MAN! I love this place. I've only been twice here but both times were really impressive. No, this is not a fancy place. Just a good old family restaurant. People here know each other, greet each other and wish each other "Merry Christmas". I love it. Those (like me) who don't know others here, are welcomed by nearby strangers, saying hi and being conversation friendly.On top of that! The food is really good. My only complaint about the food is they use Instant potatoes. So, I pass on the mash potatoes. But, their collards greens and other sides are really good. I should mention that their prices are really fair. Like, two piece fried chicken dinner for less than $10. Includes great fried chicken, two sides and bread.BTW, be prepared to wait on the fried chicken, as they cook it fresh. And, bring CASH.

Travel from Sebring to Bradenton about once a month or so. Always stop for breakfast and have never been disappointed. Eggs, bacon and home fries with toast. Plate is full and it tastes great. The even have scrapple, had to ask for fried without smushing it up. Was a treat. Coffee cup never gets empty and service is always spot on, even when busy. You get a warm fuzzy feeling in here, old down town feeling and always a nod or a smile when entering or leaving. Comfort atmosphere and food. Give it a try!!

My wife, Dad, and I stopped in around 830am Saturday morning. There were a half dozen tables occupied but plenty of space for us. After being seated, our server arrived for our drink order of two coffees and an OJ. No breakfast specials were shared, so we ordered off the menu. My wife picked two eggs over medium with grits, bacon, and toast. Dad ordered two scrambled eggs, sausage links, and hash browns. I also got two scrambled eggs with "limp" bacon, home fries, and toast. Everyone enjoyed their eggs. The grits came with a pool of butter in the middle which my wife promptly drained off. She likes stuff like that on the side. My limp bacon came out as desired. The hash browns looked like the rectangle ones at the fast food restaurant. The home fries were cubes that I couldn't stop eating. The toast was well prepared and tasted good with the jelly on the table. Most folks here were locals, all with interesting stories occasionally overheard. The place was filling up as we were leaving. Service was attentive and friendly, and prices were reasonable.

I got take out and it was fast and delicious when I got home. Great customer service. It was a quiet pleasant experience!

This is an old local Florida restaurant, has good clean food and great service. And it's called Pioneer restaurant!

This place was packed for breakfast so we thought it would be halfway decent to try lunch here. I had a Club sandwich that was made with ham instead of turkey. Never heard of that before. I ate it although I'm not fond of ham. There aren't many choices in the area. Breakfast probably would've been better.

Zolfo Springs = Population 1641 = 1 Yelp restaurant! Yikes! Don't get me started with the small town jokes. Hell, there are some West Virginia families bigger than this. The cattle outnumber the people and so don't the goats. If your GPS talks it might say "What in the world are you doing?" Don't be put off by the dirt parking lot.Despite all the jokes this is one fine place for breakfast. The smiling hostess will seat you at the table with the red & white checked tablecloth. The menu will have all the expected basics. The Special = your choice of eggs, potatoes, meat & bread which might be a homemade biscuit for a whopping $4.79! There are also tons of other choices. Of course your big mug of coffee will be kept filled.The neighboring conversations will likely include the latest gater sighting. Of course the trials and tribulations of the locals will also be dissected.This is small town America at its very best and despite all the jokes you will absolutely feel comfortable here. Highly recommended! BTW- Cash only. Those newfangled charge cards are only for the city slickers.

Food very good. Had the catfish whole. Soooo yummy. Grits, greens and hush puppies were very good as well. Service was good. We were only two in the restaurant. Just a down to earth, older but clean restaurant. No alcohol and NO credit cards. Cash only. We will definitely go back. Peach cobbler was very good.

I had a terrible experience at this place. They only accept cash, which is inconvenient. Additionally, the food was subpar; I couldn't believe they couldn't even cook a simple egg properly. The cleanliness was also a major issue. I won't be returning.

went here with a papered service dog and was told she couldn't come in. And was VERY rude about it!!
