Discovered a hidden gem today. A veteran's support group I am involved in wanted to meet for lunch. One member suggested Palm Cafe, inside the Dunedin Fine Arts Museum on Michigan Ave. I expected a coffee shop with maybe some pastries. Wow, was I wrong! Not just coffee and soft drinks, but fresh made sandwiches and salads, plus specials, and desserts. One of their specials was an Argentine Red Shrimp Roll. I would love to try that but I planned to get a cup of soup and Cuban sandwich. I planned to take half the sandwich home to my wife, and not sure she would like the Shrimp. Two of my companions ordered the BLT sandwiches. Hmm I knew they had eaten here before, should have followed their lead. Our fourth chose the Roasted Pork Belly sandwich. We gave our orders, got dinks and chose a table. Within a few minutes our meals came.My cup of Clam Chowder was creamy, seasoned perfectly, and delicious. The same with my Cuban, also my side of potato salad. The BLTs were not only huge, but had a massive amount of bacon. Both gentlemen loved it. Our fourth enjoyed his Roasted Pork Belly sandwich. But I could tell he was also jealous of the BLTs! Next time I will definitely get the BLT... or maybe their Special! Oh and I also bought a piece of yummy Peanut Butter Cheesecake to take home - and my wife did get half!Great food, nice portions, great values. Service was great. I did not expect table service but did get it. And what a spectacular ambiance with artwork surrounding the cafe. Check it out!

This place is definitely a hidden gem when it comes to breakfast, coffee and art. The person who served us was gracious and very friendly, attentive and super accommodating. I got regular coffee (which she brewed right as we got there so it was fresh) which was very good. I also got: Avocado Toast and an Egg, Bacon and Cheese on Cuban Bread. Both items exceeded my expectations. They were really delicious and the presentation was very well thought out. The cafe closes around 2-2:30 so get there early and sit and sip coffee among beautiful art and serene atmosphere. Check out the gift shop and don't miss the exhibits.

I have never had a bad meal there. Chef is wonderful and very thoughtful. I seriously had the best club sandwich I've ever had in my life. The Cuban sandwich is absolutely delicious. Certainly enough for two meals. it's super convenient with outdoor or indoor dining depending on the weather and honestly, it should be busier.

Decided to get an early lunch here after touring the Arts Center. How people aren't lined up for this cafe is a mystery! So welcoming (thanks Jersey!) and so reasonably priced. We shared the Ban Meih sandwich & a mac&cheese side. Fresh! And the mac&cheese was probably the best we've had outside of home! This local gem will be a spot for us to visit whenever we're in town!

This cafe is part of the larger Dunedin Art Center. The limited menu is cooked by one friendly chef who often serves the tables. Everything is delicious. While the cafe lacks ambience it makes viewing the art at the Center a nice addition. Be sure to try the tomato basil soup and a grilled cheese sandwich.

Really high-quality food. The chef is clearly very skilled. It's my favorite cuban in the area, but really, everything on the menu is excellent. Affable and pleasant service to boot.

Wow!!!! That is the easiest way to describe the outstanding Cuban sandwich that I recently had at the Palm Cafe in the Dunedin Fine Art Center on Michigan Avenue. Without a doubt the best one I have ever had. Done to perfection as the saying goes. A bountiful Cuban that was anything but dry. It was great to have a Cuban with a little bit of moisture to it, sure did slide down easy. My luncheon partner had a grilled cheese and he was more than pleased with it. Hopefully, headed back there this next week for a repeat. Oh,and don't forget to checkout the desserts (if you have room for it) they are fantastic.
