Old Bay Cafe

This place has been on my bucket list forever and I finally had the opportunity to stop by today. Best kept secret in town! There's a reason the crab cakes sell out. I ordered the crispy crap rolls and my husband got the famous crab cake sandwich. The service and owner is amazing! It's BYOB so bring your own alcohol and have a blast! Cool outdoor seating atmosphere. You would pass it over and over again without noticing. Come check it out! Our food was absolutely amazing. They are open Tuesday-Saturday 11:30-6pm and Sunday 11:30-4pm.

Small outside hole in the wall spot off the side of the road with mostly picnic bench seating. The menu is pretty limited and probably awesome for people all about seafood and old bay seasoning. I like a lot of seafood but this wasn't up my alley, just wish there were more options. What I had was pretty good- mini crab cake balls and hush puppies, they were good but not the best I've had. Others in my group had fish and chips and I noticed a lot of the batter fell off and seemed kind of messy. The service was friendly but slow, I'm sure this is due to everything being made as ordered which is good. Anything is worth a try at least once so I'd still recommend to people looking for something different.

Love this place, not much on atmosphere but their Crabcakes are outstanding, had the potato salad as a side which was really, really good. Always make it a stop when in Florida.

I fell hard for this place when it opened! Tiny shack of a kitchen, outdoor seating, no where location in front of a cow pasture- but they make da best crab cakes! This was a once a week lunch when I used to live here & my boys were addicted to the crab cakes & the crab bisque! Crab cakes- no fillers, no peppers, onions, bread crumbs... Just crab & old bay & whatever they use to hold it all together.I used to chat with the owner all the time I was such a regular! I was thrilled to grab my son and run over for an impromptu lunch! We ordered the crab cake sandwich and a bowl of the crab bisque to share and 2 lemonades- did I mention their lemonade is delicious? And very complimentary to the seafood. Service is always with a smile! And in the years I have been in Jax- they have built a roof to cover the outdoor picnic tables~ making it better to avoid that hot Florida sun. It is a BYOB if you choose. I REALLY miss eating here regularly! Locals- this is a crab cake treasure right here!

A cute little cafe right on the water in downtown Dunedin. After riding our bikes all over town, we decided to stop for a quick bite and some cold beverages. Great atmosphere, nice staff and great views.

Very interesting, a strong "old Florida" vibe. If you like crab cake this is the place to visit, just don't expect fine dining. Seating is outdoors at picnics tables. Price seems a little high, but I'm not a crab cake lover so that may be coloring my review.

We enjoyed the crab cake and the price was good. Also, the server was very informative and personable.

Best crab cakes around, friendly staff. Being from the northeast I appreciate a good Maryland crab cake.

Just had lunch at Old Bay Cafe in Trinity, FL & felt like I was back in Maryland with the food. Marty & Channel thanks for an amazing lunch! The food was so incredible I had to get a crab cake & shrimp salad burrito to bring home for dinner! Channel gave us such cheerful and accommodating service while Marty made us one of the best meals I've had while in FL. Crab cake was a massive 5 oz all lump crab cake- broiled perfectly on the outside. And they are right when they say they don't fake the cake! My husband had the old bay tenders with homemade old bay potatoe chips. He was raving after every bite! We are looking forward to this becoming our new Saturday lunch spot! I couldn't believe how cheap the prices were for such quality food! 10/10 must try spot!! If you are a former native Marylander or just a local that loves great food this is a must go!
