I was headed to a friend's house to sit and work a bit on a few projects but I knew I would need to pick up something to eat on the way because I hadn't eaten. I was certain I would not be able to focus and work on an empty stomach. So I considered all of the standard quick pick options when I remembered her telling me about a latin market near her house which served good and inexpensive food. Yes both of which are right up my alley. I decided to stop and see for myself. She was not lying they had a full service restaurant in the back of the supermarket. Although I am not hispanic, you would think I was with as much as I love the food from many spanish speaking countries. I was delighted. The only challenge was trying to figure out what each of the dishes were since they were not marked. There were so many options that I wish my friend was eating too so that I could try more of the food items without being a true glutton. I settled on getting stewed chicken with arroz con gandules, platanos maduro and black beans. The plate is so full they wrap it with saran wrap so that it does not spill in transit. The cost of this plate was $5.79 before tax. I had enough food that it last for lunch and dinner. It was flavorful and good. Not gourmet but just like I would expect from one of my friend's mother or grandmother; which was just what I wanted. I would definitely go back here without a doubt and try some other items. Be aware that this place is popular so the favorites run out quickly. When I arrived at 11 am they were already out of empanadas for the day.

Latinos is a supermarket and has a huge food line for lunch. The servings they provide have been very generous in the past but I have not had lunch here in quite some time. Came in to get a breakfast sandwich, so I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on Cuban bread. I have to say it was fairly bland. I was expecting a lot more flavor and it wasn't there.

One the service was horrible, they had very nasty attitudes especially the deli side and the food was very bland. Not to mention 30 minutes after eating the Bacon egg and cheese, our roommate was puking their brains out. Honestly the only good service we had was from the lady checking us out, she was so nice. Oh, and for the price it was not worth it. If I could give no stars I would.

Come to this market to stock up on all the goodies that you need. We purchased (44) items and it was under $100 the prices are amazing and you will find all of the things you love. Thank you "Latino Supermarket" we got all of our ingredients we needed since we live in South Carolina and there are no Peruvian restaurants near us .

This supermarket is great cause you can find anything a latino needs for a kitchen that you can't find in Publix. You can get anything you need. Surprisingly they have a giant prepared food area that has an amazing selection. On the bad side, the place is dirty, dark and smells like a meat plant. The place is always full and definitely makes money so I don't understand why they can't keep it in better shape. Reinvest some money in updating it.

Where do I start? Well, we have been going to this supermarket since we moved to the Brandon area. The hot food from the counter was very good in the beginning. Had lots of Puerto Rican style specialties, and the produce was very good. They changed owners, and it just hasn't been the same since that time. I started noticing things like the expiration dates. Mom loves her little Cien en Bocas cookies that she tells me were only a penny for a handful when she was a young girl. Yes, she tells me that story every time we see them. Well, we purchased them in the tin canister and found that they were expired later on when we got home. It has gotten worse and worse over the years. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness. About a month ago, I went there to purchase ingredients for habichuelas rosadas. I was happy to find the recao and the calabaza (Spanish pumpkin) almost immediately. The produce still looks good. Would purchase the same thing here again. Their recao leafs were large and we got more than enough. Didn't need all of it. The rest of the store was cluttered and not very organized. I went to the meat section to find salt pork which is a necessity for sofrito. They pointed me to the right section to find it. All of the packaged salt pork was slimy on the outside. You couldn't help but get that slime all over your hands when picking up the package. I was immediately grossed out. I had to pull out my hand sanitizer quickly to remove the sticky substance from my hands. I think the only good experience we had during this visit was when we were checking out. The young lady at the cash register was very nice and friendly. No complaints there. Then, my mother decided to walk over to see what kind of prepared food they had in the hot food section. She quickly came back and said that the whole food area was a mess. I walked over after my purchase and found it in the same condition. I'm sad about this because we've had many good meals here in the past. There is a happy ending. My husband made the best habichuelas rosada ever with the ingredients that we purchased from this store. He followed the recipe from my mother's PR cookbook (by Carmen Aboy Valldejuli). She stopped cooking a long time ago because Puerto Rican food preparation is hard work. I give credit to those who do it on a daily basis. Anyway, I'd purchase these ingredients over again although I'm not sure I'd handle the salt pork package without gloves next time.

Someone brought me back lunch from the Latino Supermarket so this review is only for the food. I had the roast pork. The skin was crispy on the outside and the meat was tender on the inside. I got black beans and rice and plantains. It came with a side of bean soup which was delicious! The food is fresh and oh so good. I got the lunch special. All of that food was $6.50! I call that a deal.

A hole in the wall that's hitting!!!! On point! Went to Tampa for a saints game and a friend of mine from NOLA living in Tampa took us here. It's like a cafeteria line and you tell them what you want your plate to be. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! And BOUNTIFUL! My husband got a whole chicken for $8!!! I had the steak, veggie rice and it was so bomb. Wasn't a fan of the tamale but everything else made up for it.
