Mario's Ristorante Italiano

This is a cute, small restaurant in a non-descriptive strip mall. Authentic Italian cuisine run by an Italian family. The antipasto salad was my favorite bite of the night. It could easily feed 4+. The meats were so fresh and delicious and the balsamic dressing was some of the best I've had. Each entree comes with bread and soup or salad. The entree itself is a pretty big portion size. They have a nice selection of veal dishes which I love because not many places serve veal. My choice, veal saltimbocca, came topped with prosciutto and fontina cheese in a garlic white wine sauce. I opted to have mine served with vegetables instead pasta. The entire meal was delicious. The veal was so tender it melted in my mouth. I also had a bite of the other dishes our table ordered. The chicken parm, veal piccata, and penne arribiatta were all just as delicious. For dessert we ordered a cannoli (it was HUGE) and a tiramisu (mouth watering). The service could have been better, and since the place was so small, it was a bit noisy and cramped. The bread was my least favorite part. Tasted bland and a bit hard and stale. I would have also liked the food to have come out a bit hotter (mine was a bit lukewarm). All in all the food was tasty so I will return!

Amazing food and authentic Italian service. We would recommend this for anyone wanting a "mom and pop" home cooked Italian meal

What a wonderful place! We arrived right at 5 when they opened and there was already a line to get in. We were quickly greeted and seated. We had bread and butter before our meal and a great bottle of wine. The meals come with salad or soup. The house salad and the lobster ravioli are amazing. You will want reservations or get there early as the 9 tables fill up quick. It's certainly fast paced, as the two waitresses and kitchen staff worked quickly, but the service was just as great as the food and we had to catch a flight home so we didn't mind feeling a bit rushed.

Homemade food. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was sweet. As my 7 year old nephew said, he loved the music. Both kids had Spaghetti and Clam Sauce. Yummo. My sister had the Veal Marsala and I had the Veal Piccata. Every meal came with soup or salad. Youngest wanted more tortellini soup. Couldn't eat dessert brought home 2 slices of Limoncello cake. I am so sorry I didn't take pictures. Food was too good to stop. Chef greeted us at the table and it was so nice. Linda was an amazing serve.

Yum! We were craving Italian and decided to check out Mario's. Am I glad we did. Full disclosure, it is a bit warm in there but other than that, it was so good! There are about 8 tables in this cozy little place and if there is a wait, you will be waiting outside, but trust me, it's worth it. We had spaghetti and meatballs, because if you cannot do the basics right, I question all else and it was so good. Meatballs were yummy, correct amount of sauce and the pasta cooked just right. Make sure you save room for the tiramisu. It's excellent!

Finally made it here. Well it was worth the wait. It was a quiet evening so we were greeted and seated very quickly. We ordered the house Pinot Grigio and Chianti. Both were very good. The waiter suggested the Arancini so we ordered them. Wow. They were incredible. Crispy outside creamy inside with a vodka sauce. Will go back for these. We both asked for the house salad with our entrees. This was basic but made special by adding cheese to the balsamic vinaigrette dressed salad. For dinner we had Mario's grouper which was piccata style and the veal saltimboca. They were served with pasta and were excellent. A cannoli for dessert topped off the meal. It was excellent too. The service this visit was attentive and paced well. The restaurant is in a strip mall but it was decorated nicely with an Italian theme.We really enjoyed it here and will definitely come back again.

Dinner was really good. Service was a little harsh and rushed with people at front door and tending to tables. Small place and probably should have expected it, but they should have a designated host. Nonetheless, I recommend the food in a chill atmosphere which you don't typically get on the beach.

Most importantly food was delicious. House salad was fresh and was just right size. I had baked ziti and added chicken- wow lots of tasty sauce, loads of chicken and pasta cooked perfectly. Was hungry but couldn't finish it. Wife has saltimbuca which was just as tasty, perfectly cooked and good size portion. Bread roll to start was crispy can't stop eating Italian style. Service was great and restaurant itself is cozy and clean. Prices very reasonable. Give it a try and you won't regret it.

Always a high point of our visit to Madeira Beach... comfortable local restaurant with the most amazing eggplant parmigiana in the whole wide world... lovely owner and staff

All homemade and delicious It's a tiny restraint which lo deceiving from the outside. The service was amazing and their house wine was very good. It's a BYO but no thanks to the $15 corking fee.
