This is the first time in years we stopped in to have lunch, simply because the last time was a disaster. They fixed the issues with service and food and hit it out of the park this time.We will be back again.

Meh... "Don't believe the hype, it's a sequelAs an equal, can I get this through to you?" - Public EnemyLook, the place looks impressive. As you walk to the front entrance you are meet with two options - Door 1: Restaurant and Door 2: Bakery.Door 1: Met by a sign that read 'wait to be seated' we waited for close to ten minutes as servers sauntered by, ignoring eye contact with us until we walked over to the bar. At the bar was a salty server wiping down menus, who finally said, "Usually, you must wait to be seated but I guess you can sit at the bar". Did I mention the place was practically empty? Our server was sweet and helpful. The food is the saving grace of the place. I started with an ok Matza ball soup with a ton of carrots and no chicken. I ordered the king of New York sandwich and it arrived cold and I had to send it back. The rye bread was warm and yummy and the meats were incredible soft and fresh tasting. To me everything needed a little salt.Door 2: Please don't forget to pass by the bakery on your way out. The apple strudel and pineapple upside down cake were amazing!!!!

Delicious! I love Pappas. And I love Cubans. Cuban has a really distinct flavor. That is very unique and delicious. Pasta is one of the best that I've had in Tampa. The matzoh ball was a little dense, but very tasty and the soup is excellent, and the corned beef was heavenly. .Service was great. Super friendly & very personable. Love the decor. Feels like a deli. And then OMG the Bakery!!! You have to give them a try!!

My friend ordered onion rings to start...really good, I ate too many.I had the half sandwich - the Rachel, which is pastrami, might be the best I've ever had, it was so juicy and no grizzle at all! Potato salad was good too and it came with a slice of cheesecake too...also good! It's noisy, but the service was great. Would definitely go back when in the area. So much food, we took some home

If you are looking for a New York deli fix, this place will do it! The pastrami, French Onion soup, potato salad, pastries, all so good. The sandwich can easily feed two people and my husband is a big eater. Too bad we were only in town for a short while or we would have been a repeat diner.

After many years I gave brunch at Lucky Dill another try and today was decent. The house made corned beef hash was full of flavor (although a little greasy) and the biscuits and gravy were savory. The hash browns were a tad underwhelming but nothing a little salt couldn't fix. Their menu is MUCH smaller these days which is nice but also missing a little bit of variety. Service was a bit unique. No one greeted us when we walked in, to the point we wondered if they were actually open on serving customers. After a few minutes we were taken to a take by a very friendly server. We weren't given plates to share a starter so luckily my brunch partner didn't mind eating from the same plate. No spoon for my coffee so I improvised and used my knife. Nothing terrible but room for improvement.

Been coming here for many years - still some excellent aspects, but not as good as before for various reasons.Ordered a corned beef and pastrami sandwich. Comes with a big deli pickle...well not so big - previous visit it was sliced lengthwise in half and this time it was sliced lengthwise smaller so you got 1/3 of a pickle. Not a big thing but just an early warning sign of the many little chintzy aspects of the place nowadays. I can just see somebody in the kitchen carefully slicing each pickle into thirds...Sandwich (for $21) seemed a tiny bit smaller than before, and the corned beef and pastrami seemed about as good as before, and came with a side - the home-made potato salad was excellent - and a couple of very good rolls, and a piece of cheesecake for dessert. They used to have chopped liver, but no longer.Part of the joy of a corned beef/pastrami sandwich is the mustard, and I guarantee you that the mustards here are the worst you have ever experienced. I tried the yellow mustard and it was a no-name brand - even the bottle looked cheap - and it was awful - even a bit creamy like mayo. When I asked for dark mustard, it came in a little plastic cup - also awful - worst you'll ever experience. Wrote down the name of the yellow mustard from the bottle, and then looked it up on the internet - apparently a cheap brand which the manufacturer describes as "...looks, pours and tastes like the leading consumer brands". As I said, you could go to Lucky Dill just for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of the most awful mustard you'll ever have. Also the ambiance was spoiled for me by the music, but that's a matter of personal taste - and it was a bit loud and intrusive. I missed the Super Bowl halftime show this year, but the music at the Lucky Dill was what I imagined the style of what the Super Bowl music would have been - a little hip-hop, etc.Canned sodas were $5 on the menu, but waiter charged me $4 - assume that was simply an error?Sign said Guinness available there - I think on draft - I think I recall that correctly, so that's a plus.
