Another water taxi in passing. 07-05-24
On a clear day, a water taxi is a great way to see Downtown Tampa's Riverwalk.

It was something to do. There are 2 different boats with 2 different routes that you can select from. You can ride on both these boats you don't have to choose just one, so that was a plus. One goes from the convention center over to Armature Works, so a short quick ride. The other goes from the convention center then around Harbour Island. This takes about 30-45 mins. On both of these there is someone explaining different facts about Tampa, so it's fun to learn things that just aren't known info about Tampa. The employee explaining things on the Harbour Island boat was much more personable and exited which made it better. It was fun. It's just something you do and kinda check it off the list

Went on the Christmas cruise and it was great. They had a musician on board singing Christmas songs on several different instruments. Very enjoyable although would have liked it to be a little longer.

We received free tickets for this hop on hop off water taxi as part of our hotel stay at the Tampa Edition hotel. I only have pictures of the brochure since we never actually saw one of the water taxis. We waited at stop 12 near Curtis Hixon Park for at least 15 minutes and no one came. We saw multiple other pontoon boat type vehicles passing, but none were Pirate Water Taxis. We walked along the riverwalk back toward our hotel and never saw one of these taxis. Our tickets were free so it wasn't a huge deal. I would have been furious if I had purchased tickets online. If you plan to try this while in the Tampa Bay area, I would recommend calling them to get an idea about the schedule before you purchase tickets.

We live in Tampa but hadn't visited Water Street since they built it up so we did a staycation and spent the weekend there. The Pirate Water Taxi was on our list of to do's and we had a good time. There are two different paths you can take, the River route and the island route. The island takes you out to Tampa Bay and by Bayshore and the River take you along Riverwalk. They serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks on most boats. It was interesting as they told you about the history or facts of things along the way. The captain and crew of both boats we went on were fun and funny. Florida residents get a discount (not sure if that's all the time or not) if you buy your ticket online. The ticket process was very simple. I'd certainly go on it again!!SN: the River boats seem to have AC on the back of the boats the island ones did not.

I highly recommend taking this boat tour! Not only does it take you around town (cheaper than an uber) but it's an awesome experience. Emily and Captain TJ are the best - gave us fun Tampa trivia and took great care of us! If you come to Tampa this is something you MUST DO! And happy hour beer prices - you can't beat this!

We paid for the all-day pass so we could hop on and off around Tampa Bay. It's a bit expensive for what the route is which is once an hour and one way at each stop. So if you want to go back a stop, you have to do the whole circle again. There also isn't a ton of seating, so if it's busy, I imagine the boat fills to capacity and you're out of luck.We tried to get on at Lane Park and couldn't find the pick up area. The map isn't very detailed or to scale. We then drove to Tampa General and got on there. The boat narrator wasn't great with the banter and information, but they did pick up trash with a net along the way, so that's a nice community perk.We didn't have time to fully do both paths (which is why two ways and/or more frequency would help) so unless you have time to really do that and have an itinerary when you come on and off the boat, it's hard to make $30+ a person worth it.

We had complimentary tickets for this water taxi so we decided to take advantage of the freebie for a day trip. We got on at stop 7 near the Convention Center, and went to stop 15, Armature Works. The taxi has two halves for one price. One half goes north to Armature Works, which is what we did, and the other half goes south to the aquarium/Sparksman Wharf. We did not do the second half, which would have required an easy transfer at stop 7. They give you a wristband that makes getting on and off, and transfers, easy. The ticket allows hop on and off so you literally could use the water taxi as a taxi to different places if you did not want to walk the Riverwalk. I am not sure how much tickets cost so I can't comment on the value. The price is not listed at the kiosk outside the boarding zone, so I guess you find out when you pay or when you buy online. We enjoyed the ride and being able to see the Riverwalk and different attractions from the water. The first mate on the boat was humorous and entertaining. She tried to make the trip fun and light, and for the most part she succeeded with interesting tidbits and jokes about Tampa.

Easy instructions with plenty of stops along the river and two separate itineraries. Plenty of stops on either route with one price for full day access. Great for a Tampa tour or simply sightseeing. We used it to hit the Aquarium then lunch. Clean neat and efficient. The 2 for 1 Father's Day special was great!

Tried to get on the Water Taxi at stop 10. The captain made eye contact and waved then proceeded to continue without stopping. Do not count on there being a taxi available at the designated times.

Holiday lights tour- a waste of money! There are very few lights on the river, was expecting lots more. You do get an average singer and an elf. Not what I wanted for $40. Not worth the price of admission! Save your money.
