This nicely decorated restaurant took the place of the Chinese food restaurant that was outdated, and this is a huge upgrade. The interior is nicely decorated and the food is great. We ordered Chicken Biryani and Tiki Masala, and both were really good. Portions are very large and served with a smile.Definitely recommend stopping by this new place and checking them out.

We dined in over the summer after the restaurant had just opened. We were abke to be seated without a wait. Staff was friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Everything we ordered was gluten-free and we ordered Everything extra spicy. The food did take a long time to cook (about half an hour to 40 minutes). Everything is cooked to order and they had a lot of takeout orders as well. We didn't mind waiting because the food came out hot and fresh like anyone would like it! We had some leftovers to take home and it reheated well the next day. The restaurant is located in like a strip mall plaza so there is not a lot of parking because there are a lot of stores. The restaurant is right off the interstate as well. Inside the restaurant is pretty large and very open and the decor is very nice. I would highly recommend this place!

This place is phenomenal! I had been hearing about the wonderful news of this restaurant just opening so I came to check it out myself. I visited Friday night around 530pm. It wasn't too busy at first but then it got very packed. They only take reservations for larger parties so any smaller groups have to walk in. The interior is modern and creates a cozy welcome. My server was fantastic, however I forgot his name! Very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive for drink refills. I ordered a bunch of stuff off the menu because I am a sucker for tasty Indian cuisine. The starter was Panipuri. This was fun because they are fried bread balls with potato and spices that you pour a broth into and sort of take it as a shot. The rest of the course was incredible! I got the Chicken Tikka Masla, veggie stir fried noodles, rice, tandoori wings, and garlic + rosemary/cream cheese naan breads. Everything came out very fresh and in a timely manner with how busy it got. I can't forget that I ordered Josh Cellars Pinot Grigio that was greatly paired with everything that I ate! I am very impressed with this spot and will be back again soon!

Amazing, amazing food! We come here regularly and never disappointed. Our favorite is their dishes. The lamb is always perfectly cooked, never too dry. We tried their chicken wings this time, love the spices. We decided to order Hot spicy next time since it's not as hot (yet spicy enough) as Indian Hot. Many gluten-free options and vegetarian options. Service is always great- kind and willing to accommodate. Ambience is casual with enjoyable instrumental music in the background low enough we can hear each other have a conversation. We are big fans of this restaurant, highly recommended

The food here is outstanding. The chef really has an understanding of flavors and spices, making sure one spice is not overpowering the others. The Chicken 65 is my favorite appetizer and they do it right, it's one of the best I've had! My entree was the Chettinad and my husband's was the Kashmiri Aloo Dum, both were absolutely fantastic and we added the Masala Kulcha that was the icing on the cake because it went so well with our main courses. The service was excellent and the ambiance was nice. This used to be the old location of ABC Seafood Restaurant which I used to frequent, so it's really great that Lajawab is here now providing such delicious Indian cuisine.

Chilly nights in Florida call for spicy curry, and this place delivered! Our party of six was seated immediately, with quick and friendly service setting the tone for a great meal.We ordered a variety of dishes: samosas, chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, and several types of naan bread (garlic, spicy chili, and regular). Everything was flavorful and satisfying. We requested our food "hot" on the spice scale, and while it leaned more toward medium for us, the flavors were still fantastic. For those who like it fiery, they offer an even higher spice level.One of us braved the vindaloo, which was delicious but definitely brought the heat--enough to break a sweat! Even with the spice, the food was enjoyable, and we appreciated having leftovers to savor the next day.Highly recommend this spot for a flavorful and memorable meal, especially if you're a fan of bold Indian cuisine!

Last week, we decided to check out the new Indian spot in St Pete off 54th Ave N, Lajawab Indian Cuisine. This is where ABC Chinese used to be. We had some hits and a little miss.We walked in and we were greeted immediately. The hostess and server were great throughout our visit. They seemed to have cleaned the place up quite well and it looked great inside. We were seated and our server was right over. We started out with an appetizer of chili gobi and for our mains we went with malai chicken and the la jawab curry with chicken. We were asked for our heat preference and I went with medium while my girlfriend went with mild.Our app came out quickly and looked good. It was fried cauliflower in a chili sauce. It was flavorful and enjoyed. Our mains came out afterwards and looked good. Normally malai chicken is a white cream sauce, but it came out a deep orange. The flavor was good no matter the color. It had chicken cooked in a cashew cream sauce with fenugreek. I was quite happy with my meal. It was well seasoned and not too spicy. My girlfriends curry left a bit to be desired. It was lacking in salt and flavor overall. She ate it, but said she would not order that dish again. We had a few friends that went after we did, and they all said make sure to get medium or spicy as their experience was similar when ordering mild dishes there.Overall, we enjoyed our visit. Our app and my main was great, whiles her meal left a little to be desired. Service was great and the updated location was nice. We will definitely be back to try some other menu options.

Love this new Indian food spot! It hits the taste buds right where it needs to. Unfortunately not the spice level i want it to be, definitely catered to non Indian taste palette. Having said that, still thought flavor profile was yum. Servers were kind, had good recommendations. Definitely loved the gobi manchurian!! 10/10 recommend. It's a nice restaurant, can go w a group of people!

After hearing about this new spot in St Pete I knew I had to check it out since Indian cuisine is one of my absolute favorites. A friend and I came here on a Tuesday evening around 7 and it was surprisingly busy which was a good sign. We ordered samosas, I got lamb Rogan Josh and palak paneer with garlic naan. I believe my friend got a lamb curry as well as garlic naan. It was all pretty darn good, and it tasted very fresh and bright. Honestly my fave was actually the non-veg dish (I love saag paneer so this was right up my alley). The samosas were stunning too--filled to the brim and nice and flakey.The service was just a touch slow but decent overall. Will definitely stop in here again in the coming months--love that I have another great Indian spot to go to!
