This is old Tarpon Springs at its best. The guy outside hawking the diners to come in for Greek food is the start. The restaurant is spacious Food is great- we ordered the saganaki-OpaSpinach pie is very goodLemon soup a little too gelatinous Gyro portion very generous and tastyGreek salad with potato salad on the bottom was dressed perfectly.Prices very reasonable.Chris our waiter kept the food coming and drinks refilled . Great service with a great attitude. We always order too much food and have not tried dessert here.

First trip to Tarpon Springs. Saw good reviews and decided to swing in. the menu was pretty limited but my husband and I decided on the Greek salad and one of the platters. it took a while for our server to get to us to order but they eventually made it. My husband wanted a beer and asked for "one of the Greek beers" as there weren't any descriptions or options on the menu. Our server wrote it down and went on their way. My husband then commented that they must only have one Greek beer, because he wasn't given any options; the menu didn't list any specific beers either. After our drinks arrived I noticed our server smoking a cigarette outside on the sidewalk right outside the restaurant and right next to other dining tables. This was unsettling, and I kind of didn't want them handling our food after that. However, our food arrived promptly and was very good. I was surprised to find potato salad in my Greek salad, but it worked! The gyros were delicious as well and the pita bread was great. At one point we wanted more tzatziki sauce but our server was no where to be found. After a while they finally stopped by and we were able to ask for more sauce and our check. All together it was not the best experience. The food was very good butit was the experience that will keep us away. I find it unacceptable to have employees smoking out front of the restaurant, ESPECIALLY when it is in the outdoor dinning area. I am sure there is an area behind the restaurant that they can smoke if they need to. If I would have seen then when looking for a restaurant, I would have kept on walking.

The best gyro EVER. We are from Indianapolis and tried this spot while on Florida vacation. My friends had the classic lamb gyro and I had the chicken gyro. I loved the chicken, but then when I tried a bite of their lamb, I was a little sad I didn't just get that. So so so good! They cover it in tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, onions and tomatoes. Nothing is skimped on. Also get their Greek fries - they had seasoning on them and crumbled feta. One order is enough to share between 3-4 people. Besides the delicious food, they have a huge selection of desserts in a case to choose from. We were all pretty stuffed from the main food but decided to split some of the desserts - and they were also great. Side note - they also serve some select beer and wine. Definitely check this place out if you are shopping in the Spongedocks. So worth it!!!

Although the decor looks a little outdated, do not let that fool you. The food is FANTASTIC!! All of the hummus was AMAZING, the pita was fresh, the spanakopita was simply DELICIOUS!!! It wasn't crowded and the service was wonderful!! Stop in here and eat before going to the crowded neighbor down the street. The prices here are great and I can't say enough how delicious the food is!! Very authentic!!

Our FAVORITE restaurant in Tarpon Springs! Full of friendly, interesting people and the food is fantastic. On our first visit, we met our waiter Shawn who was so personable and sweet---really chill guy who is just all about customer service. Fresh, large portions fill your plate---my date loved the gyro and got it here every single time. I enjoyed it as well. Loved the flaming sagakani (perfect for special occasions), Greek fries and finally their salad as I was so done with eating meat at the end of our trip lol (We ended up eating here at least once a day because it was do good!). It got to the point where the staff knew us adn we came with a large group which was served like family. All of our meals came out at the same time, hot and fresh. This is the place to come for food.Totally worth every penny.

Yep, this is the diner version to the sister restaurant Hellas. It is more of a Greek-American fusion diner feel. The octopus was a generous portion for the price. It is broiled not fried or grilled making it tender and not chewy at all. With some olive oil and lemon, just pops deliciousness. The Black Grouper sandwich is a must as Broiled and it is caught fresh sources locally. And to finish off with their famous Baklava Cheesecake is just a perfect cadence to the gastronomical adventure. Ask Chris for spot on recommendations not a miss. Enjoy and Opah!

We took our out of state visiting friend to Tarpon Springs...shopping, sight seeing and lunch...of course. We had lunch at The Parthenon. George the manager was friendly & welcoming, Shawn our server gave perfect service and our lunch of gyros was...tasty. Tom is part Greek so the atmosphere and food were an extra treat for him...OPA!

Best place we have been in Tarpon yet. Really enjoyed it, fair prices, not touristy (yet). Closes early though out of season (New Years to Mothers Day).Kids don't really like cheese, but when that flaming sagakani came to the table, they couldn't get enough. Sometimes this cheese is too salty, not here.Next, Lamb gigantic gyro- standard gyro-yumminess, would suggest a more even spread of the taziki sauce. A substantial-4-2 amount of thin sliced meat. Fries are $2 extra.Greek salad, with a creamy potato salad which was how a Greek salad potato salad should be (NO mustard), chunks of feta, cuke, olives tomato and no onions, by request. They did not offer anchovies- odd in my opinion.Kalamari- skip it. Tender, when I had a piece that actually had meat in it. Otherwise, just crisp outer coating.Show-stopper ---broiled octopus. Wow!!! Tender, fresh seasoned in simple lemon, olive oil (slight for the cooking process) oregano. Really good. My first time eating octopus this way and I am happy I did! Didn't try dessertGood stuff here at Parthenon.

Even at 11:30 on a weekday, the owner is outside with a smile on his face, beaming with pride. He shouts, "Opa!" And lists items he thinks the people will like. Good news is, people DO like it! Lunch for us was a couple of salads. We had one Greek and one village salad. Both salads were dressed with the most delicious homemade dressing. Yup, save your pita to sop up the dressing and natural juices from the salad. The Greeks call that zoumí...at least my dad does. Delicious food friendly attentive service. Highly recommended!
