This place is a hidden gem. The store is small but it has everything I need, except produce. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I am surprised to find her prices are comparable with the bigger Asian markets in the area. High quality fish!

Small but packed! The variety was nearly overwhelming but very well organized. I visited with a friend that was born & raised in Japan, and she helped me choose a variety of snacks & beverages. She comes here from Pinellas for a specific rice so I bought a small bag of that too. The owner was also incredibly helpful!

Looking for kewpie mayo for a dish my daughter wanted to make that obviously she saw on TikTok. Looked everywhere and could not find it. Google in Kewpie Mayo and this market popped up! Seems to be the only Japanese market in the area. So we hopped in the car and drove here. Greeted by the most friendly woman when we walked in. The market is on the smaller side but lots of goodies. Found the Mayo as well as noodles and some other items. We will definitely be back here more often. The owner said she always has this Mayo in stock and that majority items are Japanese within the store. Please stop in and support local business. Note: masks are asked to be worn inside

Small little shop with variety of items. They have the perfect udon noodles that kid's really like. Also the wrap " called skin" for fried egg roll that comes frozen is excellent. I wrap variety of vegetables and picky kids eat them in form of fried egg roll.

We visited this shop and found a lot of things we needed. The owner Kim is very friendly and even took her time to translate some ingredients for us how to use it. This shop is mall but packed with good stuff.

I live on the ither side of town so took my opportunity to drop in after visiting family. I swung in for kewpie mayo but definitely left with more than that. The store is relatively small but there is a lot packed in and in fact, plenty of items I've never seen at other oriental markets in the area. I am pretty sure this is the only Japanese market I've been to in the bay area, if there are even more, I'm not sure. I only wish the refrigerated section had a robust selection of herbs, there were so many yummy soup mixes and the like it would be nice to just grab everything I needed while there. The shopkeeper had great energy and was very sweet to talk to. I wish this was closer to my side of town

This market has everything I need to recreate the comfort foods of my Japanese upbringing. The selection of Japanese staples is superb, and the service is impeccable. They do not have fresh produce or hot prepared foods, but they do have a wonderful variety of frozen foods. This is a very small market in a strip mall, so if you blink, you might miss it. If you do, be sure to turn around and check it out.

I always forget Kotobuki is close to me now. We had been out to grab some lunch, and while driving by... I decided to stop in and get some Japanese groceries to make a good meal. Mainly I wanted some frozen Mochi rice cakes... which I love, pan fried or grilled, all crispy on the outside and gooey rice goodness on the inside. I found out they don't carry the freshly made frozen mochi anymore... but instead had prepackaged Mochi blocks which I had never seen before. But I grabbed a large bag, figuring any mochi is better than no mochi. :)Also picked up a tub of White Miso paste, so I could make some Miso soup (I already have Hon-Dashi at home). They had some beautiful flash frozen Sashimi grade tuna... so I picked up a large piece of that. Frozen Unagi (Eel) is a must... so yep, in the basket. Picked up several other little odds and ends, like Shrimp Chips, Pocky, my favorite Ramen (Sapporo Ichiban) and some fresh veggies too. Even got a large bag of Anjinomoto Chicken Gyoza (best brand ever for good frozen dumplings and potstickers!) I didn't take any photos of the goods I got... but do have pics of the dinner I put together with them, so will post that!Great service... very helpful, and a lot of hard to find items here!
