The Lakeland Ice Cream Company's are the BEST ice cream shops in Lakeland! There's hardly competition and if you have been to one then you understand.Having this location in South Lakeland closer to where I live is dangerous. The original is in way North Lakeland, and there's also one in Mulberry (called the Mulberry Ice Cream Company). But regardless which store you go to, it's a consistent and delectable product.They have a dozens of flavor options, from a full case of sorbets to kiddie options like superman to all the chocolate heaven you could want. They handmake the ice cream and you can tell when you have it, it's just different than other places.I usually end up trying something different every time I come since there are so many options- there truly hasn't been one I haven't like yet. And you can taste test if you're having a hard time deciding, which would be understandable. This location is cute- it's where the south Swan Brewing bar used to be so they kept the bar up and refashioned it to work as more of an old school ice cream parlor feel. Another fun part of these ice cream companies- they also have homemade waffle cones, like literally almost double digit flavors, and you can get the famous ice cream burrito or ice cream nachos. If you're a fan of malt flavors the malts they make are fabulous too.

This place will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. I was surprise at the variety of soda bar, sorbet, no sugar ice cream, non dairy, regular ice cream and different cones. I was also surprise at the passive aggressive sign by the soda about children under 5 not being able to sit there. A kids movie (Shrek) was playing at the soda bar. There were 2 workers on a Friday night and both were friendly. I placed 2 orders and was taken care of within 5 mins.

Delicious ice cream and friendly service. Lots of flavors to choose from with various cone and bowl formats. A little pricy ($25) for 3 single scoop waffle cones and a single scoop dish but high quality. The store was very clean, staff changed gloves between guests, and the soda bar was a cute concept for another time

This place is a hidden gem! Tucked away but not far from anything. Tons of ice cream flavors including dairy free and sugar free options. My husband had a banana split with dairy free ice cream and especially liked the toasted coconut flavor. I tried the Elephant Ears flavor and is was yummy. Super cute soda bar that you can sit at make for a great vibe and dessert destination. Staff was very friendly and quick.

My and my wife decided to go there about 3 weeks ago I wanted to have a banana split that I heard so much about I was told they were out of bananas which I couldn't understand you're less than 300 feet from winn-dixie go buy some so they where even out of what my wife wanted so we ended up with this brownie sundai special it was just ok put not worth the 8.00 but I don't think I will go back

Have been twice. Different experiences each time. One was crowded and chaos overload. Flavors change out so you may not always get your fave. However they do try to please customers with their popular ones. Tremendously large selections and they allow small tastes I'd love to see more sugar-free or lo-cal options. The other south location (Combee) minimized their options so if you need the wide selection, go here. I'll go back, still searching for a favorite.

brand new ice cream shop in town, and I am so excited. Usually frequent the other location (North Lakeland near Duff Rd Park) and I am happy this one opened closer to my home. We are seasonal residents and look forward to a good, old fashioned ice cream cone while visiting Florida and I am happy to say we will not go anywhere else! First the customer service is impeccable. I have worked in the food industry (1985-91) and it is a hard business to be in. In 2023 with the raising costs of goods its amazing that they are doing great things. Indoor seating, family friendly and just a cool vibe. Soda float bar (cool) my husband and friend enjoyed a rootbeer float. I had a sundae with the most delicious hot fudge and bananas. It was divine! (ice cream choice was caramel caribou and lets go bananas) we thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the bar and enjoying the company of the (awesome) crew. It made us feel at home. They do have seating inside and outside. Many many different choices. If you cant find something you like, then you are just not looking or very unreasonable. Tons of toppings, cones and just overall a good menu. They even have a PICKLE split. Yes, you read that right a pickle split haha this made my husband laugh. Clean restrooms, clean store, busy and will for sure have a weekly ice cream date night with our group. No sugar and no dairy options available as well. Relax and enjoy life. Thank you Lakeland Ice Cream South for exceeding my expectations!

Ice cream was good. Service was great. Wish it was more kid friendly considering it's an ice cream store. Only 3 very flimsy hightop tables. They have a nice soda "bar" area, also with hightop seats, but it has signs that messy children are not allowed to sit there. We will stick to more family friendly places.

I love this place. This is the one ice cream spot I go to that is consistent in quality, customer service, and overall environment. The staff is extremely kind and the amount of ice cream options they have is incredible. Definitely one of my favorite ice cream places in town, highly recommend. Kid and family friendly as well :)

Very good first experience. Had the Coffee Chip and the Toffee and Cream. Both very good. The fresh made waffle cones were great. Will be back.
