I love this place now only is around the corner from my house but ever since Arigato's shut down many many years ago in Clearwater Florida. I was missing a good hibachi Japanese place. If you ever go there the hibachi grill looks great and their sushi is amazing. They have a sushi roll called the Kawa sushi roll and it's one of the best sushi rolls ever had in my life. They have great lunch specials and they even have an all you can eat menu on certain days at certain times check it out. It's in New Port Richey Florida on Little Road. It's one of the best Japanese steakhouses in the area.

Service was non existent. After being seated , we waited 20 minutes without even being acknowledged. It was not busy, and servers walked by us numerous times without even a "hello".The prices were high, $22 for hibachi chicken, but we didn't get a chance to order. We left and drove 300 feet to a different restaurant, who seated and served us immediately.Bad experience.

We took the family for hibachi. It was a nice meal, food was good. They easily accommodated a Shrimp allergy. I was a little disappointed that we got our food prior to our sushi order and Hibachi show was just ok. It was a good experience not a great one.

I would like to share some information with you. Kawa started your endless menu in September my family and I was very excited. We came on the fourth night and was totally delighted with the food and service. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about my experience last night December 19th at 7:15 PM. When the 3 of us arrived we were told there would be a 5 to 10 minute wait which was fine. We waited 35 minutes to get seated and there were plenty of tables and booths available as I looked into the dining room. This made no sense to me. We had a young Asian waitress. She was slow in service and I waited for my first part ordered while my friends got part of their food. She never checked back on us and I had to get her attention every time we wanted to order more, even though she passed our table several times, she never checked on us. I noticed that the sash mi pieces were smaller which is OK, I can order all I like. The steak pieces was ordered rare and came out well done and very tough. Not like before juicy and cooked to perfection. I reached a point where I was tired of flagging her down to order and decided to leave even though I was not done. I asked her if she had ever waited tables before as the service was awful. The manger came by to see what the problem was as just said I'm sorry. At least she could have given some sort of discount. I have brought many friends to your restaurant over the past few months and was totally embarrassed last night with my best friend that I bought with us. The curry chicken taste like sugar water, needless to say I will not be coming back or to continue to recommend your restaurant at out subdivision. Such a shame.

Went for my buddy's birthday. We asked for a table for 10 and they wrote down 8. It took them almost an hour to get our orders. The bartender in the bar area was the only bright spot there. Very knowledgeable and easy to talk to . Our chef was amazing but the waitress was a space cadet. The organization was chaotic at best and if you are on a time crunch I wouldn't waste your time here. Saturday's are usually full of fun drunk groups enjoying the hibachi show so if you are looking for a quiet atmosphere don't go here!

I love good habachi! It was always Arrogators or Kobe... enter Kawa. Staff is great, thorough & timely. Chef's put on a great show, while cooking your food to perfection.Their onion soup has a deep good broth flavor, but missed the green scallions on the top.The salad was fresh and the ginger dressing was delicious , not over dressed. The entrees, veggies & rice were cooked perfectly Hot off the grill, straight onto your plate. The sauces were addictive, especially the yum- yum sauce. The communal dining always brings new & interesting people. The last visit there was a special on crab Rangoon & wine, it varies by the day of the week.Crab Rangoon was not greasy, but crispy & full of crab (imitation) & cream cheese, very good. The house wine was a surprise, in the very best way. Overall, I love adding Kawa to my speciality restaurant list. What's a girl to do? Go where you love the food, even if it is a chain restaurant.

I wanted to suggest this place to my brother, as an alternative to our usual spot, Koizi (now Koi).I got there at 12:03 (they open at noon). I only know this because I tried to time my gym and Winn-Dixie runs so that I would get there promptly at noon.I was seated in a booth behind a young couple. The server waiting on them smiled, then walked right past me...a couple of times...mind you, the couple and I were the only people there. I figured I would give them until 12:15 to acknowledge me, and then hit the bricks. With a minute to spare, my server arrived. Sunday is dinner all day, with a price of $29.95...out of curiosity, I asked him (I would guess him to be in his early 20's) what the difference was between lunch and dinner, besides the price...he quickly replied "the portions are bigger at dinner". I thought to myself "it's all you can eat...that's irrelevant".The food was very good. My server then brings me the check. I was just going to put my card in the folder, but something told me to look at my bill...Good thing, as the bill was $88.12!...after a quick panic attack, I asked him why I had an $88 check, when it was $29.95 for dinner...he said that he thought that I was ordering separate menu items. I told him he thought incorrectly, and that the only thing he needed to do was bring me back a corrected check. The very good food was more than offset by a bad experience.

The sushi is always room temp, it's not terrible but that part always weirds me out. The soups are delicious though. Atmosphere isn't bad but I have t tried the hibachi yet. Over all it's been pretty mid the few times I've tried it
