A nice home town bakery! Everything is so fresh! I didn't know what New Year's bread was, and it's a loaf of bread basically round and it has a coin in it and whoever gets the slice with the coin is guaranteed good fortune in the year 2025. I thought this was a great tradition to start.I had the macaroons, and my companion had the wedding cookies. Both of them were the best I've ever had, and it's to my understanding that this bakery provides baked goods for the majority of the Greek restaurants here in our little City Of Tarpon Springs. The service was absolutely wonderful, the lady that helped us was thoughtful and kind and knew exactly what everything in the case was. There was so much to choose from. It was really hard to make a decision in the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from Tarpon's oldest bakery, and it was really unique .It's off the beaten track and as many years as I've lived here, I never knew it was there until we were just strolling around the downtown area and stumbled upon it.The food was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures, but I certainly wish I would've but I will definitely be back and I believe that I will become quite the regular loyal customer that is truly that good. Happy New Year!

They don't make bakeries like this anymore. About an hour north of Tampa is the small town of Tarpon Springs, AKA "Greek Town." A large population of Greek immigrants have called Tarpon Springs home for over 100 years. And throughout that time stands National Bakery, a family-owned and operated bakery for those same 100 years. The table you see in the video was made in 1924 and has been crafting classic Greek pastries ever since. We got some baklava to snack on in the bakery and some classic Greek bread and almond cookies for the road. If you're anywhere near Tarpon Springs, you have to check out National Bakery.

Cash Only. 100 years of service! Best local, Greek Bakery located off Main. Parking on street. Tarpon Springs Strong after surviving the 2024 hurricane season, please support this incredible, resilient business. Always welcoming and smiling. We were given a surprise tour. it's a small town feel. open 7 days a week to provide fresh bread and bakery items for the local restaurants, Tarpon families and the public. Open 7 am to 5 pm. Get in early to choose from the full selection of Greek treats. Valerie and her family are awesome and gave us a heartfelt and informative tour of this amazing, 100 year old bakery. The original kneading table still in use has the same wooden dowels that were first hammered in by local artisans. The out of this world Tiramisu is our current favorite: so rich with a strong coffee aroma even before you take the first bite! Fresh biscotti, breads, and spice cookies that are delightful. Greek coffee for sale and other cooking ingredients.

Located in tarpon springs off a side street near the sponge docks, parking can be a challenge, so I'd recommend coming early in the morning. Lots of tasty looking treats. I ordered the tiramisu, which was 3/5, the cream was too sweet for me and the lady fingers were not very well soaked. I'm picky about my tiramisu though! There were many other options that looked great. They take cash only. The staff seemed rushed even though there weren't many customers.

The best pastries and bread- authentic and made in house. The woman working there was one of the nicest people we've met- so friendly, explained all the different options, the bakery's history, etc. The pastries were delicious and reasonably priced. They have a few tables outside where you can sit but not much seating available. Great experience and can't wait to go back.

Whenever we go to Tarpon Springs we stop by this little old bakery. Their pastries are so fresh and perfect! The only problem is they only accept cash and I rarely carry cash. You'll want to buy everything they have it all looks great. I'm going again tomorrow and I can't wait!

..eating lunch around the corner, my wife kept noticing this lil' bakery (celebrating their 100th year in business!!) and boy am I glad we listened to her instinct! Walk into this smallish but immaculately clean bakery and you know you are looking at some special products! Displayed beautifully, the cookies, cakes, deserts truly defy description. When the proprietor said her favorite deserts had just come out and was still warm (!!) I was locked in. We got an assortment of desserts for an ailing friend and a few for ourselves. They know how to Bake!
