Tandori chicken. So good. Maybe a tad over cooked but the flavors were awesome.

Great food. We sat and were served at the bar.The dinners are served with basmati rice. My favorite was the veggie korma. A creamy Cashew sauce with cauliflower peas potatoes green beans and paneer cheese. Comfortable bar chairs with backs. Nice decor inside.

For our dinner spot we chose Indian. Reviews said the food was good and they were spot on. Everything we had was amazing. All the reviews were dead on. Food is delicious but venue needs work. Definitely need an interior decorator But we are here for the food and that did not disappoint. Service was ok. Took a little longer than I would have liked but it was very busy.

Ambiance 2 not inviting at all al. The crystal lights are bright and bounces off the crystal which extenuates every flaw in the space. Definitely not enough tables. The cheap tables and the lack there of makes the place even more empty and unappealing.Service 4. Once you get sat the service is decent. But the host stand is at th bar which is not apparent at first.Food 4-5Lamb Vindaloo was spicy and tastySpicy garlic and regular naan was goodButter chicken is definitely on the sweeter sideGoat Curry was decent but the meat was very chewyDon't know why but for 3 people that ordered entree they only brought one bowl of rice. We had to ask for another bowl.

I was laying around the house until I was starving. I recalled seeing an IG story about Malai opening up in St Pete. They had me at Indian food. My most favorite cuisine, after Mexican food. (Grew up on the border; I'm biased.) Anyway..... I hopped in my car and went in search of Malai. Soft opened for three days.... Malai happened to be busy this particular evening. Blame the IG story we all saw. I ordered the lamb saag and garlic naan. Delicious, flavorful, medium spiced as requested. I'll ask for hot next time. Not Indian hot though. And, I love spicy food. But, I know my limits. Service was excellent. Priced as expected. The chef made his rounds meeting customers (handsome!) I will return. Twas a good time and delicious food. Next time, I'll snap a picture.

We like Indian food very much and usually have to venture to Ocala to get it. Malai has now cut miles off search. We were very impressed with the food, especially the butter chicken which was the best we have had. The tandoori shrimp was also excellent. The restaurant was not crowded when we went for lunch so that may be a good time to try it. It is well worth it.

I want to start by saying two things. I don''t love Indian food but I liked this food as much as I ever like Indian cuisine. I didn't love the ambiance and when we walked in there were 4 people standing around at the bar and noone greeted us so I had to ask what we should do. They were not busy as we were the second customers of the evening. With just a few tweaks it could make the experience a 5 star for me. I had the coconut chicken and the chicken was very moist and cooked well. My husband had the lamb and loved it. We could have easily shared one dish. The pricing is very reasonable. Our waiter was very nice. This is a new restaurant so it could easily move to a 5 star for me if my husband can talk me into Indian food again.

Yummy all around!! I would say this is my favorite chicken tikka masala I've had in the Tampa Bay area so far. The service was good and friendly. Pretty plain / simple decor and seating inside but everything was good. I will say it is on the more expensive side - $20 for my entree and the naan wasn't cheap either.

This was an excellent meal. The garlic nann bread, samosas, and all the entrees were well prepared and delicious. Outstanding was the lamb Rogan Josh. The service was a bit slow. However, we had nine people on a Saturday night and they were slammed with diners and take out orders. We will definitely go back again.

I really enjoyed my experience at Malai! Most importantly, the food was fresh and delicious. The spicing was perfect-with a new-to-me Indian restaurant, I always order medium in order to gauge their heat level. For me, their Medium is pretty accurate, being a tad on the mild side for me. So, I'll order hot next time.We enjoyed the samosa chat, baingan bharta, and malai kofta. All three were tasty, but my favorite was the malai kofta. The dumplings themselves were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The garlic naan and raita were also very good. The place is small, but we were seated right away at the bar, which was a bonus because we were able to watch Bollywood music videos while we waited for our food. Super fun!Looking forward to returning soon!
