The food is great! The atmosphere is nice and there are a lot of people. It's a very busy place. The service was good.

What a unique experience on a Saturday night! It was a mix of bachelorette parties and people on their way to the club but also couples on dates and we even saw a newborn! For those who don't know, this is one of the most elite restaurants in Hyde Park. It's a lovely, walkable neighborhood with lots of fancy shops, bars and eateries. We've eyed this place for a while specifically because there's always a showy Lamborghini or two parked out front. Many people are there just to be seen, it seems. And the people watching is top notch! We made a reservation--a necessity--and I wish there was a place for people to wait rather than on the busy sidewalk. We were seated rather quickly and the service was phenomenal. They even came and swept up the crumbs left on my placemat from the crusty fresh bread they brought out. The cocktails were delicious: we tried a cucumber gin drink and also a passion fruit tequila drink. Both fresh and balanced. The menu is a little tricky in my opinion because the steaks, for example, were listed randomly in three different sections. It made it hard to rank them and choose! Plus there's the issue of making sure you don't accidentally order a $150 steak when you meant to only get a reasonable $50 steak. I went nice and simple on my first visit with the signature "MM Steak" which is a picahna cut with habanero chimichurri. It was a very lean cut and therefore a little tough for me despite it being sous vide in butter. The sauce was spicier than expected but nice and fresh. I don't think I'd get it again. I think the real winner was my husband's steak: the Linzer, which I think was a ribeye basted in creole seasoning and duck fat. It had very nice marbling and you really couldn't tell the "toppings" were there so it was not overwhelming at all. There was a lot of gristle however. As far as sides, the truffle Mac was delicious! Super decadent, rich and indulgent. I highly recommend sitting outside on the patio. The air was brisk and so the outdoor heater made it the perfect temp plus the fire adds an ambiance! Something weird: we kept seeing people get bowls of free crispy corn as a snack. When I asked about it, I was told it was a "chef's gift" but we somehow didn't get one? Weird! If you are celebrating a special occasion, I would for sure take a group and order something like the tomahawk steak and a literal TREE of espresso martinis (we saw two tables get those!).

We stopped at The Meat Market on a Sunday afternoon when we went shopping at Hyde Park Village. It was crowded inside and out, but we were seated at an outdoor table within 10 minutes. The server was knowledgeable about the menu, and food and drinks were delicious. My wife really enjoyed their ricotta caprese and I had a Manhattan chicken sandwich with waffle sweet potato fries. The atmosphere is active, with dance music playing, and fashionably dressed patrons at the tables and bar. We'll be happy to try them again.

Loved the vibes of this place and decor. Great options for indoor and outdoor seating. We made a reservation, which requires a credit card on file. They won't seat you till your whole party has arrived. Parking is a bit limited at times between the street and garages so prepare for that. We were seated outside, which was great. Lots of space and shade. We ordered the empanadas to start. They typically come with two but we were able to order five, one per person. This was split evenly per person when the bill came. My friend ordered the All You Can Spritz. 3 of the 5 of us participated in this. Each one got two drinks each. They drinks were large and they said good. Beautiful presentation!I ordered the Croque Madame, for $24. It is pit ham, Gruyère cheese, a sunny side up egg, mornay sauce, and black truffle shaving served on sour dough. It was decent but I would not return based on this. I also ordered a side of the truffle fries, which were $12. They were unfortunately greasy. Definitely didn't expect them to be that much and they definitely were not worth it. Service was great but I honestly would not come back or recommend.

First time trying out Meat Market brunch on Sunday. Service started off fantastic, our drinks and apps came out so quickly! The deviled eggs were 10/10 and perfect in my opinion. Cocktails are solid. As our meal progressed, service got pretty slow and forgetful but we still had a pleasant experience. Classic burger was bomb - perfectly cooked and flavorful. Some prices are steep but there are more affordable options as well. Will be back to try out their happy hour deals and sit at the bar!

Meat Market is always a treat yourself kinda meal. You can't go wrong with the steak and eggs with a cinnamon role for brunch. The Bloody Mary board is huge and shareable. The steak and seafood options are always top notch. The salmon is my lunch favorite. The Japanese waygu steak is 10/10.If you are looking to splurge the seafood tower and caviar options are soooo good. They have gigantic stone crab claws and fresh oysters.

Meat Market is a well-known restaurant in Hyde Park, Tampa, and I finally made my way over after having it on my list for a while. I went for brunch with some friends and was really pleased with the experience. The service was great, and it wasn't too crowded even though it was a Saturday at 11 a.m. It was also easy to make a reservation the day before. It's a nice place too, you'll be happy wherever you end up sitting. All the cocktails were fantastic. I started with a Bloody Mary but also explored the regular cocktail menu, which I highly recommend if you want to go beyond the brunch cocktails. For starters, we got the Deviled Eggs, which were quite good, and the Wagyu Tartare, which was excellent--highly recommend that one. We also tried the Empanadas, but they were pretty generic and not worth the price, especially compared to everything else. For my entrée, I had the Steak and Eggs, which was really good. The steak was one of the better ones I've had in a while--perfectly cooked with great flavor. The portion size for the steak was solid for brunch, but I think they could have included a little more egg. Overall, I wanted something lean and satisfying, and it delivered. This is a great spot in the middle of Hyde Park. I'll be back.

The Meat Market is located in the high end Hyde Park district. The last two times I've gone it has been immensely packed so much that there is much difficulty walking through the sidewalk. We initially didn't have a reservation and were told that no walk ins would be accepted for the rest of the evening. This was unbelievably frustrating as my partner & I had driven an hour to have dinner there. The doorman also stated that despite my partner wearing expensive dress shorts, we were turned away even though the restaurant website stated dress shorts were permissible with the outdoor seating. We returned the following week with a reservation and started by stopping by at the bar. It was incredibly packed and was difficult to move about. We eventually sat down at our table and the ambiance with the restaurant decor and lighting were beautiful. The music was loud and it was a bit difficult to have a conversation. The restroom was certainly an area of opportunity in terms of improvement as the men's room was incredible small and plain considering the design of the rest of the establishment. In terms of food and drink, the Passionate Love cocktail was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend grabbing this one if you needed a recommendation. The wagyu beef dumplings had such a great, powerful flavor that were scrumptious. The meatloaf had a nice barbecue flavor and the mashed potatoes paired with it were divine. The cookies and milk dessert & chocolate torte were decadent and great flavor. The presentation was well done and the portions were good. The service was not bad but the greet time was above 15 minutes since the server assistant approached us. It was a nice dining experience but I feel as though the restaurant would be more efficient if it was staffed with more servers. The food runners were professional and helpful as well.Overall, I would return for an important occasion or for happy hour specials.

I came out here for a very special Christmas Eve dinner. I picked this place out due to it being right in the heart of the very scenic Hyde Park, which boasts a lot of festive Christmas decorations, and that it's been a place of interest of mine for some time. Best of all, is that I can take my sweet, precious Muffin with me since Dec. 23 is basically our anniversary together, and it's only proper that I enjoy a lovely meal with her by my side. Now, what surprised me is that the menu I thought would be available to me for tonight wasn't, so this review is a tad of a disclaimer, nonetheless, it's a good sneak peek of the great work they do!I really wanted to try their duck confit, but apparently, it wasn't available, so I went with what I thought was the next best thing. Their G-Life pasta and the black truffle kale salad. I start off with the salad, which was incredible! Crunchy, light, yet rich and complex from the parmasean cheese and truffle, it was the perfect size where I wasn't way too full to enjoy my main course. Which is why I'm very grateful my lovely server recommended I go with this plus the pasta when I was deliberating. Up next, I got the pasta. The fettucine indeed tasted very fresh, with colorful veggies and a light yet also flavorful cream sauce. It certainly rivaled what I've had when I was in Italy, and the plating and presentation brought me back there. Now, I wasn't trying to be ironic by ordering an entire vegetarian meal. After all, Meat is in their name. Rest assured, I'm determined to return for that Duck Confit dish. But, I think it is worth noting that the incredible vegetarian dishes are a testimony to the quality of food here, so even if I'm not feeling like meat, I'll know whatever I get will wow me.
