Another great little find in South Tampa. I stopped into grab a healthy snack. I had been here once before and was floored by how awesome the customer service is here! The owner asked how my day was going and helped me find some vitamins for my wife. He explained its contents and answered my questions. Interior: clean and well-labeled aisles.Parking: crowded but I found a spot within two mins.Price: a bit pricey but it isn't a chain store and it sells healthy stuff. It's going to be more expensive, but worth it to support local businesses.*update* there is no more cafe or juice bar. Apparently their lease ran out and closed up shop. The health food and vitamin shop is still there, though.

I accidentally took a wrong turn and found Village Health Market, and I am so glad I did! Initially, I was planning on ordering all of my supplements online, so when I came across the store, I was excited to see everything I had wanted in the store. I love that my purchases go towards a small business! Everyone working was super friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable on the products they carry. I will be coming here much more often, and I highly recommend you do the same!

Hassle to return anything and there's a 14 day return policy. Kind of stringent considering most stores are generally more flexible. Wont be coming back.

Yeap 4 stars! This place is pretty cool, I love this little market. Staff members are super sweet, always acknowledge when you pass them. They carry vitamins of all sorts, my folks buy most of their medicines from here. Not much produce, there are few fruits and veggies displayed near the back of the store. The produce isn't cheap either, more expensive than whole foods. They have amazing snack products. My favorite would be the millet and flax cinnamon chips. Wow! So much flavor and very addicting. It's not like your typical chip, it's quite crunchy. They also carry the garlic flavored chip, highly garlicky. I mostly come for the cafe, they have amazing hot and cold selections. Also, freshly made sandwiches, smoothies, juices, rotisserie chicken and salad bars. The food selection changes everyday but there's always 4-5 different kinds of chicken salads, salmon and veggie skewer (one of my favorite) and so much more. Give this place a try, you won't regret it.

I am amazed I have never been in here before. I was out of carrot juice & driving by, so I stopped in. I was really shocked and pleased with the a mundane of products they offered. The staff was super friendly, very knowledgeable and quite helpful. I was on a mission on this visit and really did not take the time to inspect the store & compare prices, which I normally do.I defiantly was impressed and will be back, to check things out in more detail. What's a girl to do? Good and less expensive healthy stores are hard to find.

Village Health Market and I are having a love affair. It's one of those "it's what's inside that counts" kind of places, because it's a little unmanicured and disheveled at first glance.Buried deep inside is a deli/freshly prepared food area that makes me smile, giggle and return for another date. I'm actually amazed that this section of the store survives, because no one is really talking about it (at least not to me), Pane Rustica is a next-door distraction, and conglomerates likes Whole Foods, Greenwise and Fresh Market are so much more appealing on many levels (mostly aesthetic). However, VHM is LOCAL, and I can walk or bike to it, making it a clear favorite. And most nights, I don't want the full "night out" that Pane insists upon, so it again becomes a savior. If you live near and haven't been, do a neighborhood deed and have lunch or dinner here soon. I've been impressed with MANY of the lunch/dinner specials (the black beans are so freakin' good ... that tofu/rice/nut thing is fantastic as well).Wish-list item: - I "wish" the per-pound prices for the deli-case items were a bit more competitive. I'm still paying about $7.99/pound for nearly everything, which is what Greenwise, Whole Foods, etc. all are. I just expect a bit more of a bargain here, even if that's wrong of me. :-/

The Village Health Market is where I go when I can't find "it" at Whole Foods. Don't let the nondescript exterior fool you, it's actually a fairly large grocery store tucked into a strip mall with an enormous selection of vitamins and supplements, a full deli, a cafe, a small wine department and a great frozen foods section too. Their bulk spice department is really handy for when I have a recipe calling for a tablespoon of something I don't use on a regular basis, and they have a great selection of bulk organic and raw dried fruits, nuts, legumes and grains to choose from. They have a nice selection of gluten-free, vegan and organic foods with a larger variety than any other local store I've visited. Of course, you will pay handsomely for anything you purchase here - the same item would cost about 15-20% less at Whole Foods, in my experience, but you can negate that by shopping on the 3rd Wednesday of every month (Wild Wednesday) or the last Saturday of the month (Saturday Sale) when you get 20% off everything storewide. The next time you're having lunch at Pane Rustica stop by The Village Health Market just a few storefronts down, if you're even the least bit health conscious I think you'll love it!

After searching all around the health stores of Tampa for decent meat and fish, I choose Village Health Market for I get personalized service. On Wild Wednesdays when everything is 20% off, my wife and I pile up the meat and fish as if we own a restaurant. The other neat part of Village Health is the huige deli and small restaurant. You can select a whole week's meals just from the deli. Organic food is costly so go online to Village Health and find their special sales on vitamins and products.

WOW! This place is SO great, and much bigger than I expected it to be. When you walk in it almost feels like the setup is awkward and you don't really know whats where or where to start... BUT just be brave & don't fear looking like a space cadet! If you're not shopping for supplements or natural cleaning/ body care type products (which they have LOTS OF) just walk straight back and veer right! You'll see the awesome selection of groceries (tons of Amy's organic soups etc) & thennnn you'll find this awesome Cafe/deli and Juice bar!I haven't been able to get into juicing because I much rather eat a ton of awesome fruits and veggies so I bought a sweet potato moussaka and it tasted SO GOOD I've been angry with myself all day for not buying 2 slices yesterday! They also have a really nice & user friendly website with lots of information and opportunities to get involved with recipes etc. I REALLY LOVE THAT!!!!This is truly just a wonderful community market all around!
