Mi Viejo Latin Cafe’ & Catering

We had Mi Viejo cater our Saturday night dinner for a recent sailing competition. Order was for 80 servings and to be delivered to Tampa Sailing Squadron. Food was fantastic, delivered on-time and the catering crew was fantastic. We ordered 40 servings of Ropa Vieja, 40 servings of pulled port, yellow rice. Amazing Latin food and great service is the bottom line...The pepper beef and picadillo are amazing. Mac and cheese is not mushy and the rice is flavored nicely to go with the beans. Great food here at a reasonable price.

A warning. This place is popular so it can be hard to find parking or sometimes a table at peak hours. It's worth it, and you can always use the drive through.We ordered a bunch of items as a family to share so while I can't go over everything, I will highlight the must-haves:Sides: fried plantains, sweet or crunchy and savory. Get both. Black beans and rice. Main dish: shredded pork is amazing with a tamale! Ropa Vieja...shredded beef with a savory tomato sauce.We also loved the beef empanadas.The media noche is wonderful, we recommend holding the tomato and lettuce (more authentic this way.)Now, as a 1st generation Cuban American it's all about the croquettes. Order Ham ones by themselves or...The number one dish ranked at our table was the pan con croquetta - Cuban bread with ham croquettes . We just add mayo (that's how we grew up eating them) Delicious!!!The restaurant is nice with wood laminate floors graphite counters to order on. The staff is amazing, 4 of them behind the counter alone (not counting the team in the kitchen) ensures you get your food fast! We will be back!

Spicy ropa, beef stew, grilled chicken & pepper steak are some of my personal favorites. Steak sandwich was my favorite before going gluten free....please find a gluten free cuban bread?

Definitely a restaurant to enjoy an authentic Cuban meal. Always well prepared meals in a clean, friendly environment. One thing to enjoy about this establishment is the tremendous variety of delicious food on a daily basis at great prices. A must visit! You'll surely return.

I did take out with my friend. We were coming back from the gardens at Apollo Beach Park and my friend told me about this place, so we decided to give it a shot. It is normally pretty crowded, but we got lucky at the drive through. We decided on the footlong Cuban sandwich with everything on it. We paid at the drive through, and within 5 minutes, the food was packed and ready. We ate at home, and I split a half of the sandwich with my friend. The Cuban sandwich was piled pretty high with plenty of veggies, pork, and possibly ham as well. The bread was pressed, but still was soft to enjoy the toppings. The veggies were very fresh, and I really enjoyed the pickles there. I believe the sauce was mostly mayonnaise and mustard, but they were dressed very nicely and complimented the sandwich greatly. The meat was very delicious and it seemed to taste homemade as well. The pork was tender and well seasoned. After my friend and I finished, we agreed that this was a legit Cuban sandwich. And not to mention, it was only 10 dollars for the footlong sandwich.The attendant at the drive through was quick, friendly, and helpful. I believe she was from Cuba and took great pride in the restaurant and food. I didn't go inside the restaurant, but I did recall seeing that the food is cafeteria style, allowing you to select the premade food from a window. I will definitely try the other foods offered, but that Cuban sandwich was definitely high quality and worth having again. A Latin gem in the Apollo Beach area.

I order from Mi Viejo regularly. I'm Cuban and on days where I don't have time to cook a full meal for the family, they're my go to. Their portions are more than commensurate for the price and my family cant stop raving about the deliciousness of every meal! Highly recommend! Fast delivery makes this rating 5 stars

Delicious and authentic Cuban food! My favorite restaurant in the area. I dream of their empanadas. If you get breakfast here, definitely order a cafe con leche too! The workers are very friendly and helpful.

Excellent authentic food, with a great deal of choices. Prices are very reasonable. Service was excellent and servers were very amiable and helpful, offering samples as needed, in order to make choices from the wide variety of offerings. I will be returning to this restaurant on a routine basis. Great value for excellent food!
