M&R Cafe Southern Cuisine With Flavor

Hubby and I were craving some southern food and stumbled on M&R cafe. We're in town from California for the 49ers game and have been eating our way around, but nothing has come close to this spot. Ordered the smothered oxtail with cabbage and mac and cheese, plus banana pudding and some spaghetti on the side, and everything was fire.The oxtail was crazy tender, mac and cheese hit the spot and the cabbage was seasoned just right. The woman at the counter was super sweet too; she gave me an extra helping of spaghetti just because I had to wait a bit, and trust me, it was worth every minute.This was hands-down the best food I've had all trip. If you're anywhere near here, you gotta go try it.

M&R Cafe is a hidden gem! You will find it off of the beaten path from the typical local restaurant spots but once you find it you won't forget it!Known for their southern comfort food you won't be disappointed with your selection because you can't choose anything wrong. It's all great! I've had the fried fish, the baked chicken and loved them both. Not to mention the amazing hearty sides of mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese and green beans. So good!I love that the space is quaint and can easily hold space for a girls night out, networking meet up or family event. The owner Maria is super personal and makes sure you're satisfied with your order. If you need anything she'll be sure to take care of you! Tell her I sent you!

Great food and service at M&R. I ordered my food and it was ready in about 10 minutes. I had the turkey wing plate with collard greens, candied yams, Mac n cheese and cornbread and it was tasty. Can't wait to go back and try the catfish.

The best soul food spot! We live in Kissimmee and don't mind the hour and a half drive to get the best dinner when we want to treat our selves to good food. The vibes are chill, service is fast and helpful and always on point and the food is amazing. Flavor and good servings. Definitely check it out asap

The food here is BOMB! Reminds of of the southern food I miss from back home. They have a window to order food or you can place your order inside. They served brunch on Sunday and dinner at the same time. I ordered the turkey wings with rice, Mac and cheese and butter beans. My boyfriend ordered the baked chicken with the same sides. The meat was falling off the bone, it was so good. They also give good portions sizes. If you have searched all over Tampa for good southern food and haven't found it, please give this place a try.

The best southern could food restaurant in Tampa! Staff is attentive and personable as soon as you walk in the door. Food is reasonably priced for the amount that you get. Its usually enough for leftovers. The Mac and cheese is probably the best mac and cheese that I've ever had, and I can say I have 100 people that can attest to this statement as they catered my wedding. Hands down you must try it!

Ambiance is good. DJ on Sunday's for brunch is really good. The food was good the mimosa's were the best I've ever had. Shrimp and grits were great and French toast was delicious. They even had turkey bacon and sausage. It's not cheap but keep in mind everything is home made and it's an intimate setting. The owners are great and very engaging.

I usually order on DoorDash. The honey fried chicken is really good. A little over priced for the small portions of sides you get, but it's good. You may receive more if you dine in.

I ordered the oxtails, collards and sweet potatoes. This food was amazing. The oxtails were PERFECT. I told my daughter she could only taste a piece of a piece of a piece of my food. Her words "they did their thing with this". The flavor was just right. No need to add anything to it. Love was in this food. My first time but NOT my last.

Best food in Seminole Heights!! Once our order was placed, we waited just a few minutes, and then received the best plate of food I've had in MONTHS. Seasoned to perfection, and the meat fell right off the bone. You get an insane amount of food for the price; definitely enough for multiple meals. If I could give them 10 stars I would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Everyone should try out M&R- you won't regret it.
