This is a local Hispanic supermarket. They have all the Spanish ingredients, seasonings and vegetables. The service is friendly with hot and ready Cuban take out food. The ambiance is like you're in Latin America shopping for your fruits and veggies.

We stopped by this local Dominican grocery store after spending the afternoon with our energetic toddler at the zoo. If you like Latin American food, Huracán serves the thickest, juiciest and crispiest chicharron with your choice of rice or yucca and beans. They also serve chivo and mangú!!! This will be our go to food stop before or after the zoo, just like how La Teresita is for trips to and from the airport. Mmmmmmm yummy

Well... I'm a "gringo" so if you've read any other reviews, I bet you can guess my experience. I typically give a place 3 chances before I review, and yesterday was my 3rd visit. First visit I got a Cuban sandwich. Very good except for one thing - their roast pork was super-chewy. Yuck. And, the woman behind the counter did not understand one word of English. Please owners of local businesses - take a look around you. I'm willing to bet that 70% of the population in a 1-mile radius are English-speaking Americans - and not just Hispanic. Please hire people that can understand us Americans.Second trip - black beans and yellow rice. The black beans were too watery. The best black beans are not watery - they're slightly creamy.Yesterday - 3rd and last time - again the non-English-speaking woman behind the prepared foods counter. Are you kidding me - she couldn't tell the difference between English words egg and steak?! I ordered a steak sandwich and she made an egg sandwich!! Come on! That's it - I'm not giving my business to a local business owner that hires people that can't speak English - at least a moderate amount of English. You can take your average Cuban sandwich, your very average watery black beans, and your average steak sandwich and never get business from me or my business.By the way - I have 6 team members here in my office and if you had people who could properly serve us, you'd have us ordering at least every 7 to 10 days. Let's say it's $7 per person times 7 of us. That's $49 per order. Now multiply that times 35 orders a year, and you just lost $1,700 a year in business. And that's just my business!

Only ever been there for take out & coffee.Their Colada's are excellent, their rice & roast pork are ok too.The people skill of their cashiers are seriously lacking. I get the feeling they don't like non-spanish speaking people in their business.Wish granted!

Always super pleased when stopping here to get my Latin flavor fix. Every time I have visited I have found the store super clean and always stocked with a wide variety of Latin food products. The best secret about this place is the ready made food and sandwiches made in the back.. All My tastebuds can say is WoW!!!! The food is fresh made and packed with so much flavor..The portions are huge and one meal can definitely serve two people. You simply can't go wrong with Cuban roast pork, black beans, white rice and platinos all for $5. Trust me when I say if your looking for some great tasting Latin food like mom used to make make it a point to stop here your taste buds will thank you...

We tried Huracan because we heard & read good things & were pleasantly surprised when we saw a long line at 8 in the morning. When we took our food home, it was ok. Cuban sandwich was nothing special. Bugs crawling all over the guava pastries completely ruined it. I didn't notice until we were home because they went straight into a bag at the store.

First time I decided to try food at Huracan Supermarket. I was not very impressed. The food looked good so I decided to go ahead and order, around 4pm on a Sunday. I proceded to order white rice, shredded meat, and they had nothing else I wanted, I guess they had ran out of items, so I left it at that. The lady who served me was nice and very generous with the portions she gave me, while another lady was standing a few steps away engaged on her smart phone. The one lady who served me asked the other lady how much would that be for those two items, and she replied, $10.99 + tax, I was suprised as well as the lady serving me, to which she said, "but he's only taking rice and meat" they other lady replied, "same price" I found it very expensive for 3/4 of the recipient full of rice. I paid and left. I was not feeling like looking like a cheapskate! Too bad my first experience was this bad, the prices for ready made food was high in comparison with other markets. Not going back!

This supermarket has the best platano deal. They are usually 10 for a dollar or 6 for a dollar. They have good selection of fruit and vegetables that are traditional for spanish cooking. They also have a variety of soaps, shampoo, candy, pots and pans that are traditional for spanish people. They have a cooked food selection. Super cheap, good quality and quantity. If you need a whole pernil (spanish style pork) you can pick from there large food items. They are more than reasonable prices. They also have a meat market, haven't bought much there. The people are super nice.
