I really liked Parthenon! I swear it was one of my best meals all week since I haven't been feeling well.We ordered a few appetizers including saganaki, calamari, and broiled octopus. Of course the saganaki and Octopus was the best.We also ordered gyros, pork souvlaki, and a fried cod fish sandwich. My order was the pork souvlaki! It was really good. The tzatiki sauce stood out as different than I have had at other places. Our service was impeccable. Our server was very cheerful. The owner was cheerfully inviting people in for lunch or dinner! He was really nice and funny too.We can't help but be happy that this restaurant is dog friendly, and nicely shaded! This is a fun Greek Choice on the Sponge Docks right next to the Sponge Exchange and across the street from the Sponge boats on the water.

Spent a few hours in Tarpon Springs and we needed to eat. Being that most of the restaurants there are so similar (Greek area, greek food), we happened to walk past Parthenon and decided this was it. It is a little cheesily decorated. Big murals and fake brassy gold items. Our server was ok, seemed a little put off to be working, but no outright issues. The restaurant seemed to fill up more the longer we dined and kept the servers busier. Food was good, portion sizing being the pro here. Meat in my gyro was plentiful. Taste was good too. Other ordered flatbreads and again they filled a whole large plate. Cant say they were the best ingredients, but filled us up. Overall ok experience. Maybe for a more authentic meal try somewhere nearby.

If you like authentic gyros this is the place. Full of delicious meat at a fair price. For once quality was not sacrificed for quantity. Oh hubby enjoyed ice cold beers at a great price. Service was attentive and genuine without being annoying. Five stars

Tried this place for dinner. The menu is a little thin, and seems heavy on sandwiches and such.We had the souvlaki platter with chicken skewers, flat bread, and "greek" fries. The portions were very large, and the food was quite tasty. We also had the strawberry sangria, which was nicely made. The service was excellent -- Trent did a great job.The prices were maybe a little on the high side, but not bad considering this is a real touristy area. All in all, I would definitely go back again.

The food is good and the people are super nice. This is the kind of place where the owner is seating people, clearing tables, and generally just making sure everyone is happy... a lot different from the corporate chain restaurants that dominate nowadays and more to our liking. The fact that I chose 4 stars doesn't mean anything negative... it's just that I try to reserve 5 stars for places that really stand out in some way.

Every year, when we go to Florida, my husband and I visit Tarpon Springs, and every year, we have to eat Greek food at the Parthenon. I ate here for the first time a few years ago, and since then, I have to go back every year on vacation. The service is good - everyone is so friendly and they do a great job of making sure their customers are satisfied. I've never had a bad meal there, nor a bad service experience. I always get the tzatziki appetizer, and even though they don't give you a lot of pita bread, they bring you lots of regular bread to keep eating it up.... this is one of my favorite dishes! My husband always gets a gyro and he says that without fail, the lamb is always amazing. I always get the Greek Salad - some may think it's just a salad, but underneath the salad is a generous scoop of warm potato salad .... if you don't expect it, it's a really pleasant surprise! You get to the bottom and all that creamy warm potato salad mixes with the Greek dressing for an amazing combo. Yumm! Their pastries are also yummy .... I wish there was a place like this in NJ - I would eat there once a week!

Cheese pie was okay but certainly not the best I've had. The bakery was packed and the staff wasn't too helpful. We did not try any of the pastries but they looked good.
