Still great for almost 40 years. Real food and good bread with a nice staff. When you get tired of the Sunny Bird try the Chicken Salad sandwich!

I recently visited Lonni's and decided to try their renowned Sunny Bird sandwich. Ordinarily, I'm not inclined towards cold sandwiches, but the high amount of positive reviews piqued my curiosity. That being said, Sunny Bird was outstanding. The bread is solid and it's a great blend of flavors. The interior of Lonni's is small, with limited seating, best for take out. The staff were very friendly. I'm eager to return and explore more sandwiches.

I ordered a large tray of Lonnis sandwiches for a bookclub meeting for November, 2024. They were very helpful when I ordered the tray, making suggestions. When I picked up the tray in Dunedin on 11/19/24 they were busy (lunchtime) but were very pleasant and checked me out quickly. Their sandwiches are always enjoyed by my friends and have lots of meat in them. Their sandwich bread is yummy!

Unfortunately the "chicken pasta soup" is made from canned chicken. Really not the savory smell/ taste I was in need of. Would recommend sticking to the sandwiches

What a cool little gem in downtown St. Pete! Lunchtime Lonni's gets busy, but hey, we'll all wait in line for a great sandwich. The cashier was kind enough to let us try the tuna before we ordered as tuna can be hit or miss with places (or even on different days). The tuna was dynamite and we pulled the trigger quick, ordering the tuna on grilled rye. The tuna's added/mixed pickle and dill were definitely a bonus. We even added bacon to the sandwich to make it our own "Charlie's BLT." Lonni's has a small amount of indoor seating/tables, but we REALLY like having the small two tops outside too. Unfortunately, that day, right out front, there was a street performer and some very loud construction; we powered through and enjoyed our sandwich. We look forward to our next Lonni's run, trying another sandwich, and picnicking at one of the beautiful downtown parks.

Strolling on Central Ave., heading to a place for salads for lunch, when I passed by two women eating what looked to be amazing sandwiches. I stopped dead in my tracks and inquired as to where they came from. We immediately backtracked and headed into Lonni's. You place your order at the front counter; the menu is on a blackboard on the wall. Every seat was taken inside, but fortunately a table opened up outside that we were able to snag. I love that they have fountain sodas so you can drink as much as you want.I went with The Central, a hot sandwich made up of avocado, turkey, red onion, bacon, raspberry preserves, and goat cheese, then pressed and served on their wild rice bread. This sandwich was perfect, and I would definitely get it again. Plus, I was surprised at how quickly it came out, considering how busy they were. I do wish their sandwiches came with a side for the price, but you can order chips as an extra if you want.All in all a great sandwich with amazing bread and interesting ingredients, and I can't wait to have it again.

Got the famous Sunnybird. Overall, I can see the hype - it is definitely a unique sandwich with toppings you wouldn't normally find put together in any other sandwich shop.It isn't the best sandwich I ever tried, but that sauce that comes on it is fire and definitely get an extra side of that no matter which sandwich you order off the menu!Not a huge shop, and downtown parking is what it is, so maybe to go?

Great lunch spot for grabbing a quick bite in the middle of the work day. Fast and efficient! Loads of options which I've tried more than a handful of and liked each one. The PB chocolate cookies are a delight as well.

cute little sandwich place very popular and therefor busy at times. I ordered the chipotle chicken and we also had the nutty chicken salad sandwich. The chipotle chicken had a strong taste that i didn't like so much but the nutty chicken salad was delicious!! We also ordered 2 sides of capresse salad and pasta. The capresse salad was amazing.
