Konan BBQ

I've lived in tampa for 25 years and this was my first time here! New favorite place! Went on a Sunday around 5pm, walked right up to the counter and ordered and they had it out within a minute. Crazy friendly staff! We sat and ate there and they came over and brought us a free water bottle, so kind! Really spacious inside, tons of seating.

I really wanted to love Konan's but my food just wasn't it. An old friend of mine use to rave about how delicious the food was and honestly I wish I would've never listened to him lol.Off rip I could tell the sides weren't homemade. The Mac n cheese was flavorless and the greens undercooked. I have never in my life had crunchy/tough collard greens until eating from here.The meat was decent and I enjoyed the pineapple drink they're known for but to be honest this plate wasn't worth the money spent. If I didn't live so far from the establishment I would've took it back!

Best BBQ in Tampa!!! I went to Konan as a recommendation from my friend that's a Que. He said that the owner is a Kappa, hence the red decor. Outside, the parking lot isn't large and you get in where you can fit in basically. There are picnic table style seating outside as well as inside. We went directly after church so arrived at 12pm right when they opened. The staff is super nice, welcoming, and attentive when the crowd allows for check ins. Since it wasn't super busy yet the friendly staff came by to make sure the food was good and drinks filled. Now to the food...all I have to say is AMAZING!!!! I ordered the Real Big Hog (4 meats and 2 sides). My meats were ribs, chicken, chopped pork and sausage. My sides were potato salad and baked beans. The food was absolutely delicious like it came from someone's great grandma's southern kitchen. The meats were smoked and soft-barbecued to perfection, topped with that sweet tangy golden bbq sauce. Under all of that meat was a warm piece of bread to sop up all of that goodness. Lastly, normally I wouldn't eat just anyone's potato salad but this one did not disappoint. It had the perfect amount of creaminess, tang, and sweetness. On the side were the baked beans and OMG were they the flawless mix of sweet and smoked flavor expertly paired with its meaty counterparts. Overall Konan did not disappoint! If you are looking for a local spot with food so delicious you might wanna smack ya mama...head over to Konan BBQ and get you some good southern BBQ.

I liked the BBQ-but I have a real problem with someone picking their teeth and not washing their hands and going in to package food-I will not go here again-EVER!!!

I've found the best BBQ in tampa!!My boss was telling me about the best BBQ and i thought he was exaggerating but he tells no lies! My fiance and I went to Konans and immediately hit with the breathtaking bbq smell. We ordered the rib dinner and the chopped chicken and rib dinner with mac and cheese and baked beans. Also ordered 7up pound cake but i ate it before i could get a picture!The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the flavor itself was indescribable. Im not a sauce fan but whatever this sauce is i need it in a bottle ASAP. Mac and cheese and baked beans always are a hit with BBQ and theirs was the perfect addition. We paid about $50 for both plates with tip and honestly this plate is worth double that!The service was incredible, we could tell it was family owned by how much pride everyone took in the food. Ill be telling my friends about this place from now on.

The food at Konan BBQ was with out a doubt the best BBQ I've had in the city. The service given made you feel welcomed and at home. What I had was the chicken with baked beans and Macaroni and cheese. Again, I said it felt like home, and that it was. The Beans were a close match with my grandmother's. When you take in consideration the Max & Cheese too, it put myself and my fiancé right to sleep. All I can say is that we will return for more without a doubt.

If you think their chopped pork is tender, you are mistaken..Sides are good not pork. Only sweet tea.Not my thing

Konan's BBQ is the king of bbq in Tampa. The tangy, sweet, and smooth sauce will make you want to lick your fingers in public and not even care. Half slab, extra sauce on the side. Thank me later. A+

Konan is the go to place in Tampa for down home good southern BQ! Ask Ms Brenda to make more sweet potatoes pies! Try the tea and deserts to finish off the meal. You do have a wait sometimes, there's lots going on with online orders and us walkins. Peace

Ordered their BBQ for a Birthday Party Celebrating my wife's Mothers 97th. Was blown away by the super friendly service & the BBQ. We live in TX & have been obviously blessed to make comparisons. Konan would be competitive in any Texas City!! The Sides were as delicious as their Ribs! The Gentleman waiting on me has Family Members playing College Football. Just had to get a photo of his Million Dollar smile!
