Pa' Los Chinos Restaurant - Lakeland

Just went here for lunch today with a small group. Chicken & broccoli, Philly steak roll and plantains were all very good. A little bit salty but good none the less. Prices are a bit high, however the portion sizes were good. Will definitely return.

This was a never-again for me. First off we waited 37 minutes for our meals. While the place is clean, it's super dark and smells like your sitting in a bottle of cleaner. I actually had to go outside for some fresh air because I was getting a headache. The seats are smashed together and it was extremely uncomfortable. Due to smell, cramped seating and overall volume when we eventually got our food we opted to go sit in the car and eat. After waiting for 37 minutes you'd at least expect to get hot food right? Nope! Neither the wife nor I was a fan of either meal.

So, a friend of ours told us about this Chinese place in Lakeland which food taste just like the Chinese foot they sell in Puerto Rico. In Puerto Rico, there is this Chinese place that we normally eat at because is great, called "Confianza China" and when I was told that there was a place within driving distance where I could enjoy the same food, it was no hard decision. There is just something so special about eating Chinese rice with some meat and French fries as a side. We went to Universal, and after paying $20 for a hotdog, everything else outside of Universal felt like a great deal. What I noticed was that when I entered the name of this restaurant in Waze, a bunch of them popped up, in Orlando and surrounding areas. But, since the one my friend told me about, was the one Lakeland, we decided to visit that one. I have to say that the location does not look like much from outside, but there is plenty of sitting area inside. The staff was very professional and helpful with their menu questions. I must say that we were not disappointed with the food. Amount of food they serve you is for an entire week. Lol. They serve you plenty of food, and they serve in take-out containers and for a good reason, you will most likely not be able to finish your food, so you will just eat the rest later. No need to ask for a container later. We ordered their garlic fried green plantains, or "tostones con ajo" which were delicious. You will definitely not have any problems with vampires after eating them. We also ordered a few other plates, which I am including pictures, but I have to say, this place does not disappoint as all their plates tasted great. We live 34 miles from this restaurant, and I which is was closer, but it is what it is, I'll just have to drive 34 miles to get more great food from this place.

Stopped off here on the way to Orlando for a quick bite to eat since I was stuck on interstate with back to back traffic. Never been here but heard good things about this place from mutual friends but this was really just basic Chinese to go food nothing special at all. Took over 30 mins to get one combo plate (orange chicken with double fried rice). Chicken and rice were just ok nothing out of the ordinary or special. Did not come with a lot of protein at all mainly rice. I subbed the fries for extra rice bc I was unable to sub for anything else. Wish they allowed you to choose between fries or an egg roll because fries with Chinese food doesn't really mix well for me. Restaurant is set up weird, they do not come to your table to place your order you go up to counter. Took way too long for one meal and how dead this place was. Overall it was a very mediocre experience for me and probably would not go back.

I was craving Chinese and my hubby is Puertorican. We found this gem and OMG loved it. Very tasty, he said it took him back to PR and it's what puertoricans crave when they come here to the US. We will definitely be back

Terrible food almost non-existent service and super shady feeling pick up location. If you enjoy Chinese food and not hot garbage this is definitely not the place for you.

I had a disastrous first experience and don't need to return. This is essentially a take out place, not using space or advertising well. While they are proud of their Puerto Rican "take" on Chinese food, they seem to want to exclusively serve Puerto Ricans rather than teach or risk other experiences by the masses. The order desk is near the door so if there are 3 in line, you are already backed up out the door. Essentially, you order at the line and seat yourself on a bench for your own pick-up at a window around the corner. They all you to sit and eat at tables but do not provide any service or clean-up. Tables were dirty. The wait was long. The preference was Spanish, some knew no English. They were not friendly. Parking not easy. They serve a lot of food for a higher price. Fried rice is standard and very dry. Their orange chicken did not taste orangey. There were no vegetables on the plate. Welcome to lots of rice and french fries with a meat with it. bleh. not for me. Very little social media presence or marketing for their own success.

I hardly ever do reviews unless it's really bad or really good. It's in the old rib house. It's go to the counter and order but nothing to tell you to do this. They need a sign place your order here! The lady was on the phone so we just stood there feeling stupid. The menu is so small even with my reading glasses I couldn't read it until I was right up to the lady to order because there was a line. There are no choices of sides. They give you food in a to go container even if you eat in. I got garlic chicken and it comes with fried rice and French fries. No other choice that I could see. That's two starches and chicken was no vegetable soooo. I couldn't even eat my French fries because the chicken juice was all over my French fries. So those went in the trash. The chicken was tasty but salty and the fried rice was very good. They give you a good portion. I probably won't go back because for what I got I'd rather go to Peking house and get soup and eggroll and there are options to get vegetables. And it's served on a plate.

Visited this place Dec 1st ordered shrimp fried rice and chicken broccoli. Well the fried rice was salty and the chicken broccoli was even saltier I'm very disappointed called them and ask to speak to a manager.,he came on the phone I told him about the excessive salt in the food and he said it was a corporate decision,,like what!! he said that's how they want it done which is a load of crap ..don't belive this is a corporation. There food just sucks.

100% horrible, they over charged me 70$ for just 2 adults and 1 child.Food was disgusting, old and bland and we where sick all night throwing up and stomach aches. When I called to try and Atleast get partial refund they turned me down and I even told them we couldn't finish the food, I still have all the food they charged me cause it was not good at all or edible to show I wasn't lying I was more then happy to take it back to them and they said no! The tostones where brown old and disgusting the rice was horrible like it was re heated. Honestly they lost a customer and from what I can see from other reviews the lost plenty more. Want some actual good Chinese or Puerto Rican go to ANTOJITOS NAVIDEÑOS.
