Mac's Meats & Produce

This is def a meat store, on the very small side. It does sell bulk meats. There is some variety and good pricing if you know your meats .A lot of product is frozen. (like gator, tripe) Has similar products to Felton's in Plant City but much much smaller scale. Small fruit & veg section. Quarter watermelons for 99c. Very basic market.

This is not a full service butcher, but it is indeed a meat market and the closest thing to a full service butcher in Winter Haven area. You can find most any kind of meat here, but goat, lamb, rabbit, duck will be frozen in the case. Everything was previously frozen. They advertise "Heavy Western Beef". They carry mostly select. No choice. This is not the place to go to if you want good steaks (if you understand what a good steak is). It is just the market they serve. However, for my typical needs (brisket, ribs, pork shoulder), they have very good brands (I am usually looking for IBP) at very very good prices. When I need or want higher quality in brisket, or for steaks, I gotta go elsewhere. They carry a good assortment of spices related to meat dishes, and a good selection of produce, but it is average quality veggies. The staff are very helpful and I enjoy shopping here. It is just not the place for steaks.

Excellent meats,produce and service at price's that make you smile . I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I wish I had a better comment about Mac's because they are a local meat market, and I truly wanted to support them. However; the meat selection was not good at all. We still decided to buy some beef/steak, anyway. Big mistake!Judge for yourself, maybe the selection is better now. We visited there in 2022 or 2023. It's now Sept 2024 and we are current looking for a good place to buy non-gmo products and fresh meat produce.

Best prices, got some wings , strip steak and tenderloins and they all were delicious. Awesome customer service as well!

This is my go-to meat market. They always seem to have what I want and what I need. I absolutely love their fresh greens from Georgia. Their prices are great and everyone that works there is extremely pleasant and helpful. Their chicken wings are awesome, like regular chicken wings used to be, not on steroids. I even got my favorite chitterlings there.

A good, centrally located, family owned meat market. At Mac's, you can find everything you need for stocking your freezer or cooking at your next BBQ. I shop here to avoid the crowds and limited options at the big W grocery store and the high prices at the P grocery store. The prices are usually good especially if you buy larger quantities of ground beef, chicken, or pork. I often see many active BBQ and food vendors shop here, also. Best place in town for smoked ham hocks, jowls, & neck bones as well as a good variety of sausages (all Florida brands). I don't know anywhere else you could buy bone-in bacon or souse. And if you are looking for big bunches of collards, mustards or turnip greens you can buy those too when they're in season. Their freezer selection has everything from boiled peanuts to zipper peas, cheesecakes, pies, and full cases of beef oxtail. I was going to keep the 5th star because I do feel the prices for some things are unnecessarily high such as dry beans and corn meal. But I do like that they carry Dixie Lily brand for those items and you can't find them elsewhere. I also like that they stock a full selection of Florida based Everglades Seasonings and rubs. And if you like Swamp Boys barbecue sauces and rubs you'll find them here, too. They're made by Winter Haven local Rub Bagby (he's practically famous in the world of BBQ).As a bonus, every now and then there's a sweet old lady who sets up a table outside and sells homemade pies. And try to stay strong at the checkout counter where you might find a package of some awfully good glazed donuts. These usually don't even make it home before I've opened them up. To those that criticize a lack of selection for certain meats, quality or cuts I say that if I wanted Wagyu beef I'd go where it is offered. But here I can find beef short ribs, whole pork butts, even rabbit and everything else a hometown meat market should have. Mac's has been here for a long time. Greg and the family treat every single customer with respect and appreciation. Their personal family values are on full display. Winter Haven is lucky to have them.

Horrible woman at front of store. She has short blondish hair. At checkout, she grabbed the cart and jerked it out of my friends hands, he is disabled and almost ended up on the floor. Horrible woman, rude and disrespectful. Will never go back.
