Island Flavors and Tings

I didn't know what to expect coming here. It is a grocery store with a food to go section. The place had a steady stream of people coming in and out. We got the large platter where you can choose two different kinds of meat. We chose chicken and oxtail and it was delicious. I would definitely come back here again. Plate was about $28 was very generous. My husband and I both still had leftovers.

Ladies and gentleman I may have found the best Jamaican food on this side of town. I'm going to refer to Island Flavors and Tings as Ifat. The restaurant itself was not designed for dine in and the concept is similar to chipotle. There are a bunch of carribbean seasonings, sea moss , teas and so forth. ifat stays true to its roots and the flavors are no different. Oxtail is a must try , its the best I've had in st Pete , Flavor is crazy and if you get the rice ask for the gravy because both of those together are magic. Jerk chicken is great but I like a little more spice on mine. Still though this is some darn good jerk chicken. ifat doesn't miss , try it out and thank me later

Love this place. I enjoyed the jerk, chicken salad always delicious. My husband had the mango meatballs with rice and cabbage. It was awesome. Of course you can't forget the mango bread. You have to have that and take some home.

Omg! The best food hands down. I'm so mad I just discovered this wonderful and delicious place. My absolute favorite is the mango bread! I ordered the oxtail which was sooooo good. And not chewy. Cooked perfectly! and you know I had to get me some fruit punch. I'm a new customer for life! Please come get you the best island food. They also sell seasonings and have so much to offer! The staff is so friendly!

Helena and crew delivers delicious Caribbean food at amazing prices. We get catering from Island Flavors at work quite often. The staff is always gracious and professional. They make a good variety of food that will satisfy everyone's palate, and they can cater to dietary restrictions. The prices are more than fair. I highly suggest Island Flavors if you need catering for special events, small and large.Some of my favorite dishes: coconut curry shrimp, Jamaican roast pork tenderloin, and the glazed wings.You DEFINITELY need to order the desserts!! You can't go wrong with any of Helena's desserts. The absolute MUST TRY is the Calypso Cake. Also close runner-ups: the chocolate cake, mango bread, and the sweet plantains.

Service. Don't add the tip. A tip is for service above. The lousy service is not worthy of a tip

10 out of 10! Food is authentic service was good and they had a great level hospitality, even with keeping fresh lemon water on hand. Will definitely be back anytime in the area.

The food is amazing and has been year over year. I've been coming here for at least 5 years and the taste is consistently great. The jerk pork, oxtails, and curry goat is my favorite. The eschovitch snapper is always good. And the MANGO BREAD! Do yourself a favor and try it. You won't be disappointed.

Jamaican Patties!!! The BEST!!! After spending a lot of time sailing the islands, I was introduced to these with the locals!! My absolute favorite!!! I never thought I'd find anything like them in the states. I stumbled on "Island & Tings" as a mutual vendor at a Local Market years ago. Their actual physical address has progressed so much. It's a beautiful, quaint spot to get a fantastic meal! I was so thrilled to find a place with Actual Authentic Island food! THE BEST!! Can't recommend them enough!! The food is the best, locally owned & so friendly! You must try it!!

Absolute Deliciousness l!!! Authentic jamacian food. Ibhadcthe curry chicken -perfect!! Not salty. Well seasned and fresh.!!! I also took home a rum cake variety box which my family loved. Highly recommended!!!
