Mowgli’s Tiffin

We had a really wonderful time eating at mowgli's tiffin! There's almost no other presence of fast casual Indian street food in st pete/tampa like this, perfect for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike, and spice levels can be adjusted.When you step into the restaurant you feel like you're in India. It's a small joint but fast paced. It is small, about 4-6 tables. The items come out quickly so you can enjoy everything fresh. There is a bit of a modern twist on some items, but for the most part stick true to the Indian street food vibe. You can see how much passion amita and the staff have to serve their customers! I am already looking forward to my next visit :)

We stopped in for lunch today. It's a small restaurant so they might run out of room to sit quickly if it's busy. You order over the counter and the staff was friendly. My wife and I both went with the Butter Chicken and some Garlic Naan. The butter chicken came out pretty quickly. I would say the portion size is a bit small considering the price at $15.65 but in reality I didn't leave hungry. The butter chicken was packed with flavor and you can get it mild, medium, or hot. I got it medium and it had a decent spice to it. You could see the peppers in it. The Garlic Naan was quite tasty and came with a sauce. The bread was soft and wasn't burnt in any spots like you sometimes get at places.Lots of flavor here, so be sure and check it out.

Having worked in New Delhi I always knew where to go for a quick meal especially at lunch or on the weekend. It was go tot he back streets and eat the food that everyone else would eat. It was quick and easy. Spicy. Fresh. True Indian style. It was great.So, to find Mowgli's was special unto itself. Here it is in St Pete and you can drive by it. But slow down and park the car. Step inside and welcome back to true India. It is a wonderful team that cook real Indian Street Food that you might never have known about. For me, it was real. Just the way to like it. It does not matter what you have or what you order, it is all fresh and has a flavor you cannot deny. It is what I expected but cannot always fine here in Florida or even in NYC. This is the stuff from India.True Indian street types. Great food. Great service. I need to come back and try something else next time.In fact, they are always testing new options and a new one shall be out next month. I cannot wait for this. I truly need to try and enjoy. It will take me back to the people, the culture and the food when walking down the street.Give it a try and come to India here in St Pete. You will come back for more.

I love Indian street food! This is extremely authentic and I could eat it every day. From the rolls to the butter chicken... do not pass up the pani puri!

Stopped by here because I saw it on a list of new restaurants in St Pete. It's a cute little lunch/snack shop that specializes in Indian street food and snacks. I had a chicken tikka Kathi roll, which is a delicious Bengali wrap of sorts made with paratha and filled with meat/eggs/potatoes. The paratha was perfect and flaky and not heavy/greasy at all. Filling was well spiced. It came with chips, salad, or cheese curds. I got the chips which were freshly made and crunchy. I also had the cold coffee, since I needed the caffeine boost. It was cool and sweet and creamy and made a nice dessert too. I will be back for sure to get more things, like adding the egg to my Kathi roll! Or the pani puri.

Kati roll was sooo good! Been to India many times and the flavors here transported me right back to Kolkata.The spice is pure medicine.Very kind staff.

This place is the bomb! Tried a little bit of everything in their menu and ALL were perfect! Amita the owner was professional and friendly continuosly asked if everything was ok with our order. Lucky for us this place is near home. Wishing them much luck in their new venue.
