Maikel Bakery

I was sick and had to door dash. I ordered maikels Bakery because it was close to my house and their menu looked appealing. I got chicken soup. I also ordered Cafe con leche, chruzzo, egg and cheese sandwich. Service was fast , food was hot, freash and really good. I gave it a second try 2 days later with lunch. I had pork, black beans rice and plantains.Plantains. my sons and I shared the plate. The serving size was plentiful and delicious. Breakfast and lunch was amazing. I would recommend this location you will enjoy. I forgot to take a picture because i was starving.

A 24 hour bakery on Waters and Hanley, the selection of sweets is amazing. A ample sampling of prepared foods is also included.Service was quick and polite, there is no seating so everything is packed to go. Food serving size is enormous on free-serve items. Parking is on the side with easy access and exit from both streets.Food quality is moderately good and bakery items are very good. Clean and visually appealing. Give it a try.

Maikel Bakery is new to the neighborhood and has already made a positive impact. While it's described as a bakery, it's more than that. Besides a tremendous variety of bake goods, they also offer tasty Hispanic cuisine. When you walk in, the food choices are overwhelming! I ordered a Cuban sandwich, a side of yellow rice and black beans as well as a pastry. The amount of food you get for the money is very good.The establishment isn't a restaurant so don't expect inside sitting at a table to enjoy a meal. While there is an outside dinning area, the set up is designed primarily for pickup orders. Incidentally, while the staff is friendly, it can sometimes be a struggle to communicate since they mostly speak Spanish. It's not too bad though because all you have to do is smile, point at what you want and they'll do the rest. Miakel does have a drive thru, but I wouldn't recommend using it (especially if the place is packed) unless you know exactly what you want to order - as I said earlier, the food choices are overwhelming. Do I recommend this place? I certainly do!

Update: We tried again just for the churros, but we got plain dough with no sugar. Definitely not how they were last time we ordered. So, at this point, I have literally nothing to recommend here. Dropping it another star.

I am baffled by the horrible reviews. We were on vacation, staying at an AirBNB close by when we spotted this place. My friends and I love Cuban coffee so we had to try. I speak horribly broken Spanish, but I do give effort. My friends speak only English. After the first morning we were hooked! Everything we tried was delish!! And we ordered both, inside and at the speaker. Never had a problem. We had some misses in communication one time, but it still resulted in us getting our food correctly. We were treated perfectly fine. I recommend going inside if you're unsure or don't speak any Spanish so you can point. Which is what I did with the donuts, which were so amazing. I fell in love with the chorizo empanadas too!

Horrible bad food , all the food is bad here , we got very sick food poisoning after eating their food . Stay away from this location. Food is in bad condition will make you sick . Horrible bad rice tamales and meat everything was bad we spend 3 days vomiting and diarrhea. Toda la comida aquí está mala , el arroz acido, mi esposo terminó en el hospital . Todo sabia horrible . No coman aquí . Vomitos diarrea náuseas .

This place is trash and the food quality is the worse. I ordered a cuban cheese pastry and it had mold inside.I wish i had negative stars to rate them !

Its okay. Sometimes they get my order wrong food does not taste bad i only come here to snack or for breakfast

Absolutely amazing!!! Will be going back and have already recommended to everyone!!! The food and the pastries were all amazing!!!

The service here is awful. The attendants always seem to be in a rush and bad mood. The food tastes old like it has been sitting for a few days. Do not recommend. Will not be going back.
