Los Magueyes Mexican Restaurant - Inverness

We love this place for Mexican food when we're in the area! Love the decor and ambiance. The plates are large and everything is delicious. You won't regret dining here.

In town on vacation, my family and I wanted some Mexican food and found Los Magueyes. Based on their star rating we decided to give them a try, and we were so glad we did! The place is decorated very cute and festive. The complimentary chips and salsa was good. We ordered a fajita for two with all chicken, and a steak quesadilla and chicken quesadilla. Everything was very tasty. Very well seasoned and well portioned. After that we enjoyed the sopapillas and the Volcan de Chocolate for dessert. Both were good. Service was attentive and friendly. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance at Los Magueyes and would definitely return!

Usually the food is pretty good but it wasn't tonight. The red sauce on my fajita burrito was very sour and tasted more like Italian spaghetti sauce than a Mexican dish. It ruined the burrito. The place was freezing too. I understand there was a cold snap this week but it was so cold I couldn't enjoy my meal. Never took my coat off the whole time!

This has been a basic 'Go-too' restaurant for my wife and I. You will be hard pressed to find better Mexican food in Inverness. That said it does have issues at times when it's busy with the waitstaff but they are all super friendly and will go out of their way to help fix anything. The Chile Rellenos are some of the best I've had because they don't use canned or poached peppers like most places will. The decor is great we are always looking around to notice something new in the artwork booths. Give it a try and see what you think.Cheers

My last visit was the most impressive, and I would say that each of the five visits have improved upon the prior significantly; Birria tacos were a tasty delight, and have me sold on this location!

The food is served hot and the chips and salsa are great!Service is super fast and the drinks are great too.

Haven't been here in a couple years. It was always one of our favorite Mexican food places. Food was good. I had the tacos de pastor. Jim had the taquitos. Unfortunately the service has gone downhill. Our server was barely personable and seemed like we were bothering him. Took too long to check on us and didn't even ask if we wanted more chips and salsa. Had to go search for him to ask for hot sauce after our meals delivered since he hadn't returned to check on us. Also Jim never got the beverage he ordered. Disappointed.

Food has taken a nosedive since they reopened. I had the pollo chipotle which besides being misrepresented as a chicken breast was actually a "filet"... over cooked and the consistency of leather... the rice and black beans were dried out (too much time under the heat lamps?" ... the throbbing rap music emanating from the kitchen was annoying to say the least.. Don't waste your money, there are plenty of other choices!

I have been to both the one in Crystal River and the one in Inverness both are exceptional. The food is always consistently good. The weight staff excellent and the ambience typical but very nice. I believe it's a very clean place to eat and I enjoy the food there.

The service was fine/adequate, but the food was simply gross. They were kind enough to let me try something else when I didn't like the burrito I ordered, but the tacos I received instead still lacked in flavor. The corn tortillas were gummy and chewy and none of the meals came with rice and beans. Unfortunately we will not be returning. It was over $40 for a meal we didn't enjoy a bit. If you want good mexican in the area El Ranchito has never failed me in 15+ years. We just wanted to give this place a chance but we were left disappointed.
