Hungry Crab Tampa Juicy Seafood & Bar - Tampa

We have been to Hungry Crab one other time although I think it was take out, but just as good!The Ambiance is very comfortable and feels familiar lol The waitress was also very good and friendly.We just came in for a quick meal, quick friend goodness although I'm sure their boils are also very good. I got fried shrimp and my mother got the fish. Also we got calamari, all SO good!Keep doing what you're doing HC!

Our second visit to The Hungry Crab in Tampa was even better than the first! This time, we brought a larger group of friends to share the experience, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and quickly accommodated our party with a large table that made for a lively, communal dining experience.The seafood boils were the star of the show, as expected. We went all out with the combo bags, loaded with snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels, and crawfish, paired with corn and potatoes. We experimented with different seasoning levels, and the "Hungry Special" blend (a mix of garlic butter, Cajun, and lemon pepper) was a unanimous favorite. Everyone loved the customizable spice levels too--those who wanted a kick went for "Hot," while others stuck with "Mild" for the perfect balance of flavor.The fried catfish basket was perfectly seasoned and not greasy at all, making it a great option for those who didn't dive into the boils. The portions were generous, and we were thrilled to share bites with each other.The energy of the restaurant added to the experience. It's casual, fun, and unpretentious, with bibs and gloves provided to fully embrace the messy (but delicious!) seafood feast. Service was quick and friendly, with the staff checking in often to refill drinks and ensure we had everything we needed.Overall, our second visit solidified The Hungry Crab as a go-to spot for fresh, flavorful seafood in Tampa. We visited this delicious spot for my cousin's 16th birthday, and let me tell you--we had a blast! My family loves seafood, and this place did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and flavorful, the service was quick, and the music set the perfect vibe. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

We came here looking for seafood and definitely weren't disappointed! While we didn't know we were walking into a seafood boil restaurant it turned out to be great! My boyfriend had the Cajun Momma rum drink and really liked it. I had their margarita without sweet sour mix. Very good! My boyfriend had the fried shrimp, calamari and a boiled potato. And we had the crab bites. Smaller version of crab cakes. I'm not a fried food fan but he enjoyed all of his food. I had the special of one pound of snow crab with a free half pound of shrimp, which came with corn and potato. Our server recommended the house seasoning. I did order medium spice. As much as I do like spice, it was a tad too spicy for me. All the food was prepared well and was a good quality. Typically I don't like ordering snow crabs because they are so small but these were surprisingly larger in size. Highly recommend!

Ambience was not great. Service was terrible. We were a party of six and they automatically added gratuity to our check, but after our food was delivered, the server never came back until the check was delivered. Since there was a gratuity, we could not tip less for poor service.The only saving grace was that the food was actually good. I was joking to my husband that this place should be takeout only because the service was bad. The ambience was tacky. There was no music playing. It was just overall pretty terrible to dine in, but since the food was good , I thought that it deserved 2 stars.

Awsome food the crab was great and the crawfish and the cool wheel thing was nice and the lady was really sweet

I've been to other crab/seafood boil spots in the area and this is a nice choice if you're in New Tampa. My family and I went on a Wednesday evening and there wasn't a soul around when we arrived around 6pm. We were seated immediately and our waitress was really sweet - very attentive and friendly. Here's my pros and cons:Pros: - Crabs and shrimp were fresh- Really nice ambiance: dark and intimate with plenty of nautical decor- Lots of parking as it's part of a strip mall- Friendly staff and very attentive- Full bar with fair drink prices- The blue crab special is BY FAR the best deal here (big enough to share)Cons:- Not to sound like a chonker, but the 1/2 lb combos were not as big as other places- Calamari is only the chewy rings. Would not order this again- Happy hour ends at 5pm and picks back up at 8:30pm which stinks- House seasoning is not super flavorfulI would come back here to try the happy hour deals sometime. Just gotta leave work super early or have a late night meal! Overall a nice place to bring your family for a special occasion as seafood can be pricey.

First time trying this crab place and we had a really good time. The service was great and I was able to reserve a spot easily on Yelp. Arrived early and was seated immediately. Everything was fresh and made perfectly. The inside has really cute decor. The kids couldn't stop pointing at the sharks and fish. We will definitely be back.

I love seafood and here is pretty good with that money range which I did pay for it. Service is very good. Pretty fast and very friendly. Casual not very laud. They take care for all you need seafood to not get dirty ( bib, gloves, crab cracker) .Interesting decoration inside.

Everything was great ! My server Samantha was outstanding! She made great recommendations and made sure my food was up to my standards. Food was great loved everything. Ambience was very nice! Definitely coming back! If it's your first time I definitely recommend to have Sam as your server, she did great!
