Too much rotten vegetables and fruit. The onions had so much mold on them. I was baffled at how this place was open.

We found this market to be well run. It is clean and offers good produce at reasonable prices. This place is a keeper!Like the Terminator, I'll be back.

I was so happy to discover this place! I start going there a few years ago. This store changed ownership lots of times. Quality was going up and down. Current owner took over since "after Irma". Store improved a lot now. It smells like fruits and vegetables. Nice displays with fresh local produce. Prices very competitive with even flee market but so much closer to my house. For example 2 days ago bought tomatoes, cucumbers and green peppers for $0.99/lb! Fresh, straight from Ruskin and other local farms. Watermelons was 2 for $5. Every time you can found good deals there. Bananas for $0.39/lb always available. It is my first store to check when i need produce. Also they have fresh "home made" breads, some jared fruits, etc. Check it out! Thank me later.

Great little produce market for the area. Each time we have been in, the staff have been friendly and helpful. A nice selection of fruits and vegetables, with majority of items sold for less here than at the supermarket. You can also find fruits and veggies that are not available at a regular supermarket.Herbs! We bought some fresh basil, cilantro and thyme here- so much cheaper than Publix and you get more as well. They also sell Amish canned goods- salsa, pickled stuff, BBQ sauce, jams & jellies. Local honey can also be found here and cool bottles of soda are sold individually in the cooler. And they have boiled peanuts behind the counter. We are going to come here more often now for our produce since we live nearby. Less crowds and better products/value!

Surprising variety of produce and ethnic products in a small and unassuming space. The folks there are friendly and helpful and the prices are very good. Bananas for the longest time were $.39 a pound but I think have recently gone up. Local bakery products like bread are very good and imported oils and cookies are among the many items you will find on the shelves in the back. There is one refrigerated produce section to the right as you walk in and another refrigerator with eggs, cheeses, mushrooms, real sugar soda, blueberries, butter, and other perishables straight ahead. You just have to go and check them out. I love the Italian cookies. Their spices are well stocked too. You will be pleasantly surprised at this hidden gem of a local market. The wooden floors and bins of produce are like a farm stand and a bit rough compared to the pristine shopping pleasures of Publix and Whole Foods but you'll save money here if you're careful to select well. Like green beans and other produce are loose and are not prepackaged so you don't have to take the few bad ones they always seem to try to get you to buy at the fancy stores.

This place is amazing. Friendly staff and the owner was great. This truly is a hidden gem. I will be back every week as I loaded up with tons of great food and it didn't even cost me $20.

The Little House is a locally owned and operated produce store with an unusually good selection- the variety is better than what I typically see at Publix or Sweet Bay. From malanga, daikon and celery root to chestnuts, fennel, tangerines and pineapple, they really pack a lot into such a small building. In addition to all the usual (and occasionally unusual) fruits, veggies and herbs, they also sell boiled peanuts of several varieties, bread, honey, eggs and various drinks. They also have a quirky little selection of sodas: pumpkin pie, apple-beer and sarsaparilla in addition to classic root beer, orange cream, etc. I enjoyed their little apple room, which was filled with types suitable for baking and eating, as well as the lovely scent of ripe fruit. The staff is very friendly, and I will definitely come back to shop here. My only (minor) complaint is that two of their greens selections were a little wilted - but that is a minor nitpick after looking at everything else, including a large selection of lovely ripe tomatoes.

This was the first produce market I have gone to. We just moved from Chicago where there would be enormous produce departments at the grocery stores. It was a bit of a shock when we first moved here since grocery stores here are quite different. I realized folks must get their fruits and vegetables elsewhere, but I hadn't even checked out any produce markets until today. First, I was super excited to find pink lady apples! They are my favorite because I can't handle too much of a Granny Smith. They have the right balance of tart! Second, I purchased two of those along with three tangerines for $2.30. To me, this is hella cheap because I would pay more than that just for two apples in Chicago. The selection was great, especially for vegetables, but I only ran into to get a couple things for my lunch for the next few days. The people working were super friendly to the customers. That is what makes it or breaks it for me over anything else.
