's Republic is a fusion of classic Greek specialties along with fresh & healthy Mediterranean choices. The Pita's Republic chain began as the brainchild of Moe Elkasri who founded this Mediterranean fusion restaurant while studying for his MBA at the University of South Florida here in Tampa back in the 80s. Since that time he has opened more than a dozen Pita's Republic restaurants around the Tampa Bay region. This particular branch of Pita's Republic can be found on N. Dale Mabry Highway, less than a mile south of the intersection with Ehrlich / Bearss. The restaurant is located directly across the highway from Sweet Tomatoes, and in the same small shopping center with a Shapes health club and a mattress store. The restaurant has many favorite Greek specialties including pitas. gyros, pocket pitas, wraps, salads, and flat breads. But add to that some interesting choices such as pitas with grilled fish, shawarma (grilled beef), Philly-style steak and cheese, deli meats, tuna or chicken salad, and a big selection of vegetarian pitas. They offer wraps with Middle Eastern, Asian, Greek, Tex-Mex, and American fillings,If you prefer salads you'll find the traditional Tarpon Springs-version of a Greek salad with a scoop of potato salad, as well as several variations of chicken, and gyro meat salads. You can also have a chop which includes your choice of proteins along with lettuce, tabouli salad, rice, feta cheese, Kalamata olives and homemade Tzatziki sauce. For flatbreads you can order the typical Mediterranean choices with hummus, vegetarian, and grilled meats, or you can jazz it up and order BBQ chicken, Tuscan chicken, or Pesto chicken flat bread pizzas. They offer sides of hummus, avocado spread, falafel, tabouli salad, stuffed grape leaves, spinach pie, baklava, and a big assortment of fruit smoothies. The lady behind the counter told me that everything is made fresh to order, and all of their sauces are homemade. She said that even the pita bread is their own special recipe as a result of the owner's passion to perfect the mixture of flavor and nutrition.I had a tasty gyro pita sandwich with a small side salad, and very much enjoyed my meal. The cost was about $10, and that seemed fair given the quality of the food. Now that I know some more about this chain I will add them in to my rotation of lunch places to grab a quick, nutritious, and delicious meal.

I have been coming to Pitas for as long as I've lived in Tampa, always counting on quality, tastiness and affordability. It's changed ownership a number of times over the years and is more hole in the wall than anything else, but it was always consistently good -- until now. Prices have skyrocketed, portions are now ridiculously small, and all of the recipes are different. Chicken is seasoned with something red and lacks Mediterranean flavor, salad dressing is bogged down with vinegar, and salad now consists of a handful of shredded romaine leaves tossed with feta. All in all a huge disappointment that one of my favorites for 18 years is now off of my list of go-to's.
