La Vid is a hidden gem in Carrollwood. Victor is one of the most knowledgeable people you will meet when it comes to wine. If you're not sure what you want, or you want to try something new, he'll find a great match. There's a huge selection of wines, including many you may have never heard of or seen before. It's laid back and relaxed, you can come after work or just to have a pleasant time with friends and family. Want a snack? Or a sweet? There's options located toward the back and Victor can tell you what everything pairs best with. Salud!

Terrible attitude by the man behind the bar. Claimed to be a wine expert and wanted to "elevate the Tampa wine scene" but came off condescending and rude, not to mention inaccurate. Will never recommend or go back.

This place is awesome! I drove from Soho and it was worth it. Unique wines from Iberia. Tell Victor your from Soho to trigger him lol but he knows his stuff. He is passionate about wines and bringing fresh new concepts to Tampa. He is a Tampa native but sumiller level knowledge of wine.

Great place for an after work glass of wine or come for the wine tastings. Victor has a wealth of information about wine and wine making in Spain and Portugal. The first Friday wine tastings are must for anyone interested in trying new wine.

Quick review. I had heard great things about La Vid Wines. As someone with deep interest in wine - I couldn't resist a visit. So off I went. The strip center itself is OK. The store itself is awesome. This is a very very attractive store that is well stocked with Iberian wines (Spain, Portugal etc). They have wines for every taste and every budget from collectibles to daily drinkers. In case you're wondering I did buy more than a few and could have easily bought many more - there were so many of my favorites.Two more huge pluses:1) The owner is generally there. He is knowledge and friendly and NOT at all pushy. We quickly established trust - very very genuine.2) They have one heck of wine bar for tastings and more. Well stocked, comfortable and attractive. Great atmosphere.We will branch out and start attending some of their events.

WOW - a must visit for wine enthusiasts in the Carrollwood area! I've been coming in for months and I'm always pleased. Victor is impressively knowledgeable and very helpful, not to mention the AMAZING wine selection. Cozy and relaxing ambiance while enjoying delicious wine and tapas in their bar area or while shopping around. I've taken the Wine Master Class with Victor and it was so much fun! Hey everyone in South Tampa: Carrollwood has a wine bar with an unbelievable wine selection & blows away any wine bar on the South side. Victor at La Vid is like an Encyclopedia of information on any type of wine, the winery where it was produced, the flavor profile, types of grapes used, the aging of the wine, etc... If you are a wine novice like me, just tell Victor what flavor profile you are looking for, & every single time he finds the perfect wine for you. He also allows tasting the wines before you choose. They also make incredibly flavorful Charcuterie Boards at La Vid, & Victor is now serving homemade dark chocolate truffles, which are some of the best I have ever had, & that includes ones from Europe. These people at La Vid love & have a passion for wine, & it shows in their service & supreme quality of wines served. This ain't some minor league South Tampa wine bar, with a limited selection, & employees that are not even knowledgeable about the wines they serve & sell. I was highly skeptical about La Vid the first time I went, but to me the Best wine bar anywhere in Tampa.

If you like wine bars, I suggest you check out La Vid. Like many wine bars the strip center it's in is plain, but La Vid is tranquil & comfortable. The wines are all from Portugal & Spain... and are fabulous! One of the benefits of the wines from Portugal & Spain, besides the breath of selections is the relatively inexpensive price. If you are a connoisseur, a wine lover or just like enjoying a glass of wine... Check out La Vid. It's always fun & educational to talk with Victor, too.
