Some places just have have it. Jason and his crew know there stuff. The meat was a big surprise, the chicken and the steak was cooked perfectly. Learned a few tips from Chef Johnathon on how to cook meat. Top tier Aura for some drinks at the bar.

I had a great night time experience here getting drinks and sharing plates with a friend! It was super busy when we arrived so I'm happy we made a reservation. There may be some flexibility with seating and it looked like the outside bar was less busy. Our server Shareef was incredibly attentive and helpful with suggestions. Having been to the former locations Luv Child multiple times he was able to answer all my questions about the transition and was super friendly. Food: We split the sweet Jamie Kay pizza (thin and crispy style). While I do like my pizza thin and crispy, this took it literally. There was literally a crunch when biting down on the pizza. I was a bit surprised and found certain areas to be a bit hard, almost cracker like. The toppings were alright, overall I thought there would be more flavor. The sliced steak was totally worth it! I loved the green pesto sauce / salsa verde / chimichurri that came with it. Definitely the highlight and it was a nice portion. I'd be interested to come back for the pasta dishes and breads.Drinks: I heard rave reviews about the pistachio espresso martini and it did not disappoint. Flavor was there. I do wish presentation was better. My friend got the spicy limoncello margarita and it had too much going on in my opinion. The dirty martinis were made just how we requested and we enjoyed them a lot.

Atmosphere - Very Nice. The restaurant has a bright, modern feel. There is a covered patio dining area at the looks very nice. There is a fairly small bar towards the back that looks inviting. There was a combination of booth type seating and some high tops inside. We were in a party of six with a reservation well in advance. We were seated a a U shaped booth that was rather tight for 6 adults. Service - Very Good! Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Food- Just OK. The menu is fairly limited (9 pasta options and pizza) and included some odd entrees. We ordered Daily Bread as a starter, which are 6 strips of sourdough bread that are accompanied by 3 different spreads. The bread was hot and the honey ricotta was a winner with me. I ordered the pasta carbonara. The pasta was bucatini, which was very thick and dense. The cream sauce was tasty. However, my entree was served lukewarm (at best). Normally, I would have returned it, but I was dining with people that I did not know well and I worried that it might not be received well.Overall Value - Good, but short of expectations.

Loved the atmosphere, which felt warm and inviting. There is indoor and outdoor seating and we were seated inside at a table for 6.Our server deserved a 5 star review. He was training a new person and he was patient with the 6 of us and gave us plenty of time so we didn't feel rushed. Awesome service the entire time. I started out with the pistachio espresso martini. There is a nice list of specialty drinks and this one caught my eye. It may be the best martini I have ever had. You could smell the pistachio and the flavor was yummy goodness. Our table shared the daily bread with the toppings. The whipped ricotta with the honey topping was so good. Bread was just ok. I settled on the rigatoni and added a meatball. All our food came out quickly but mine was barely warm, and my husband's was the same. The portion looked small, but once you started eating it was filling. I was glad I added the meatball because the pasta was so salty I had a hard time eating it. I left a lot in my bowl.My meal started out great and ended on a dry note.

Jay Luigi is a great place to have a romantic evening or a fun night out with friends. When the weather is favorable, sitting outside is a great dining experience. There are patio tables and couches outside and inside there are booths and tables as well as a long communal table next to the bar. At this time, there is no Happy Hour but the small plates and pizzas are great for sharing. We started with the olives and cheese which is nice to nibble on while looking over the large cocktail menu. We decided on the thin crust Queen Stella Margarita pizza and the thick crust Jess Knows Best which had a good amount of sautéed onions and mushrooms with a tangy goat cheese. We also got the Charred Broccilini with cashew nut crumbles on top. Everything was delicious and from start to finish and our service was also excellent.

Jay Luigi was amazing!!! I absolutely loved everything about my experience here! We came for my mom's birthday, and it truly was special. They had a nice variety of drinks as well as food. I love a good spritz, but I decided to try the pistachio espresso maritini which our server Bianca said was popular. It was delicious, however spritz' are a lighter option. We also tried the crispy artichoke which came with a generous amount to share among 4 people. The brussel pasta was so flavorful and had a distinct taste which melts in your mouth. I paired it with the chicken. It was very fresh and yummy. The tomato vodka pasta is a classic, you can't go wrong with it. So creamy and delicious. The pizza was also so good with thin crust.. and the best part? ITS SOURDOUGH!! I got the pleasure of meeting the owners, Jay and Jimmy and they made our visit memorable!! The vibes at this place are also so amazing, with lovely outside seating and a modern interior. This place is it!! Will definitely come back!

I recently dined at Jay Luigi and overall had a pleasant experience. We dined outside on the spacious patio. It was perfect for my lunch date. The Brunetti's traditional alfredo with shrimp was delicious. I also ordered the chicken wings with the lemon basil sauce, however, it was not my favorite. I think it would be perfect without the sauce. My husband enjoyed his carbonara but was not a fan of the sausage. He will probably try it with the grilled chicken breast or shrimp next time. Overall, we received great service, delicious food and plan to return to try other dishes.

Grabbed takeout from Jay Luigi last weekend and wow... so good! I got the Carbonara and the Nevaeh pizza and both were seriously to die for. The pasta was super creamy and flavorful, and the pizza was just perfect. Pickup was really quick and easy, and everything stayed nice and hot. Definitely coming back for more!

Jay Luigi's is a hidden gem in Tampa! The food is fresh, flavorful, and served quickly without sacrificing quality, which can sometimes be hard to find. I got it for takeout the other day and ordered the Queen Stella Margherita simple but packed with flavor.Even though I did not dine in, the atmosphere while waiting for my order seems modern and inviting, perfect for a casual night out. If you're craving high-quality Italian without the long wait, this is the place to go! I can't wait to dine in and try more items next time!
