Mama's Soul Food Restaurant - Brandon

We went in on Saturday at noon and the restaurant was a ghost town that should have been my frist read flag! It's cafeteria style you order at the counter and you pay and sit in the dinning room , service was normal, but I'll be honest food the bland! "Dirty rice " wasn't dirty rice it had black beans corn and other stuff and it was very bland ,the corn bread muffins were not good at all, box mixed would have tasted better, Mac and cheese had no flavor I've had better from frozen section at the grocery store, collard green had no flavor what so every very muddy almost burnt taste , turkey wings were very fatty , and greasy you only get one wing ! Beef tips were ok nothing to call home about garlic mash potatoes were ok too but again nothing amazing , potatoe salad was too sweet black eye peas tasted like they were out of a can and not the season can , everything one the line had thick grease layer on top! Needless to say I would give zero or negative stars if I could and we won't be back !

I posted my original order for this restaurant.Mama soul food, I got it through Uber Eats. An Uber Eats is not good. Food arrived cold was not offered anything to substitute.The items that the restaurant did not have. For that, I blame the restaurant, not uber eats. I did not receive the dressing. I did not receive the zucchini Squash vegetables. I did not get extra gravy or extra onions. On the swiss steaks, I got burnt cornbread, and I got two empty holes into a very over salted dinners. The lima beans were overcooked and so salty we could not eat them. The restaurant needs to review their online presence and take the items off the menu that they do not have. I would have least expected a courtesy call to choose something else not to leave it empty and still charge me the same amount of money. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again. This is the third time they's fouled up an order from me. This is one of the Friday night at 7 PM. You cannot tell me. This store is out of items at seven p m on a friday night and still be in business. An uber eats is just a disaster.

I was excited to get a soul food meal, which I don't get to have often. I've heard good things about them from a friend, so I decided to stop in. The service was okay.They ask you if you want white or yellow rice, but didn't communicate an up charge if you decided to get yellow rice. I found out at the checkout counter when I was putting my card in. I also saw the server place her hand right on top of my cornbread when placing it in the box, so I cut off the top half of it due to the unsanitary action witnessed. That kind of turned me off from wanting to eat the food. I decided to get the baked turkey wings, with yellow rice, black eyed pea, and yams. They also give you cornbread with your meal. The food was pretty good. They give you a lot of food, so I was able to eat half and save the rest for lunch the next day. Not sure if I'll return to this business.

: Food, absolutely disgusting : Service, no hand wash due to watching the parking lot, on cell phone, tv remote dialing then pleasantly prepared food with no hand washing!!!! I asked for more meat due to order if turkey wings in which i received alll the fat skin but No i mean none meat. I visually asked for more although we just had thanksgiving iWould appreciate to receive something for my little 20 bucks. The collards smell like household cleanup and the taste WoW super dirt nasty taste as if not washed. The cornbread muffin super hard, not sweet?! The yellow rice is ok, mac and cheese are a super disgusting disappointment. The entire experience was super awkward being the restaurant was empty only carry-out. The ambiance of the brandon location is nice, the food and employees don't match the atmosphere nor provide the mamas kitchen edible experience. The whole meal i trashed sincerely gross even after I doctor the food. This location was a go 2; i will never support this business again. They have let me down more times than iwish to share

It's a NO for me!I wanted to try a new restaurant and decided to finally give it a go.The establishment is clean and welcoming. I immediately noticed the signs about "no refunds" and "no time for foolishness". The signs made me question the quality of the food. What is happening to make the business hang such signs?It's time to order and the servers and cashier were friendly. I'm vegetarian so I knew I was going to get the veggie plate. The appearance of the macaroni and cheese looked questionable.it didn't look hot or seasoned, but I tried anyway. At a glance I couldn't tell if the greens were freshly prepared or canned, I decided to try anyway. I added yams and fried okra, and all meals come with rice & cornbread.Ones I got my food I KNEW why the signs were up. The food was not good at all. The greens had a peculiar smell to it, it was so odd that I felt it would cause food poisoning and didn't finish. The Mac and cheese was mushy and had zero seasoning! The yams were alright. The okra was hot but absolutely no seasoning. The corn bread, wow, it was old and stale. The white rice and gravy clearly wasn't fresh but I ate it.Overall, the food was not fresh and quality wasn't there. The owner needs to evaluate practices.

Ok , first time here and I ordered the rib dinner with string beans and rice for sides.Mac n cheese had good flavor but noodles too soft. Peach cobbler was very good great crust throughout ( made from scratch) I had the sweet potato pie . the filling momma made but the crust wasn't . Oh the corn bread cupcakes were dry. If warm and added butter would have helped. Overall our meal was good.

I had the oxtail with white rice and cabbage. It was authentically spiced and a large portion.

Whenever I'm in town, I have to get the catfish nuggets! They are so good. The restaurant has a warm and comfortable feel to it. The staff was very friendly and informative about the food selections. I initially doordashed and meal for the family. We tried the porkchop, they were good but I wasn't crazy about the batter. I've also tried the chicken wings and shrimp, and again, they were pretty good. I look forward to trying other items when I'm in the area, but I'll def pick up more of the Catfish nuggets!

The service was different. You had to go to the counter, make your selection, if it was available , pay and then have to wait for your food at the table of your choice. My son had the chitterlings and gave them a 3.5. O noticed a lot of vegetarian orders being made while we were there. This is a very casual atmosphere. The bathroom was decent.

Food was below standard i had the overcooked chicken livers my wife had a gross fish sandwich. First and last time visiting this location
