Jimbo's Pit Bar B-Q - Tampa

We had just picked up my eldest son at TPA and he had a mad hankering for BBQ! Jimbo's was a random pick and we were all SO happy because it is fabulous! Homemade pickles and peppers! Terrific ribs, beef (sirloin) and their coleslaw too is excellent! Their hush puppies were perfection! And our server awesome! we three HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try Jimbos!

WORST meal I ever ate!!!Got from Uber Eats, but in spite of an hour and a half delivery time, the food had no flavor. The ribs were rubbery. The mac and cheese had no cheese taste, etc.Avoid!

All Time great BBQ baked beans!!!! Far and away the best item on the menu that I tried and the only item that I'd actually order again.The pork ribs were below average. The Bar-B-Q Beef was awful. I didn't eat more than a bite of it. The server was so nice he took it off the bill. The Mac & Cheese was ok. Luckily it isn't overly cheesy. The apple pie was below average.None of the meats were any good.I knew something was suspect when my food was delivered to me like 30 seconds after ordering.

My honest review is this location is ok. The inside looks and smells like a bbq spot which you can smell the smoke soon as you pull in. That is the highlight of this location. I thought the bbq was average. The food isn't seasoned at all and if you don't believe me just look at the plates. The baked beans are too sweet and need their own flavor profile. The Mac and Cheese tasted like something on a buffet line. Neither me or my friend liked any of it. The bbq sauce was pretty good. Could be us but we waited a while for service. Overall If I was on a budget and everything else was closed then I would come here. Otherwise save your money and try something else. Hopefully they will refresh the menu and sides one day but if it ain't broke ‍. If you're looking for a good ole southern, flavorful, down home southern bbq establishment then this is not it.

Great place to stop ; the meat was very tasty and tender the bbq sauce isn't over powering !!! Prices is reasonable !

I visit about once every five years when passing through Tampa. Nothing ever changes. Consistently great food, service, and overall personality. I would jump through hoops if they served beer as well.

My husband and I travel from Pinellas County every Saturday for breakfast here. The down home vibe of this place makes me feel like I'm back home in Mayo, SC where everything is a slower pace. At Jimbos you may have to share a large table with some other folks, but the breakfast is worth it! Delicious biscuits and their smoked sausage is amazing. If you want to go to a little southern eatery for breakfast - go here - but remember THEY ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAYS!

Beware!!!! Do NOT eat here!!! Food was HORRIBLE and cold!!! Service was great though!!!We have tried this place once before and thought we would give it another chance! NOPE!! Cheeseburger was awful!! It reminded me of the burgers that are frozen at Sam's and then cooked in a microwave! The ribs were cold and tough. The chopped pork sandwich had a piece of bone in it that got lodged in my husband's tooth. The Mac and cheese was ok, luke warm, not hot. This place is a definite NO for us!!!

Been going here for 20 years. The food has never disappointed, and the people are always wonderful and accommodating. I always bring people here when they've never been to Tampa, and I considered it a great BBQ place.

Have always loved Jumbo's BBQ. Top quality food and great staff. We get ribs, brisket and pulled pork family meal. Have to try the hushpuppies.
