Mr B's Cafe Southern Cuisine

Driving by and thought I would get some southern food to take home. The host/waitress was so sweet. She was patient as I went over the menu. I decided to get more than I needed. I ordered the Oxtail dinner, the turkey meatloaf, and the smothered pork chops. Leftovers will be ready. Now won't be able to talk about the food yet since I'm taking it home so let's go over the atmosphere. It had background music which was at a level that did not drown out conversation. While I was writing this they said they sold out of the turkey meatloaf so I substituted the fried fish. The place is airy with large windows so you don't feel enclosed. There is no smoking or vaping which I like when eating. There is ample parking available for the size of the establishment. Based on what I have seen so far they definitely get 4.5 stars without even having the food. Will have to come back for the food review.Added pictures of the meals

Mr. B's Southern KitchenThe food at Mr. B's Southern Kitchen was great! Tasty and well prepared. However, the BEST PART WAS the SERVICE! Can we say HOSPITALITY AT ITS BEST! The staff were AMAZING! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!My order:Fried Catfish, smothered pork chops with dirty rice, Black eyed peas, cabbage, and cheese, grits... don't judge me ... Try it!! My Review:The food was great. However the staff was AMAZING. All I can say is THANK YOU.The atmosphere:AMAZING!!!!!! EVERYONE wasSOOOOO FRIENDLY!!! Nice size restaurant that looks GOOD and clean!! Overall Score:8/10

Mr. B's is awesome! The staff at Mt. B's is welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The atmosphere is joyful because all of the employees are pleasant.I enjoyed the"Bee"licious food like chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, collard greens and some cheesy mac n cheese. I even enjoyed sweet tea,Overall I enjoyed Mr. B.'s and can't wait to return and also try some desserts.

Mr B's, a Southern cuisine restaurant, to celebrate Juneteenth with Yelp, and it exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, with plenty of seating.The food was good, including fried fish, chicken and maple waffles, and for the main course, fried chicken with mac and cheese and collard greens. The chicken and maple waffles were especially delightful.The experience was dynamic and fun, with an engaging trivia game. The owner was present, very attentive, and added a personal touch to the evening, making everything "Blicius" as he said

The food was delicious. The pork chop had good seasoning but was a little tough. I could not get enough of the Cajun rice. I really liked the sausage and flavor. The greens were tender and flavored well. I wish they had some meat. The service was good. The young man came back to check on us. The restaurant was fairly empty and was quiet, which was ok. We had enough food to take home.

The good: faith based The bad: over salted sides. (We had 6) as a Yelp elite I strive to give fair reviews. Service is slow & the serving were skimpy like the cook got afraid they will run out. My friend who has the chicken thigh & leg asked "who killed the biddie (baby chick) as the pieces were pitiful. My turkey wings were great, but again definitely not the serving MR & C cafe gives by soul food standards. Corn muffins & fried green tomatoes are the stars.

Wow! A beautiful interior, lovely staff, and delicious food! Upon first arrival, it's truly a "wow" how gorgeous and big the inside is. There's two dining areas, separated by part of a wall. It's super bright inside and I loved the colors! We were seated immediately and Sashelle was our server. She was very attentive and friendly the entire time.We immediately received cornbread at the table - some of the best I've ever had! I loved that it was pretty soft, not dry at all, and sweet. I ordered the oxtails (my first time ever) with collard greens and mac & cheese. It also came over rice - seriously a huge portion of food - I had to box up more than half to take with me! The oxtails were so tender and yummy. I liked the gravy/sauce that was in the rice. I enjoyed the collard greens, a little salty for my taste though. And the mac, wow!

ExperienceThe fam and I went to eat at Mr. B's after church last Sunday. We chose this place because we had been to this restaurant before (twice actually) about a year ago when we first moved from California. For some reason, I could never get around to write a review although each time I've patronized this restaurant in the past the food was great. I even recall ordering the same sides each time although usually I like to get new things on the menu if I've been somewhere multiple times.On this particular visit, it was like I recalled. We were welcome upon entry, seated right away, and our order was taken in a matter of minutes. The vibe is always nice to say the least.The FoodI was with a party of 6. 3 out of 6 people ordered the same thing--Honey Hot Fried (dark or white) Chicken w/ 2 sides. I was one of the three that ordered honey hot fried chicken (dark--leg and thigh) with macaroni and Lima beans. I also ordered some buttermilk fried okra that was drizzled with sweet chili sauce and a green goddess sauce. The others in my party ordered fish bites and chicken and waffles...all of which they raved about. For some reason, I did not enjoy my food this time. The chicken wasn't the same flavorful chicken it was when I tried it a year ago. The chicken didn't taste like chicken; however, my husband who ordered white meat (breast/wing) loved his chicken. He said it was juicy & flavorful. His chicken looked just as good as he claimed it tasted, but my chicken was the complete opposite. The legs looked smaller than most chicken legs you'd come across & the taste was not there. The Lima beans were overly salted with Lawry's Seasoned salt and my macaroni just tasted like velvetta cheese mixed with noodles. I'm not sure if they changed recipes or have a new chef but it was just not the same. Why I'll Be BackI'm sure after that, you probably think I'll never return but you're wrong! I will indeed be back. Perhaps I got a bad plate this time. I'm choosing to look at the situation differently. I've seen Top Chef or other cooking shows where the chef gets all the plates completed to perfection but somehow he/she manages to mess one plate up. That's a consistency issue not a customer service issue. I'm willing to revisit to see if there's any modifications made. I'm willing to revisit because the young lady that seated us and the young man that also helped attitude was stellar. The food was slap your momma good.If you're in the area don't forget to stop bye you won't be disappointed.

AMAZING Customer Service! Very respectful and kind. That's rare nowadays. Not sure how the food taste. But Customer service will definitely lead me back....
