I was in the area when I really wanted a different bite to eat after getting my hair done. Passing by the window and seeing the menu, I thought a Gyro would definitely hit the spot. So when I was done with my haircut, I walked right into the restaurant. Immediately, upon walking through the door, I no longer felt like I was in Tampa, but transported to another country. The walls are full of imported groceries and specialties. The place was clean, spotless with a homey feel to it. The service here was great and they acknowledged me right away upon arrival and gave me time to make my selection. Well, I wasn't SUPER hungry, so I went for the gyro pita and a side of the cucumber, tomato, onion side dish seasoned with some mint to round it all out. All the ingredients here were fresh, the pita was hot, and the gyro soft and bursting with flavor. When I was finished, they thanked me for stopping by. Definitely need to come back here and get myself a bigger plate next time! I notice they had some tasty Persian desserts.

Persia House of Kababs is one of the few restaurants that serves Persian food in Tampa. It's a great place to come if you're craving Persian food (and you can also stock up on some Persian groceries). The servers are always very welcoming and happy to answer any questions about the menu. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly modern, but still has a cozy feel.I ordered the chelo kabob koobideh and added a side of jujeh kabob. Of course, I also had to get a doogh (yogurt soda). The koobideh (ground meat) was juicy and had that nice beef/lamb flavor. The rice was buttery and cooked perfectly. The jujeh kabob (chicken) was moist with a delicious grilled flavor. I always love the grilled tomatoes on the side.I would definitely recommend this place for good Persian food in Tampa Bay!

1st off. I grew up around Persians and Armenians and is very spoiled with their flavors...If you come here you have to order Their Hummus is AMAZING!!! A must order!!!Their Jujeh Kabob ( boneless chicken) is one of better ones Ive had ... Their Soltani (beef and beef koodibhe ) was loved by my 2 meat eaters.Their sharazi salad mixed with your koodibeh or Their jujeh chicken is the business...Service was awesome!!! Even though its our first time here. We were treated like regulars; by the staff. This is a must visit for me and my family if and when we come to Tampa. It was worth the 1hr drive from New Port Richey.

A casual Persian spot that satiates my constant desire for middle eastern food, at least when I am in the University area of Tampa. Affordable and good quality. I got a persian tea, salad, and koobiden platter for $20! A great deal. Got my standard order for a Persian place (persian tea, tomato/cucumber/onion salad, and koobiden platter). All was authentic and quite good for $20! A great deal. Have had better Persian food but this is perfect for the price and considering what is available locally. SEE PICS for more detail on the food and current menu. The restaurant is attached to a small grocery with folks wearing many hats, so don't come here expecting 5 star service. Would be a great take-out spot if I lived closer.

I am half-Iranian and absolutely LOVE Persian cuisine. When I lived in South Florida, I had a number of good restaurants from which to choose... so upon moving here, I was rather dismayed to find only TWO Persian restaurants in the entire Tampa Bay area. Thankfully, Persia House of Kabobs is only about 15 minutes from my house, because the other restaurant (Mirage in Clearwater) is a bit more of a trek. While this is more of a fast-casual restaurant, the quality of the food is on point. They don't have all of the varieties larger restaurants would have (such as my favorite Persian dish, fesenjan, or my favorite dessert, falloodeh), but their kabobs are very well done.I usually order the jujeh (chicken) or koobideh (ground beef) kabobs, or they have a combo where you can get one skewer of each. The chicken is marinated and so flavorful, and the beef has a good amount of spices mixed in. And their Persian rice (which I prefer to other styles, it's not sticky since it gets rinsed multiple times before cooking) is pretty good. Each meal also comes with must o'khiar, which is a cucumber yogurt dip with mint and other herbs and spices. It's one of my favorite things to order at any Persian restaurant so I'm happy it's included with the meal! They also include a large pita, although I wish they had lavash bread instead (it's a papery thin bread that I love dipping in the yogurt).Don't forget to ask for some sumac for your kabobs or rice, they have them in little to-go packets!

I have eaten in great Persian restaurants and this was not one of them. The menu advertises that the Barg was made from tenderloin but had the toughness of skirt steak. It was in the Soltoni with a koobideh kabob which seemed to be "warmed" as opposed to be freshly made and grilled. It lacked the juices that are evident with fresh grilling - my guess is that they use frozen and warm when ordered. When seated I asked if the fresh herbs with feta cheese appetiser was available for the table (5) and the waiter said everything was available. At previous restaurants in Houston and Los Angeles these were an integral part of the dining experience. At the end of the meal, I asked for the Persian ice cream dessert and found that it too was unavailable even though it was just an hour from opening their doors for customers. I will continue to look for a suitable location for good Persian food.

I really don't know why this place isn't packed all the time. The food is consistently fabulous. The chicken is the best I've ever had at any restaurant. The flavors are amazing. Everything is delicious. The house salad is fresh and crisp with a really good dressing. Yesterday, I had the koobideh and couldn't believe how flavorful, tender and juicy the meat was. I often get the shirazi salad. It too is always fresh and crisp. You won't be disappointed or leave there hungry!
