Ichiban Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar

Pad Thai was pretty good but was mostly noodles and chicken--no sprouts/green onions/etc. Miso soup--one piece of seaweed and nothing else--, house salad, and Arizona roll were all very bland.

I used to come to this sushi restaurant often many years ago, but I'm sad to say I haven't been here in a hot minute with all the new sushi places opening :(. Thankfully, my niece was craving sushi and picked Ichiban so I was excited to try them out after all these years. They are currently only open for take out. We placed our order in by phone and picked up shortly after. Updated menu is online.We ordered the SHRIMP VOLCANO, GATOR ROLL, and TUNA TORNADO. My niece is normally a volcano lover, but this time she fell in love with the GATOR ROLL. It was saucy and generously covered with krab sticks. We will definitely be ordering that roll again. The other rolls were also good -- rolled tightly and just the right amount of rice. I also ordered tuna nigiri and was happy that it was good quality and fresh tasting.Will have to order again to try out some of their newer rolls. Definitely recommend trying them out.

I was in the area visiting family. We were I. The mood for carry out sushi. We decided on Ichiban based on their reviews. The order was placed via the telephone. We ordered a couple of basic rolls, a Dragon roll and a Pimp Daddy roll (WTHeck). We also had 2 orders of combination fried rice. The restaurant is in a strip mall type setting. Sometimes looks can be deceiving. All of the food was delicious. One order of fried will easily feed 2-3 people. This will be my sushi spot when I'm in the area.

Best hidden gem sushi in St. Pete. Since Covid you can only order takeout, but it is still great quality and they have a tremendous selection of rolls to chose from! Lunch specials cannot be beat either - ton of food for extremely low prices.

Found this place on Google and decided to try them on a whim to satisfy my sushi craving. I was a little disappointed that they were closed from 2-5pm. I called for take out right at 5pm and my order was ready promptly. The staff seemed friendly enough, my sushi was cheap and tasted great. Make sure you bring cash if you plan to spend less than $10, as there's a $10 card minimum.

Still just as good! Wish they would open for dine in but I understand the impact COVID closures have had on small businesses- I'm just happy I can get take out! I do recommend placing a takeout order as soon as they open. Otherwise be prepared to wait 45- an hour on a busy night. Love love. I'm not sure how the one star review claiming they didn't know when they checked the website that the restaurant was doing take out only when, the first thing you see on their website is a pop up that says they will be doing takeout....

This is a hidden gem in St Petersburg. Everyone has a favorite sushi locale. Ichiban is at the top of my list.They have a few pages of signature rolls. Basic rolls, and more. My favorite has been passed on to me from a dear friend who swears by the same roll. Hello Pimp Daddy Roll. I know, it's a crazy name for a sweet and crunch roll. Ask for a side of eel sauce for an added dose of sweetness.The Pimp is awesome. And so is everything else I have eaten here.Sometimes I stop in for Thai and those dishes are great...they serve up the typical dishes: curry, noodles, soups and even boneless duck.The restaurant is small and located in an older mini shopping strip. If you blink, you can miss it. There's plenty of parking. The hours are a bit odd, so make sure they are open before heading out.

Great place for take out sushi. Good quality for price. Service is always nice and packing of sushi is top notch. I have had almost every roll here and not had a bad one. The Clearwater roll ranks at top for me. Keep in mind busy nights allow for an hour order before you pick up they do get busy.

The sushi is good! Had a few basic rolls and two speciality. Tastes good, prices are good in todays economy. Can't go wrong. Order ahead!

This is has been our go to for take out sushi for years! Quality is consistent. The Sean Roll is a favorite.
