Pams Roti Shop & Caribbean Market

My family was in Saint Petersburg for a wedding and happened upon this roti shop. This is a humble little spot with big flavors. My family got the jerk, chicken, chicken, curry, potato, curry, and some doubles. The nice gentleman at the counter let us know that it will take some time because everything is cook to order. We were happy to wait. Our food came out piping hot and delicious. Everything was tasty and fresh and the roti was soft and wonderful. The doubles were full of flavor and the tamarind sauce was nice on the side . We washed down with some ginger beer. With our belly full, we laughed, and then I realized I left my purse. There I called, and the nice gentleman at the counter answer the phone, remember, my name, and held my purse for me until I came back. We really we're happy to find this place and enjoyed the delicious food and wonderful service will absolutely be back when we are in Saint Pete.

Pam's has the best jerk chicken roti wrap. I get extras, cut in half, wrap in plastic wrap and freeze. I'm not close to them and you always have to call beforehand and order for take out. Give them ample time. They make everything from scratch. Get extra cabbage on the side. Get their hot house made hot sauce.

I just had a few beef patties here. They were delicious! Spicy and savory and they came out of the kitchen piping hot. I want to try the doubles and some of the other made to order Caribbean goodies. It may take a bit of time, but I think it's likely to be worth it. I the little specialty grocery store here is awesome too!

So I've wanted to try Pam's Roti shop for a long time. A couple a weeks ago I just happen to be on 38th Ave and I noticed the roti shop. Zoomed over a couple and lanes and made it to Pam's Roti shop. When you first walk in you're hit will the smell of yummy spices and array of products in there min market . They even carry my favorite curry . The gentleman that I think runs the place was great. He explained there dishes and the difference between the various curries and told me about where they are from and they type.of curry they sell. He also explained the difference types of roti. With his suggestion I settled on the chicken roti wrap ( sorry I don't remember the proper name ) . I also ordered a beef patty, which they make daily and a ball made of tamarind, sugar and a few other things. The curry wrap was huge! It was nice and hot, made fresh. Lots of flavor with tender chicken, dhal, potatoes and a couple veggies . I think there were more potatoes than veggies right now due to COVID and having a hard time getting certain vegetables. As for the beef patty, I think it was my favorite. It was flaky but kinda of crispy also. And the beef was flavored just right... seriously delish. It was easy to eat since it's in it's own pouch :-)As for the tamarind ball, I'm sure it's great but it's not for me. It was my first time having tamarind and it's kind of sour. I gave the other two to my friend and they loved them. So if you haven't been here, check it out. Delicious, fresh food with friendly service .

I had the lamb roti, doubles and beef patty. Everything was delicious. Everyone was friendly and professional. I would definitely be going back again.

I called ahead for pickup before I got too hungry because I read from other reviews that wait time could be long. I made sure to get a beef patty and also tried the curry shrimp wrap and a side of their sautéed cabbage. The wait for the shrimp was 45 mins, as everything is made to order (except the patties- those are made daily), which I was prepared for so not an issue. Everything tasted fresh and spices weren't overbearing. The beef patty was glorious with just the right amount of spice and very fresh, scarfed it down in the car. I ate half of the shrimp wrap and half of the cabbage together and they complimented each other well. Shrimp were grilled and huge, but just wish there were more of them. The wrap is big but this is mostly the curry sauce (yum), potatoes, and the roti wrap. Next time may try the shrimp platter option w/ rice and peas instead. Seemed pretty authentic to me although most of the beef patties I have consumed in my life have come from pizzarias where they are slathered with tomato sauce and cheese, so my Caribbean food authenticity meter may be a tad off!I will be back!

Very disappointed to write this review however if either the chicken, goat, doubles was tasty I would not have taken time but since I drove 1.5hr to try i decided I must speak up.I would not recommend to spend hard earned dinero.....the flour used in the doubles was not airy & light but tasted rancid and spoilt. The chicken & goat was cut into small cubes like feeding a kid and was not tasty. Recommendations: try out other authentic chefs.

Excellent food- great service and very clean. The place to go if you're looking for home cooking island food. Home away from home.

I recently stopped by Pam's Roti shop to get some curry goat with roti. My family and I were on vacation and thought it would be a great place to stop by and get some home food.The price was above what I expected @ around $18.00But I did not mind. I ordered the roti separately as to not have it too soft.When I opened the box with the goat meat I was beyond belief for the 4 very small pieces of goat and 2 pieces of pure bone. I then opened the roti only to find a very small version of a roti.The taste was not that great and I was disappointed to say the least.They had to have known that there was very little food in the box and the smallest roti I have ever seen.The gentleman at the counter was very polite and kind, that's the only reason they got 1 star.I don't know why any roti shop would rob their customers.In my estimation Pam's roti shop does not care about customer satisfaction.I will never return to that facility!!

Loved the food and the owner is good people. In my opinion it felt very welcoming like you were visiting family.
